章 3: Chapter 2
Mahmood Hamdani was a very good friend of Hoorain. Mahmood was actually the adopted son of Rafiq Shah's best friend Junaid Ali Hamdani and he was the heir of the property after his death.
Both the best friends were childless and both of them were suffering from lack of children so they had adopted the children from the orphanage. Both children were well aware of this fact and were happy. After the death of Junaid Hamdani, Mahmood lived alone in his house and often came to stay at Rafiq Shah's house. Rafiq Shah and Nasreen Bano also never disagreed with him staying there and then he could handle the bad mood of Hoorain, he understood her, he took care of her. If she had to go out somewhere, she would go with Mahmood. They were very close to each other but for Hoorain, this closeness was only to the extent of friendship but Mahmood always liked Hoorain.
But for a few days, Rafiq Shah had been noticing the change in his daughter’s behavior and this change had taken place only after meeting Akbar Shah that all of a sudden she was acting like a lost puppy. Mahmood also noticed this but did not know the reason. He insisted on her a couple of times to tell him the truth behind her mysterious behavior.
At first Hoorain tried to put him off, but Mahmood did not give up. Eventually, she told him the whole story, and she believed that only Mahmood could help her. Mahmood listened to her calmly and remained silent for a few moments. Hoorain asked for his help in persuading Akbar Shah to meet Hoorain once.
Mahmood assured her that he would talk to Akbar Shah as soon as possible. But from inside, he was shocked as well as fuming and under the influence of his anger, he went to Akbar's office and threatened him.
He had to find a solution to this problem as soon as possible so that everything would be fine again. He immediately devised a plan by which he could get the girl he wanted. The threat he made to Akbar Shah was also well thought out. He knew that Akbar Shah must have ignored him as he only met Hoorain once and he could never have imagined that all those things would belong to Hoorain. He had made an excuse to her that he had gone but nowadays Akbar Shah is very busy so meeting is not appropriate yet even though it was all just an excuse to get a respite!
