章 79: I Don't Hate You

Nathan already knew Sierra felt sorry for him because of the bare bones explanation he had given her the last time she had been annoyingly persistent about his recklessness. She could never see him as a man if she pitied him. He had accepted that some time ago. 

This was worse. Specifics were always worse than generics when it came to people feeling sorry for him. 

He didn't need that from anyone. He knew what he did and that he deserved what he got. No one could convince him otherwise so there was no point in trying. It only made him feel worse and had ever since he was a kid in foster care that everyone felt sorry for.

Nathan preferred not thinking about it period but so much had happened lately that kept bringing it to the forefront of his mind. He wanted his life back. The boring, predictable monotony from before he got involved with Sierra and became a superhero. Thinking he was the only one with powers had been easier than this.
