I originally was going to have this segment be a part of the next full-on review, but I wanted to kind of split things up and really celebrate the occasion you know? As I've said before in my 100th spotlight I originally did the webtoon spotlight as a side project to express my opinions.
I didn't expect it to become as popular and as wide-reaching as it is now.
To see it over the years become my most popular story on many writing sites, particularly nearing the 200k landmark on Webnovel was a more than welcome surprise. Having a fifth of a million sets of eyes on me is so mindblowing. So thanks to the people who helped me reach this point and thanks to the people who will be hereafter. I hope I managed to get you into some fun stories or opened your mind here.
Though I kind of went lowkey crazy while working on the content to get to this point. 21 spotlights in the span of a little less than two months are actually very cracked out, especially when you keep in mind that I do catch up with every series before I cover it on here. While I definitely now have a lot of new webtoons under my belt that I do like, I feel as though I've now reached the point where can I have a little bit more fun with the spotlights and cover a wider variety of topics.
So as of now the Webtoon part of the webtoon spotlight will start to get a little bit looser. For I will now be including manga, webcomics, and whatever else counts as a comic series. Most of the same rules will be applied here (30 chapters minimum, catch-up, etc.) but nonetheless, they will be covered so long as I catch up. However, since I usually cover manga more extensively in the Drako Files note to any reader of the series that mangas already covered there won't be making a spotlight here.
Secondly, I do wish to cover more niche webtoon analysis. I know I have already done countdowns and said character analysis before but the reason I've usually stayed away from most of them is usually due to my at the time, clumsy writing, and too much focus on recapping.
However I feel more confident in presenting a more indepth discussion on a webtoon's various characters, events and chapters in full. Nonetheless, the clustered format is still going to remain apparent. I like the idea of hitting people with multiple spotlights in a scheme, planning out to remain quality over quantity.
Other than all that, I guess that's all I really wanted to say. Once again thank you for getting Webtoon Spotlight to this point and I hope you enjoy the spotlights next to come.
