"Ah, I apologize I did not seem to be looking where I was going," I said with an annoyed mutter in my voice as I examined the book. I noticed the smirk appearing on Quirrel's face in the corner of my eye. I pretended not to notice and dusted my self off while I stood up. I grabbed a book sleeve that had fallen among the many items which Quirrel had mostly already gathered himself.
"A-hh I-I am v-v-very sorry for t-t-that," Quirrel stuttered, keeping up with his appearance. "it's fine," I said still dusting myself off, I looked at the book he held about dark magic and made my eyes sparkle like I was looking at the thing I desired most. I quickly shook off the look after Quirrel noticed and look down slightly. "W-would you l-like to s-s-see it?" Quirrel said suggesting towards his book.
I swallowed visibly and nodded. "If I may," I said faking my interest. He held out the book shakily and I reach for it as if I was scared it would fall. I read the title, Dark magic for young starters. "y-you c-an have it," He stuttered on " Only i-if y-you return i-it at h-h-hogwarts," He said giving a sickly smile that shook. I pretended to realize something and gave Quirrel a calculated stare.
"How did you know I would be going to Hogwarts," I said with a glare in his direction. Quirrel's smile stayed on and he looked at me with another smile. "I-I am t-t-the next P-Professor for d-defence a-a-against the dark a-arts," He said, I raised an eyebrow and looked at my books "I would like to have it," I said nodding to myself. "j-just return i-it," He said softly.
I nodded with a soft smile and said my goodbyes before getting my books packed up and paid for three knots in total. I walked out the door and turned back to Quirrel and nodded once more.
I smiled and walked out the door towards Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour. I walked out to the colourful building with a smile as I saw grandfather with big bags floating behind him and Grandmother giving hers to him. She had around seven more bags than necessary and I knew that she definitely bought in Madam Malkin's store.
Grandmother must not be able to stop herself from buying herself and my new dresses, I sighed. It was probably the only thing I knew well about her. She must always buy something extra in a clothing store.
"Hello grandfather, grandmother, " I smiled, grandfather huffed slightly at me being late while grandmother started blabbing about the new clothes she found while I looked at the ice creams in the parlour.
"The dresses are immaculate, all the boys shall be staring at you. I also placed some orders for simple pants and shirts for casual wear and you'll get married in no time. Just imagine all the heads turning your father would be furious," Grandmother ranted.
While she went one I stared in realization. If I became involved with boys, I could anger father. I could make him notice me in a different light than my mother. I could make him take me back. I felt the realization hit hard, yet even when I knew the end result, I did not want to do it.
I felt annoyed at the idea of having to entertain 11-year-old boy that knew nothing more than quidditch plays or how to tie their shoes. I could go for an older boy but it seemed even more unappealing for some reason. I didn't bother on it as I took a citrus melon sparkle ice cream that made my senses sharpen.
Tired...so tired
