章 33: The ball
Jasmine leads me to the lifts and as we wait for it to arrive she instructs me "push the alpha button in the lift then once you arrive do not enter the ball, wait near the lift, wolf will meet you there " I give a tight smile and nod my head I really didn't realize how nervous I am and on top of that I have knots in my stomach about seeing wolf, the last time I saw him I was stomping away from him but I'm also excited to see him and cant wait to be near him again the ding of the lift pulls me from my thoughts and I really didn't need the nudge from jasmine to know I needed to step in, I take a big gulp of air and reach to push the button labelled alpha "oh and Lissa don't forget ....have fun" jasmine says with a smile just before the doors close.
as the doors to the lift open I see the wolf standing by a huge vase of flowers with his back to me, as I step out of the lift he turns, my heart stops he looks so handsome in a tuxedo I freeze and just stare at him and his eyes are on me taking in my outfit then he's frowning and I'm sure iv has done something wrong, then his face clears and he walks towards me and smiles "hey" I say awkwardly "you look beautiful" he replies "thanks" I'm not sure why I'm so shy "right" he says "now when we go in you have to be polite at all times, don't leave my side and watch what you say "then as he starts to lead me to the giant doors he whispers "trust nobody," then he brushes his lips along my cheek and guides me through the doors.
The room is massive and fullof people dressed in expensive clothes ,we are handed glasses of champagne by a passing waiter and wolf leads me through the crowed ,i cant keep my head still the room is spectacular from the marble floors to the painted cathedral style ceiling ,i hear a snort beside me and look to see simon beside me "fancy isn't it " he says i smile and chuckle "im not sure we fit in here" he giggles again and puts on a posh accent " well im not sure we are meant to dear ,peasants like you and me don't belong in cathedrals" im about to reply when wolf pops his head between us and says "shut it both of you " so we both do as we are told and be quiet but not before i stick my tongue out at wolf who narrows his eyes at me but i swear i see the ghost of a smile,looking around i see Dreagon looking rediculas in a lime green suit and the red haired girl penny wearing hot pink shes holding Dreagons hand looking at him with puppy eyes "noticed have you "simon whispers to me i turn to see him watching dreagon and penny the same way i was ,im just about to reply when the crowed moves revealing a platform with four people sitting on thrones like royalty so im guessing this is the alpha family , there is an old man with white hair and a beard he has piercing blue evil looking eyes ,beside him is a tall woman with long blond hair she has a quiet look about her as if she tired of life ,she must be the wife then there is a blond girl and boy both have a spoilt look about them ,i notice that they are all wearing gold and crowns and tiaras as im watching them the girls eyes lock on mine and im frozen into place im terrified and get the distinct feeling that she hates me .
The man stands up and smiles so I look towards him "well hello everyone I'm president Carson and this is my family" he says as he sweeps his arm in the direction of his family" as you know you will be competing in some tasks so we can place you in the right job so you can help keep things running smoothly and we can all look after each other, now my son and daughter Blake and Bianca will come and meet you all and I hope you all make friends" and with that, he sits down but not before I hear the words "doubtful" and find dreagon and penny behind me when they see me they giggle before moving away, wolf leads me to a table and Simon follows we all sit and drink champagne I look around and frown "what" Simon asks "Well wheres your trainer and who is your trainer? a bark of laughter makes me jump "why im his trainer larissa" i slowly turn to see sam standing behind me and when i turn back wolf has a grin on his face all of a sudden it goes quiet around me and wolf is pulling me up by my elbow and i notice from the corner of my eye sam is also dragging simon up ,when i turn i see that the alphas peta and bianca are walking towards us beside them and a step behind is are two girls the one beside Blake has brown eyes and hair whilst the one beside bianca has blue eyes and dirty blond hair,as the reach they plaster big fake smiles on there faces "hello im bianca and this is my brother Blake my eyes go wide when i look at Blake and see he's learing at me ,bianca has a smirk on her face ,they are both ignoring simon which he looks relieved about when i look at the others sam and wolf have stoney expressions and the two girls with Blake and bianca look uncomfortable ,Blake leans forward and sniffs me i stand there unable to move "mmmmm you smell nice ,like apples can i take a bite? sam and wolf shift beside me , Blake notices the movement looks up and his smile gets wider all the while Bianca is watching with a smirk "well perhaps later" he smiles and walks away then he turns clicks his fingers and the brown-haired girl swiftly follows , Bianca has a wide smile on her face "well it been charming , come, Ellie, let's go "and with that, she also turns and leaves as she passes Ellie gives me a small shy smile which I return. "Come on its time to go," the Wolf says before pulling me towards the doors sam is also pulling Simon,
once we get to our floor Simon and sam say their goodnights and leave but not before giving wolf a meaningful look , then wolf guides me to my room, a the door he looks down at me then brushes his fingers along my cheek then says " we need to talk tomorrow at training " then he leaves I stand there disappointed then he turns back to me kisses me gently on the lips saya"oh and you really do look beautiful then leaves. I enter my bedroom with the biggest grin on my face.
