章 114: I don't know how to thank you

That night was painful and long for Caroline as she kept tossing and turning on the bed. The sheets and the pillow covers had become the witness to her insanity.

She wanted to get down from the bed, walk up to Morpheous, and hold him from behind as he stood there, gazing out from the window, but she couldn't muster up the courage to do so. Minutes became hours, and she couldn't understand how they became so distant in the span of one night.

Lying listless on the bed, she had no idea when she fell into the embrace of sleep.

The following day, when she opened her eyes, she found a breakfast trolley beside her bed. Propping herself up, she sat on the bed and looked around. 

"Did he leave me again?" With her heart in her mouth, she dashed towards the door, but he walked in instead. She head-on bumped against him, but he grabbed her by her arm before she could fall.

"Where did you go?"
