"Why did you do that?" Lumielle queried.

"I was jealous of all the affection you were giving Rue," Asterias said. She looked at him with an incredulous expression. A sigh pressing past her lips as she placed a finger against her temple.

Why did she even ask when he was going to give her such an outrageous answer?

"If I win," Asterias said, "Will you enjoy the Festival with me?"

"I am enjoying the festival," Lumielle countered.

A laugh fluttered from his lips. Were his lashes always this long? They seemed to almost kiss the apex of his cheek, "But with me." His words were delicate as he gently pressed himself closer to her. His eyes growing a hint darker.
