章 126: The Cloaked Figure And His Partner

"I propose a toast," Connor suggested, also acknowledging Emma.

"You too, Em. You're a part of the team," he said. 

Emma smiled, her eyes gleaming with thankfulness.

"A toast, in celebration of the news of the newest addition to the Amarisian royal family, and everything we've gone through and endured as a team,"  Connor said. 

"To all of us," Lily said.

"To all of us," Emma repeated, all smiles. 

The four clinked glasses; Lily, Connor and James with their wine glasses and Emma with her water-glass. 

As the four chatted the night away, turning what was supposed to be a terrible night to be an amazing one. 

With what they had thought to have been all their troubles dealt with and settled, they didn't foresee what was coming their way. Even if their lives would change, that Emma and James were becoming parents in a span of nine months; they knew that they'd still have each other and that itself was enough.
