章 14: Lost part 1
The group had just left a camp, they had found with supplies and a motorcycle for Daryl. They were on the road with Daryl in front, on his motorcycle scouting. While Zane and Carl where looking out the window with nothing better to do, when their mother suddenly broke the silence.
Lori : "Just thinking about our trip to the grand canyon with Carl and Zane." she said while smiling while rick laughs.
Carl : "I don't remember that."
Lori : "No, You guys wouldn't. You and your brother were just baby's. Besides, We never made it past fort worth."
Rick : "No, You got sick. I never knew a baby could throw up so much." He said as he and Lori both laugh together.
Carl : "Ick." He said disgusted.
Lori : "Yeah ick. The doctor in Texas said you'd live. Then we turned around and drove home."
Carl : "That sucks."
Lori : "No, it was a good trip."
Rick : "The best."
Zane : "You always get sick big bro." He said making fun of him while laughing. Carl ignores him asking a question.
Carl : "Can we go see it? The Grand Canyon? I'd like too."
Zane : "Me too."
Sophia : "I would too. Can we go?"
Rick : "We'd never go without you and your mom. That's a promise."
After he said that everyone went quiet again, With nothing much happening when the suddenly stopped for a minute and there was a bunch of cars in front of them. When they start moving again they do it slowly as they try to navigate through all the cars. Suddenly the R.V. Stops and they get out of the car it broke down.
Dale : "I said it. Didn't I say it? A thousand times dead in the water."
Shane : "Problem, Dale?"
Dale : "Just a small matter of being stuck in the middle of nowhere with no hope of - - Okay that was dumb." He said as he realized there was cars all around them they could get supplies from.
Shane : "If you can't find a radiator hose here. . ."
Daryl : "There's a whole bunch of stuff we can find." He said while searching one of the cars trunks close to the group.
T-Dog : "I can siphon more fuel from these cars for a start."
Carol : "Maybe some water."
Glenn : "Or food."
Lori : "This is a grave yard." she said while everyone looks at her, she pauses for minute before finishing her sentence saying. "I don't know how I feel about this."
Shane: "Come on, Y'all. Just look around, Gather what you can."
After Shane said that everyone went around looking for supplies in the car's, With Zane and carl having to go with their mother. They stop by a car and see a dead person. Zane looks at the body and thinks to himself. "Will, I turn out like that someday. I wonder how, he died."
Carol : "Kids, don't look." Zane listens and stops looking and goes along with rest of them.
While they were searching for a bit carol finds a red blouse looking shirt, and puts it up to herself to see how she would look in it when Lori looked at her.
Carol : "Ed never let me wear things like this. We're gonna need clothes." She said while putting the shirt in the suitcase and grabbing it.
Lori : "Hey, Carl, Zane. Always within my sight, Okay?" They both nod their head yes letting their mother know they understand.
Carol : "You too, Sophia." She also nods letting her mother know she understands. Suddenly Rick runs over to where they are.
Rick : "Lori, Under the cars. Carl, Zane, Sophia get down now." They all run under cars with Zane and Sophia hiding together, and Carl hiding under the car next to them.
Carol : "Carl, Zane and Sophia. Sophia." As she try's to finish her sentence Lori puts her hand over her mouth, not letting her speak.
Lori : "Shh shh. Get under." She says pushing Carol under.
Suddenly all the walkers start flooding in walking by slowly making Zane anxious. But after a while when they thought all of them had passed Zane got his leg grabbed he pulled it away and he and Sophia ran off. with rick Quickly trying to follow after them.
