The evening was lively, with everyone in Greroth happy about the day. They literally had nothing to worry about anyway. At the moment, they could only think of one person, Alanor, but then again, he hadn't exactly been sane since the trip to the werewolf kingdom, Acrod.

"Alanor," Criselda said to Alanor, who was trying to avoid talking to them.

No, he wasn't angry at the witches, if anything he adored them more than anyone would have thought possible. There were just some situations he didn't want them involved in, and his fight with Edison was one of them.

He couldn't afford to lose Criselda because that would ruin him. It would break him into pieces that no one would be able to pick up, not when he had already rejected his better half. And he would then truly become a beast, an animal without a conscience.

He couldn't afford that.
