// THIS IS AN OLD CHAPTER. THE NEW CHAPTERS ARE IN VOLUME 2. YOU CAN READ THESE CHAPTERS IF YOU WANT SOME INSIGHT ON WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN LATER BUT SOME EVENTS CAN BE DIFFERENT BETWEEN THE OLD AND NEW CHAPTERS.
I'm still loking for someone who can help correct the grammars error ^^. There's already a GitHub ready where you can read the chapters before they're released and I'm going to had a discord too. If you want to help, leave a comments :).

Today is the first day of the death of my vacation. Ephatalius apparated Susan and me to the school. The arrangement he has with my grandmother is that during the school year, they live in the castle, and during the holidays, they come back to live in Mystic Falls.
They should soon place a portkey in the castle to make it easier for us to travel back home after ours vacation classes. But in the meantime, Ephthalius is our main mean of transportation.
Once at the castle, Samael and another boy welcome us.
"Hey, Sean. Glad to see you. So, it's official now. You've finally made up your mind to join the best school in the world." Susan scowls when she hears this. It was hard for her to leave her home and all of her friends behind. Personally, I have confidence in Dumbledore's ability to destroy a single Horcrux and then defeat Voldemort. I gave him all the tools for the task after all.
"Hi Samael, who is your friend?" Samael bursts out laughing.
"It's okay relax, you're not in London anymore. You don't have to pretend you're polite and well behaved here. It's Ethan, he's on the integration program with me."
"Hi" Ethan is a not very tall but quite thin boy. His eyes are a little muddy brown with a hint of chestnut. With his brown hair cut short and his very thin face, he was not ugly but not exceptionally good looking either. He doesn't really seem like someone who likes to chat, either.
"Come on, Professor Carver is expecting us for your wand-making class." Samael drags us through the maze of Ilvermorny corridors. I try to be as careful as possible to remember the way, that will prevent me from getting lost later. "You'll see, he's a bit eccentric and strict but he's not mean. He's only bitten two students in his entire career and one of them deserve it." This is reassuring.
After about ten minutes of walking around the castle, we stop in front of the door of the room that Samael showed me on my last visit. Ethan knocks on the door before entering. "
"Mr. Sealost, how many times have I told you to wait for permission before entering? Do you want to pick up the wood chips with tweezers to give you time to think about your behavior?" He softened when he saw us walk through the door, I guess Ethan is his pet peeve. "Ah, here are our young students freshly transferred. Let me introduce myself, I'm Rigurd Carver, I give the spell class for the first years with Madame Klavers and I also take care of the week of initiation to the creation of magic wands with the others first-year teachers. I was the one who took care of repairing your wand when it was dug out from the ground and separated from the tree that had grown from it. A very difficult job in my opinion, it took a long time to cut the roots without damaging the magic paths from the core of the wand. It was truly a fascinating job. " I understand why Samael told us he was an old eccentric. He is completely fascinated with magic wands.
"Nice to meet you professor, I can't wait to start your lessons." Professor Carver is like the archetype of an eccentric. He has messy brown hair mixed with wood chips and sawdust. Which is quite fitting with his worn leather work apron and the goggles that rest on his forehead.
"You see that Sealost, a student that is both polite AND motivated by my class.
"At the same time, if your classes weren't so boring and unnecessarily difficult." Ethan is whispering and I must be the only one who can hear what he's saying in the room.
"And stop mumbling under your breath. If you have something to say, say it out loud like a man or keep your mouth shut." Ethan rolls his eyes, I put him in the category of the tortured youth. "Good, let's get started. I don't know if you have already been given your books for this year, so I took the liberty of fetching the books that we will need. You can take them home to study during the holidays but remember that they must be back at the library at the start of the school year. Mr. Sapin, our librarian, awaits their return as soon as possible. "
I take a look at the book. It's not very thick and it lists the materials already combined to successfully make a magic wand as well as a short description of the type of personality that the wand should have and the level of power that one can generally expect from that combination. I have already read a similar book in the library of Hogwarts but it had way more details, this one should be intended for beginners.
"Well, I'll let you walk through the book for the next hour. Then I'll ask you about the first ten types of wood, as well as the first five wand cores. As for you gentlemen, you can either take the opportunity to revise your magic wand-making basics or come back at noon to look for your comrades. "
"I think we're going to leave, good luck guys." Samael and Ethan close the door silently.
The class is not difficult when you have a photographic memory like mine. It only takes me ten minutes to fully memorize the book. On the other hand, I hear Susan whispering passages from the book to better memorize them. Meanwhile, Professor Carver is arranging pieces of wood next to each other. At the end of the hour, he makes us get up to join him.
"Well, let us see what you managed to remember after an hour of reading. Miss Bones, can you tell me which tree the first piece of wood came from. I'll give you a hint, look for patterns in the wood and test the rigidity. " Susan grabs the first piece of wood and begins to examine it and try to bend it slightly.
"I would say, alder, professor." Carver's face breaks into a big smile.
"That's correct, Miss Bones. You have the eyes of a wand maker, really good. And you Mr. Bones, can you tell me what the properties of alder wood wand are?"
"Alder wands often seek out wizards who are less assertive of their opinions and who are easier to convince. They are also very strong for unformulated spells and according to the Celtic calendar, wizards born between March 18 and April 14 have predispositions to own an alder wand. "
"Perfect answer, but I don't remember the birthdays predisposition being explained in this book." Ah, I've done too much again.
"Ah, I just read a book on the subject at Hogwarts before."
"I see. Okay now, let's talk a bit about the shaping techniques for each types of wood you see here."
After what seems like an eternity, the class finally comes to an end. For this morning at least, we still have lessons with him this afternoon. When we leave the classroom Samael and Ethan are already there waiting for us.
"So, you made it through a whole morning with Carver. It's hard enough when we are fifteen in the classroom. I barely imagine the hell it has to be when it's just two of you." I don't know what he's talking about. It is true that he is strict and that this course is not easy, but it is not hell either.
"I don't think it was that bad. He's a pretty good teacher and he loves what he teaches." Susan looks at me with disgust. I now notice that her eyes are bloodshot after spending so much time trying to memorize the contents of the book. Samael bursts out laughing and even Ethan gives us a slight smile.
"Come on, let's go grab something to eat." Samael drags us to the refectory. Unlike Hogwarts where the dishes appear in the middle of the table and everyone helps themselves. Here, you have to queue up with a tray to get the dish of the day. There is no choice, you must eat what you are served. The meals also seem to be more balanced than the diet at Hogwarts. This time, it's chicken aiguillette with cream sauce, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. We end up settling in the castle's magical creature menagerie to watch the creatures frolic quietly in the tall grass surrounding the lakes while the breeders place different kinds of food in the feeders.
Suddenly my attention is drawn to a woman lifting a sack of seed over her shoulders, Chenoa, the keeper of the thunderbird reserve.
"Who is that woman over there?" Samael follows my gaze and see Chenoa.
"Her? That's Professor Sicas. She started teaching the care of magical creature class last year when her little brother joined the school. She's a super hottie! Almost all of the boys took care of the magical creature because of her. " The description matches what she told me about her on the mountain. What is she doing here? I can't really go to see her without her realizing who I really am.
We sit back and chat for the rest of the lunch break, and after the afternoon wand-making class, Ephthalius takes us home.
