"Don't mind them, Samson" Vanessa said ignoring Mark and Raymond. "You are happy. I can see the recent change in you, and if this human is the reason for your happiness. I say stick with her and enjoy every moment of it. Don't listen to these harbingers of doom" she concluded, rolling her eyes at Mark, who suddenly grabbed her by waist. She laughed aloud, and soon they were lying on the couch, laughing aloud as Mark tickled her.

Why couldn't he have something perfect like what they had? Samson wondered as he watched them. He had been there when Mark and Vanessa met. He watched them fall in love with each other and things seemed to keep going well for them. They were clearly meant to be together. Things were easy and uncomplicated for them. Why couldn't he have that. Why couldn't this just work out like that for him?

"So what did you mean if you didn't mean this?"

Samson heard Isabella's voice say, instantly bringing him back to the present.
