章 4: Too close for comfort!
Words couldn't express how I felt. My first day at work, I landed the job right on the spot without going through any specific interviews due to my looks, I accidentally overheard creepy lady workers who plan to provide me with ' special service '.
And to top it all of, a new CEO? I damn well wished that it was all just some terrible nightmare.
But, the only thing that was running through my mind was, " WHY WAS HIS FACE SO CLOSE TO MINE?! DID HE FIND OUT ABOUT MY EASY ACCESS INTO THE COMPANY BECAUSE OF MY LOOKS? I CAN'T LOSE THE JOB NOW! ".
My eyes were blinking out of control, my heart started beating like crazy! And I was about to break out in a cold sweat.
From my point of view, his face looked quite manly, not to mention, his height looked about around 190cm? He did resemble a bit like his father, Chadwick Brownfield. With those neat but thick ass eyebrows and the dark brown eyes.
I gulped down my saliva, feeling nervous as ever. I was probably on the verge to puke because I had never been in close contact with a male ever since my horrible break up.
Soon enough, he moved closer towards my face.
" What the heck is this guy trying to pull off?! Was he assigned by the perverted lady? It can't be right? He's the CEO for goodness sake! ", I asked myself in a worrisome tone.
He then asked me whether I was new to the company, and obviously I responded with a yes in a frightful tone.
Even though I had already worked at the company for three years straight in my other body!
I then continued to gaze at him but his face somehow showed slight disappointment, I then asked him, " Erm, it's a pleasure to finally meet you Mr. Brownfield, but what's with the disappointed face? And why do I get the feeling that you might know where all my stuff went.. "
He then gave me a quick smile and applauded me, for no particular reason?
He replied to me, " Well, it seems that you're the type who pays attention to your surroundings and I like those kind of people. What's your name though? Since you're new... And as for your stuff... they're with me, I'm gonna give you two offers, whether you decline or accept my offer, you will still have the same result. So, would you rather stay out here as a regular worker with all those crazy fangirls clinging onto you?
Or would you rather work as my personal assistant and earn a once in a lifetime opportunity to work side by side with me? Do not worry, your salary will be doubled if you choose to accept working with me, either way you'll eventually be working as my assistant whether you like it or not. For your information, I'm the type where if I want something, I'll get it. If I don't get it, I'll be furious."
" Was he a mind reader? I'll do anything to get away from the perverted lady! But, he truly resembled his father, always wanting to get what he wants via his words.", I did a quick thought.
But during that particular moment, my shoulders were still firmly gripped by William, whose face was still incredibly close to mine.
My mind was going crazy to the fact that he asked me as a GUY to be his personal assistant and the most confusing part of the scenario, it was only my " first " day at work and I somehow ended up in the hands of my new CEO?!?
And if I declined his offer, he would be furious and my deskmate did mention to make a good first impression on him. Without thinking smartly for a split second, my mouth opened up and said, " W-what?!? Why me out of all people to become your personal assistant?!? Well my name is Ryan Dexter! ".
" That new hot employee that I've heard about from the ladies lounge, that took advantage of this workplace with his looks? You're him? ", William interrupted me.
" Gosh damn! Word spreads fast... ", I thought.
" I didn't use my looks! The manager in the office building just blindly gave me the job right on the spot! Anyways.. As I was saying,, like, I'm extremely grateful for your offer sir, really! But I'm just confused as to why you had the chance to hire a professional assistant from across the world or something. Yet, you just randomly picked me?
Was this from some lucky draw?! ", I continued.
" Of course not! I'm just like any normal boss here. I would much prefer to hire a male assistant than a female, to avoid any confusion. As the boss, I stumbled upon your forum and scanned through your resume, you seem to be a pro in the photography field and master well with data handling? ", William added.
I nodded in agreement.
" Then I don't think it would cause you nor my reputation any harm. Besides, we're both guys, it's not like you're scared, right? ", he continued.
" Never scared sir! Just new to this! I promise! Well, since you said that my salary will be doubled, I can't say no to that. So I'll accept, however, under one condition. "
William quickly asked with an exciting and concerned voice, " Which is?".
I answered back, " You let my other sid- .... I mean! My cousin who also works here, do you mind if she could work during the night time? She's not feeling well, so I think it's best if she works during the night so that she could get some rest during the day. I think she can start tomorrow night. :) "
William gave me a nod and I smiled happily while at the back of my head, I wanted to repeatedly slap myself as I almost revealed my secret!
After telling him that, he finally let loose of my shoulder while saying, " Great. Thanks for the cooperation. You can continue to follow your schedule for the day, and wait for tomorrow. ". Then, he walked back into his office.
Once I knew the coast was clear, all I could say was, " FREEDOMM " in my mind of course.
" That was definitely a very weird experience. Seriously? Whatever, doing this to get more income! ", I reminded myself.
I then continued my work. Taking photos, arranging schedules, having meetings, it was quite tiring! That day I was fully packed! In my other body, I didn't need to handle with so much in just one day!
Strangely odd. But whatever, as long as I was working hard and gaining more income, it was fine. Main motto of mine at the time.
By the end of my shift, it was almost 8 o'clock. I packed up my stuff and as before I headed towards the exit, William ran up to me.
" Huh?! ", I said in a surprised tone.
He came close to my ear and whispered, " ~ See you tomorrow, assistant. ~ " and then he left.
My heart started beating like crazy again! It was an experience that I thought I would have never experienced nor would ever encounter again. The fact that my boss made my heart beat like that, other than my crazy ex and that one time, I saw my favourite idol on TV performing a ballad song. It was quite touching!
However, that wasn't the point! I couldn't fall for a man in this state! I just couldn't!
Then, I suddenly thought, " Wait, but I'm a guy right now, does that mean he's interested into GUYS!?! No, there's no way it's like that, maybe I'm just overreacting. I better be.. Well let's see how it all goes tomorrow. "
Anyways, I quickly met up with Emily by the entrance to walk back over to my place for dinner. Once we reached my apartment, Emily dragged me to the couch and asked me with curiosity, " Sooo, how did it go? Did you get the job? Where are you sitting now? Oh, by the way, did you hear about the new CEO, I heard from one of my friends he offered some really good looking guy to be his personal assistant. It's a shame though, I miss our old CEO :( "
In my head, I was trying to think on how in the world was I going to explain what actually happened to her. So I explained thoroughly to her.
After a 30 minute of explanation, I could finally catch my breath. But the look on Emily's face was priceless! She started fangirling .
" GURL THE CEO IS LITERALLY FALLING FOR YOU. I SWEAR TO G- SPILL MORE TEA. I DON'T CARE. ", Emily exclaimed.
But before I was about to listen to what else she had to say, I quickly excused myself and went to the bathroom to wash myself up.
Also using the bathroom as a guy was still difficult but I handled it with " proper skills ", I'm just kidding lol.
After washing myself up, I looked back at the mirror. My soul was back down to earth once again. I had turned back into my original body!
I squealed in excitement, " HOORAYYYY! AHHH! OH MAN! YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HAPPY I AM! THANK YOU LORDS! ".
Well at least I finally knew that I made the right decision of requesting for another new job.
Including the fact that I was living with two bodies from that day on! I looked back at my phone to check the exact time my body changed, it showed 10 o'clock. It really felt amazing having my old body back, man, I missed being a girl so much!
Well, I finally had time to surprise the gorilla who was waiting outside for me LOL, so I quickly dashed out of my bathroom and went straight to the living room.
I jumped out and suprised Emily with my original self! She looked stunned!
She screamed with joy while clapping her hands, " OMG YOU WERE RIGHT SELENA! YOU'RE GONNA BE A MILLION BUCKS IN THE DAY AND A NORMAL GIRL AT NIGHT! "
I face palmed myself then gave a quick slap to Emily on her face. I then asked, " Well, I remembered you came here for one certain reason and that was to NOT fangirl over me, but to have dinner with me right? So you better get your ass over to the dining table and start eating before I start kicking you out of my place HAHAHAHA "
She then replied, " Hey! No fair! I'm helping you by keeping your secret! Hmph! Well, do you think you can kick me out of here? No way! Not until I tell you everything that I wanted to say and to steal back some of your food for tomorrow :> So be prepared for the worst! HAHAHAHA "
Soon enough, Emily told me EVERYTHING while we were having dinner. And oh my goodness, from my point of view, she was the type who would be able to talk to someone for an hour straight without taking breaks! I had mad respect for her especially since I was her bestie... Right after Emily left, I quickly jumped onto my bed, went to sleep and prayed that tomorrow wasn't gonna be as exhausting as the first.
