章 1: Prologue. Whitefall´s Myth
When Axis was a child, before his sisters were born, his father would never let him go to bed without telling him a good story. Sometimes he talked about gods and humans, and other times he talked about wizards and sorcerers, but Axis' favorites were always the ones that involved his race: the pixies.
Pixies were free beings who lived in small civilizations in forests and orchards. White Kingdom natives, famous for their fertile lands and magical agriculture, were seen as peaceful, responsible and sensitive workers, even though they barely had contact with the world outside their civilizations. The outside world would never describe a pixie as brave and fearless, but those in his father's legends were always full of courage.
Perhaps today, at the age of nineteen, he would not remember their names or most of their deeds, but he knew he would never forget one: the mighty Whitefall.
He would be omitting much of his childhood if he didn't confess that she was his greatest inspiration as a child. After all, for a boy so dreamy and with an unbendable future in front of him, it was impossible to not want to be in Whitefall's shoes. He played dress up in his house reliving the adventures of the pixie, waiting for a future as grand as hers.
As he grew up, however, he realized that Whitefall was not in any of the museums he visited.
Neither in his history books.
And not even in any of his friends' memories.
But he didn't care because, even though his favorite legend was created by his father's fertile imagination, she was still a source of inspiration, and would still bring him comfort in a future he couldn't explore.
