Her voice echoed in the house, making him restless because this was exactly the question that he wanted to avoid. He didn't want to tell her that she had been marked. He didn't want to tell her that she could only be loved by one person in the entire universe, Lord Nubeous.

Even the thought of someone else touching her, gave him a sense of despair. So all that he could do was to lie because it was for the best that she didn't know. 

"Tell me Morpheous. What is it?"

"Because I am not here to stay Caroline. So what is the whole point of it. There… You have my answer." And saying that he turned his face away from her.

"Morpheous!"

"I cannot… I cannot think to violate you even for a second knowing that in the future there might be someone else who can love you more than me. Someone who is human."

"What the hell are you talking about?"
