章 15: Time for training!
"Well that certainly was a worthwhile sight." Heph
"Yep, it is a fine sight for sore eyes on such a wintery island. Oh! The girls are better now?" Durin sees Nami and Mikita awake.
"Yes, we took care of the illnesses and we also got some new members with it." Lynx
"Really? Who are they?" Heph
"This are lopuns Buggs Bunny and Lola Bunny. They decided to join us to get stronger. And this over here is our new doctor, Tony Tony Chopper. He is a reindeer that ate a devil fruit, human type." I first point at the small lopun with raised ears, next one that has her ears hanging back and lastly Chopper.
"Ah, right. We wanted to ask ya about these devil fruits. What are they? We saw ya use thee abilities but thee times were urgent and we forgot to ask." Durin
"Ah right! Devil fruits are fruits that spawn randomly in this world. They are split into:
Logia types like ice, fire, magma, light,... They make the user into the element and are invulnerable like ghosts unless you use seastone or a special power called haki.
Zoan types turn you into half beast… or half human in Choppers case. Physical stats are boosted by a lot. Mythical zoan types also give special powers.
Paramecia types are the randoms. They can be so strong you can cause earthquakes and tsunamis with a punch in the air, or turn your body into rubber like Luffy's.
But be warned, they taste like shit and in seawater you become weak and you lose the ability to swim. That's the gist of it." Lynx
"It's true, it tastes like crap!" Luffy
"I can testify!" Chopper and Mikita.
"Sounds like something I would want! Dwarves are mostly underground and never near thee sea anyway." Durin
"Me neither, I never leave the city." Heph
"Well you do now, since you are coming with us on voyages!" Luffy laughs.
"Ah, right. Introduce yourself. I have one thing to do that I promised!" I carry Mikita back to bed before jumping off the ship, running somewhere.
They look at me weirdly but everyone introduces themselves.

Five minutes later, I come back with Braum's shield and a bunch of stuff on top. Coming on to the ship I get weird looks.
"Didn't you say you will just summon the shield back? What is the rest?" Usopp
"Supplies. Sanji, I bought some food and a lock. You know what for." Lynx
"FOOD!!!" Luffy jumps like a praying tiger when he gets shot into the floor by Sanji's kick.
"THIS IS FOR EVERYONE IDIOT!!!" Sanji screams at Luffy.
"But anyway, thanks Lynx. I will put it to good use… And sorry for what I said yesterday. I was worried as well and went too far." Sanji bows to apologize.
'Even if he is a perverted simp, he at least reflects back on his mistakes… I did get a punch off him so let's call it even.' Lynx
"It's alright, Sanji. But even if you are worried, don't prioritize someone over the other just because one is a woman. It doesn't make you heroic, but an asshole." I whisper as I pass him towards the kitchen.
Sanji tightens his fist but nods.
'Vivi ignored me after my outburst in the room. She didn't even shoo me away, but ignored me like I don't exist… But I can't help it, nothing can replace women in my heart! … But if I continue like that, I will be hated by all the women. I will need some training.' Sanji walks behind me to sort the food into the fridge and storage area and lock it all up.
Taking a bag out I go to Marianne.
"Thanks Marianne for looking after the ship and the girls. Here are the cookies." I place the bag into her hands.
"Thank you." She simply says and starts walking to sit inside in the warm kitchen.
"COOKIES!!!" Luffy charges again, only to be trapped inside a black drawing.
"Don't stay in the circle and don't behave." Marianne
"No I won't!" Luffy sits inside the circle and is still.
Marianne enters, sits on a chair and starts enjoying the cookies with tea.
"My cookies… Omnomnom." Marianne
"... Do we toast to new crewmates now or…?" Usopp
"Let's wait until the evening. We won't be getting him to behave anytime soon." Zoro
"Well, just bring me some blankets and someone will steer while I navigate." Nami
"Oh, yea! I found some weird metal. Do you guys want to look over it?" I ask the two smiths.
"What the hell is this? Some weird alloy… Beh, mithril is better. If ya want we can use this ta make scabbards for yer two sabres, so they don't destroy them after a few uses." Durin
"Yea, it's good metal but nothing comparable to monster materials." Heph
"... Forgot the bastard would make the metal after at least another year… Hey, do you think we could make memory metal? A special type of metal that after being finished, if it's bent, it returns to original shape after some time." I look at the two.
"... Ya on some mine powder? Such a metal doesn't exist." Durin
"It's possible in this world, but we need a special mixture for it to be made." Lynx
"... So we would have to blindly smelt stuff in this world in hope we get a certain alloy?" Durin
"First get us the seastone and then we can talk about more." Heph
"What do ya need it for anyway?" Durin
"Someone we will meet will need it… Well, then can we make the scabbards and some arrows from this stuff. I have good weapons, but can't carry them or use them like this. " Lynx
"*Sigh* Return us first so we can get our stuff and a small portable forge. We won't need any more for this." Heph
I return the two and will later call them back.
…
"So Crocodile is a hero in Alabasta?" Nami
The crew is talking on the deck, with some people fishing. I am on the deck sitting with a blindfold and the two lopuns striking me with a stick.
'Who in the world could say, they are training with Buggs bunny hahaha, ouch!' I got hit by the stick.
"Yes, the seven warlords are pirates that have been contracted by the navy. For pardoning their crimes they have to answer to the navy while also taking care of any encountered pirates. The people honestly don't care if pirates or the navy saves them, just that they are saved fast." Vivi
"Mihawk is also a warlord, but he has at least principles." My mention of Mihawk rouses Zoro from sleep, but he just looks at my weird training.
"Some hero this guy is." Sanji
"And no one even suspects that his real goal is to take over Alabasta." Nami
"Whatever, I just need to kick his Sandyass butt, right?" Luffy picked up my nickname for Crocodile.
"Yes, if we can end the rebellion and expel Baroque works from Alabasta, the country will be safe." Vivi
"But what is the Baroque works system? With these numbers and holidays?" Usopp
"The system is simple. Crocodile or Mr 0 is on the top, and taking orders from him are the pairs of agents. They all have code names. Men are numbers, women are days. Mr 13 and Miss Friday are exceptions as they execute any agent that fails their mission." Vivi
"Oh the otter and vulture?" Nami
"Yes. From Mikita and Mr 5 up, they are called officer agents. They all mostly have devil fruit powers. Under them are 200 lower officers that command the 1800 underlings." Vivi

What's left of them~ We got Mikita and Marianne, Mr 5 is dead, Mr 3 is probably alive somewhere barely surviving, I forced Mr 4 and Miss Merry Christmas to leave by revealing the identity of Sandyass. Robin is also secretly on our side. This leaves Mr 2 that we will probably meet soon, Mr 1 and Miss doublefinger. Damn I wrecked their numbers, hahahaha!" I start laughing but am then hit by Lola with the stick.
"Dude what are you doing? Is that training? We still have to start your sword training." Zoro walks closer.
"Do you guys remember what I said about the special power called haki?" Lynx
"Yea, the one that can hurt logia users, right?" Sanji
"Oh, you are training that? Let me join! I need to be hit by the stick right?" Braum
"Actually, you are not supposed to be hit. You see haki, is split into three types. You can forget about conquerors haki since only a few in millions possess it. But the other two are trainable by all.
Observational haki is like a sixth sense, it allows you to feel the surroundings so even if you are ambushed from behind, you 'see' them and are able to dodge with minimal movements.
Armament haki is using spiritual energy to harden your body and weapons so you are tougher to damage while you also can damage logia users with your body/weapon enchanted with it." Lynx
"So how do you train them?" Zoro
"... I have no idea! I only caught a glimpse that this is a way to train observation haki. Armament haki was never shown how to train." I sigh.
'Damn it Oda! Couldn't you just tell us how they are trained?! I love hard magic systems, not something you can't understand at all!' Lynx
"Lynx… Didn't you say that your energy is soul energy? Isn't that similar to spiritual energy?" Vivi
"... Can you excuse me for a bit?" I take off the blindfold and go bash my head against Braums shield.
"AH?! What are you doing in front of a doctooooor?!!!" Chopper runs at me pissed.
"Ah, sorry. Had to beat my stupidity out of my head." I step away from the shield with some blood dripping off my forehead.
[AN: In this fanfic, I will adapt the haki to my understanding. Observational haki will be dependant on your connection with the surrounding, slowly increasing your observational abilities and developing the sixth sense.
Armament haki will be used by using the energy of spirit/soul in Lynx's case. By training your body, you can increase the production of the energy and then use it to strengthen it. Lynx's soul growth with body development is slowed down, but he can absorb the energy from others when he directly kills them, though only a small part. Wapol gave a lot because his body was developed by the devil fruit.
Conqueror's haki is dependent on your will. Anyone can actually unlock it, but they need strong will and something to stimulate it. Basically like an Uchiha that has to open the mangekyo sharingan from resisting large amounts of stress. That's why they believe only a few people have it.
It's not canon, but I made it like this so I don't have to wreck my brain on figuring out how I can explain this shit xD ]
"Hey Luffy, stand here and flex your stomach muscles, I wanna try something!" Lynx
"Ah okay." Luffy walks closer and prepares himself.
Closing my eyes to feel the available soul energy.
'Oh, it seems I can use the free energy and the one from Durin and Heph, since they are not here.'
I slowly channel it into my right arm and make a layer on top of my skin with it. It took a few minutes but I can feel something on my arm. Nothing changes visually, but I still punch Luffy in the stomach.
"HEY! THAT HUUUURTS!!!" Luffy yells at me.
"Even when you are made from rubber?" I smile victoriously.
"Eh? No way! How did you do that! It felt the same as my grandpa's fist of love!" Luffy
"Feel the love of my fist as I make you into a fine marineeee!!!" I make my best impersonation of Garp.
It worked! The armament formed more quickly on my left arm as I hit Luffy.
"NOOOOO!!! GRANDPA WHAT DID YOU DO WITH LYNX?! GET AWAAAAAAYYYY!!!!" Luffy starts running away as I chase after him impersonating Garp.
"Why do you reject my familial love?! You should be happy to become a marine! Follow my footsteps! Bwahahaha!!!" I laugh as I continue to chase him under the confused eyes of everyone.
"Knock. It. OFF!" Nami and Vivi both ambushed me and hit my head.
"OW! What the hell?! Can't I have some fun?!" I act like a child that got his toy taken away.
Seeing veins popping up on their heads, I start running with Luffy.
"Damn, screw armament haki, I need observational haki ASAP!" I reaffirm my need for observational haki.
'Well at least I can now beat logia users without the need of my 1000 years of death baton… Speaking about it, The top half of it had its color brightened… Must have been in the asses for too long.' Lynx
"But if Luffy's grandpa was able to hurt him with this armament haki, he must be quite strong." Chopper
"Oh, his grandpa is the hero vice-admiral Monkey D Garp." I say while floating in the air out of reach of the girls.
"... WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!?!?!?!" Everyone's eyes bulge at Luffy besides the ones who haven't heard of Garp like Braum, Chopper, Annie, Buggs, Lola and the always calm Marianne.
'Hm, did she actually paint herself with calm green or something?' I consider her lack of expressions and desires.
"Yep, that's my grandpa!" Luffy
"If you are shocked by that, wait till you learn about his father." Lynx
"You know about my father?! Who is he?!" Luffy jumps up to me and grabs my leg.
"Didn't you say you don't like spoilers?" I smile at him.
"Knowing who he is doesn���t make a difference, hahaha!" Luffy
"You sure? Well alright! Luffy's dad is the leader of the revolutionary army, Monkey D Dragon. We actually met him in Logue town, when we were fighting Smokey." Lynx
This time they don't even know how to react.
"Heheh, fun right! The grandpa is a vice-admiral by the marines, the father is the revolutionary leader and we are with the son who plans to be the king of pirates." I smirk at everyone before landing on the ground near Lola and put on my blindfold again, staining it with blood.
"Let's continue for a bit more. Then let's have a spar Zoro, I need to start training to control my sabres." Lynx
"Fine but you will be my weight later. Your lemongirl is sick, so you will take her place." Zoro grins before falling asleep again.
…
"Damn it, unlocking observational haki is sh- I mean hard!" I take off my blindfold only to see Annie standing in front of me, mere inches from my face.
"Daddy, you aren't too hurt right?" Annie looks at me worriedly.
Touching my head I feel a lot of bumps on my head.
'I would train my armament haki, but I need all my concentration on trying to feel my surroundings.' Lynx
"I'm okay. These bumps will disappear in less than a few hours. Wait for me to spar with uncle Zoro and then we can play, okay?" I smile at my cute little pyromaniac daughter.
"Okay daddy! I will go ask uncle Braum to give me some of the milk! I wanna grow as big and strong as him!" Annie
"Oh you can Annie! Just make sure to not overdo it with muscles." I shiver thinking about a buff Annie like Braum.
'I ain't letting my cutie become like that!!!" Lynx
Annie skips away to Braum only for Zoro to walk over and toss me my sabers.
"Alright! First rule of a swordsman, you suck if you don't have any named swords. Your sabers could beat most swords in the world, but have no name. Give them one, since they are yours." Zoro
"Um they were a joint operation between me, Heph and Durin. I think they should be named by all of their creators." Lynx
"Fine, then we are going through the basic stances first. Now watch me and repeat it each of them 100 times for today. Else you would waste too much time and I won't be able to train my muscles." Zoro
First he taught me proper footwork and basic swings. Then Blocking. Thrusts. How to dodge. How to redirect. How to feint. He observed and pointed out mistakes in my swinging, since if I held them badly, he could knock them out of my hand. Spinning was also among the exercises.
[AN: In real life sword fights, DON'T SPIN and JUMP. It only makes you vulnerable, predictable and easy to push you to the floor. I actually do a bit of armored sword fighting to exhibit it on events and I fucking hate it when my opponents decide to spin around. "I can stab you. Stop it, get some help."

After training all of that, it was time for Zoro's training.
"Give me two tons." Zoro tells me the weight.
I climb up and sit on his legs as he is making standing push ups. I readjust my weight to two tons, place Annie to sit on my lap and start to play the violin.
Time passes by as he does different exercises and he switches my position to suit his exercises. the whole time the violin never stops.
By the end of the exercise we left the winter climate of Drum kingdom. Looking around I see two unfamiliar appearances.
"Wait is that you Buggs and Lola?" I look weirdly at the two.
After leaving the winter climate, they instantly changed. The fluffy white fur fell out and they slimmed down on the fat.
They both look like slim humans covered in short fur, bif rabbit paws, tail and rabbit head.
Buggs still has his standing ears, now he is gray and white. Lola on the other hand has her floppy ears hanging behind her head, she is light brown and pale yellow with some long blonde hair on top of her head.
"... Okay did Luffy also get the summoning ability and he summoned the real fucking Buggs and Lola bunny?!" Lynx
