章 3: A Pokemon Showcase!
Pokemon: Wandering Soul Chapter 3
Dream World…
Soul slowly opened his eyes and looked up to the sky…
It was a gassy purple… along with the surroundings.
Soul stood up and observed the "creepy" place…
'I must be in my dream again…' Soul though as he now started to walk around.
This has started around the time he defeated the gym and every time he wakes up from this dream. He also keeps getting headaches and it hurts like hell.
But this had a… different vibe around it.
Usually, he can't move and just waits until he wakes up but this time, he can move around.
Soul then saw peculiar stones floating in the air. It had some sort of language…
As he got close, the engravings on the stone were flickering violently as all the stones that had the engravings seemingly resembled a puzzle when they were all connecting.
Soul then noticed the huge hole in the ground that was shaped in a perfect circle. The stones that Soul decided to call "runes" then floated on the hole and filled it up.
After a few seconds, there was a blank stone tablet without runes. Soul felt something on his hands and saw a peculiar symbol on it…
It was the symbol that was missing from the stone tablet.
Soul glanced around then slowly approached the stone and let his hand that had the rune touch it…
As he held his hand in place, he was slowly getting exhausted as he saw the stone absorbing the runes on his hand.
It glowed and suddenly, the world started to shake as a shadow of a huge Pokemon appeared in front of him…
Soul blankly stared at the huge shadowy figure in front of him, he sighed.
"So, it was you… Giratina." He said as if he already saw this "monstrosity" before.
The Renegade Pokemon stared at Soul while in its Origin form and bowed his head closer to Soul.
Its huge head was now in front of Soul as he slowly put a hand on its head and patted it.
Giratina opened its eyes and looks at Soul blankly and still silent.
"…say, aren't you the one Elios caught when he was 'Ultrawormhole Hopping'?" he said as Giratina seemingly nodded and let out a grunt.
"Why are you here?" Soul asked as suddenly an Ultra Ball appeared in his hand.
Soul's eyes slowly widened as he blankly stared at Giratina who stared at him back.
Soul then sighed and decided to ask something that he already knew the answer to.
"…you want to join me?" Soul said as Giratina looked at the Ultra Ball and him as it nodded.
Soul, as weird as this situation was, smiled a little and Giratina's head lowered a bit and he patted it again.
"…so, what now?" Soul said as he minimized the Ultra Ball then pocketed it and will register it later. He just needs to upgrade his slot of Pokemon to make it so he can hold more than six, that doesn't mean he can battle with 7 though.
Giratina tilted its head and then let out a roar as the world started fading.
Soul and Giratina looked at each other and bowed to each other in respect as Soul's vision went blank.
(Quick Note: There will be a somewhat huge event that needs a Legendary but don't worry, he won't use Giratina and will only use it for "that" certain event that I don't want to spoil. I know this "event"/"scene" is supposed to be in a "final" chapter of some sort but for me, it fits here. The Giratina here isn't the "original" Giratina that was from the anime. It is from an alternate universe where Giratina controlled its power and it's own Arceus allowed it to travel.)
In the Real World.
Snow, Hunter, and Mimik were worried about their trainer as he suddenly got a high fever. Snow had her "hands" on her trainer's head as she slowly made his temperature to normal.
Hunter went out to get some water from the nurse. He didn't want to bother Nurse Joy with taking care of their trainer since it was a busy day and many people were lined up for their Pokemon to be healed.
Hunter also helped as a type of "emotional" support for Snow as she was the most worried about the tree.
Mimik "cursed" himself because he can't help his trainer and most people would just be scared of him. He tried to also help Snow "emotionally" but it didn't work. Mimik already knows their "relationship". It started when Snow evolved into a Frosslass.
Mimik stared at his trainer with guilt.
Hunter then noticed his look and hooted gaining the attention of the Disguise Pokemon. Hunter hooted again and threw a towel to him which Mimik caught with his Shadow Claws, which made him look at Hunter questioningly.
Hunter then pointed to a basin of water which made Mimik now realize what Hunter was getting at.
Mimik carefully dipped the towel into the basin, slowly submerging. Mimik then took out the towel and squeezed it a bit and gave it to Snow as she smiled and took the towel in her hands and use her ice powers to cool it.
She slowly put it on her trainer's head and finally sighed in contentment.
It seemed like Hunter calmed her down a bit.
Hunter hooted and thanked Mimik as he also "smiled" and looked at Hunter with thanks.
They all slowly huddled up to their trainer and "sighed" as they still looked at their trainer in worry…
A few minutes later
Soul's eyes slowly opened while his vision cleared. Mimik noticed this and let out a small "SKRI" to get Hunter and Snow's attention.
Snow's eyes widened as she floated and dropped herself onto Soul gently whose eyes were now widened in surprise.
Hunter then hooted which prompted Soul to look at the owl. Hunter stared at him for a few seconds then at Soul's pocket which had the Ultra Ball in it. Hunter then narrowed his eyebrows at the pocket and slowly, his face showed on how awestruck he was.
Soul laughed while hugging the Froslass who accepted the hug. Slowly, Soul released her from his grip and floated to Hunter then kissed him on the cheek. To which Hunter stood "frozen" in shock to which Snow giggled while Mimik and Soul looked at each other and laughed at Hunter's situation.
The stopped laughing and looked at Soul who was dusting himself.
Soul looked at them.
"…Thank you, for everything," Soul said to his Pokemon which responded with their cries as Soul returned Snow and Mimik after he fed them Rainbow Poke Beans.
After a few seconds, Hunter looked at Soul and demanded answers on how he got the Ultra Ball.
Hunter recognized the Ultra Ball that was used to catch the Giratina, he was there with Elios because he borrowed Hunter to catching it, which surprised him.
Soul looked at his pocket then gave Hunter a shrug as the Decidueye did his version of a facepalm.
Hunter sighed and looked at the Ultra Ball again and at his trainer and hooted. He "magically" took out a map from a shadow, it was a modified "Phantom Force".
Soul grimaced looking at the shadow and remembered the many pranks they have done with it.
Hunter laughed at his reaction and threw the map at Soul.
Soul scanned the map and saw "Lavere" on the map.
"Fairy-type gym, huh?" Soul said as he remembered how strong some of the Fairy-types were. He saw a Mega Mawile while fighting in the Battle Tree. He even fought a Champion Level Comfey to which he was surprised about. Then the Totem Ribombee he fought with Hunter.
All fairy types are never to be judged…
Soul smiled and threw the map at Hunter who snatched it and placed it back in his "shadow pocket".
Soul then went to his bag and took a pair of headphones. He wore it on his head and threw one at Hunter who smirked and lowered his hood.
(Just search a Decidueye without its hood and imagine it is a shiny)
Then, Hunter wore the headset and put up his hood again and smiled. Zap, the Rotom Phone, floated to Hunter and showed a list of songs.
(Beneath the Mask, Persona 5)
The song played and Soul smiled at Hunter's song choice. They went out of there room and saw Nurse Joy.
Soul thanked Nurse Joy and said goodbye to which she also said farewell. They continued until they reached the place where Route 14 was supposed to be.
They continued and finally reached Route 14 to which Hunter decided to go the easy way. Since nobody was there, Hunter slowly charged up his Ghost-type energy and used Phantom Force and they appeared somewhere not far from the entrance of Lavere City.
If they magically appeared in the middle of the city, they would most likely have a hard time explaining things.
Then the Ultra Ball in Soul's pocket wiggled. In the ball, Giratina praised Hunter's mastery of "shadows" to which he accepted.
While the song was still playing, they entered the city and felt a barrier like feeling…
Soul narrowed his eyes at the feeling but ignored it and both Pokemon and trainer continued to the Pokecenter.
After a few minutes, they finally arrived at the Pokecenter and booked a room then immediately went out to explore the city.
"…this place looks nice," Soul said out loud. They decided to listen to music later and admired the scenery. Hunter nodded at what his trainer said.
Hunter decided to stay out of his shadow so he could see the scenery more.
"Hey, maybe I should let Snow out and let you have your little 'date'?" Soul teased his starter as Hunter responded with a blank stare. Soul shook his head with a smile amused with Hunter.
Hunter nodded to his reply, so, Soul let out the Froslass. Snow looked at her surroundings and saw Hunter wink at her which made her blush. Snow giggled and floated to Hunter's side.
"Be careful, ok?" Soul said to his 2 Pokemon to which they nodded. Nobody was out here since they gathered to where a Pokemon Showcase was to be held.
Hunter gathered up power again and used Phantom Force and teleported with Snow who knows where.
Soul then heard a flash and saw Mimik beside him.
"Want to come with me for now? Hunter is with Snow right now." Soul said. Mimikyu did a small screech of joy and laughed a bit when he heard that Hunter was with Snow.
Soul went and walked around and visited some places.
Meanwhile…
"Monsieur Pierre! What are we going to do?!" One of the staff said as he was stressed about something.
"Kalos Queen Aria is late! What would the people say if THE Kalos Queen was late for a Pokemon Showcase?!" The others joined in.
"She had something really important to do!" Pierre said as he was annoyed by the staff's ranting.
"What is more important than her attending the Pokemon Showcases?!" A guy yelled.
Monsieur Pierre snapped at the guy and glared at him which looked like 'She has her own life.'. The guy then backed off at his glare that eventually faded.
He treats Aria as one of his students, like the others. You could say he was a second father to Aria.
"…how about we find someone to stall the show?" A guy inquired, getting all the other's attention including Monsieur Pierre's.
"Then hop to it!" Monsieur Pierre said as the staff quickly exited through the back door.
Monsieur Pierre sighed. He wasn't this demanding. He was just mad about what the last guy said about his "daughter/student". He shook his head and prepared for the worse, everybody was expecting to see the Kalos Queen herself.
He just prayed that the staff would find a perfect candidate…
Soul walked around with Mimik alongside him. They already saw the gym but there was a sign that said that the Gym Leader was unavailable and was at the Pokemon Showcase. They just wandered around and saw people with uniforms dashing towards him…
'…uh' Soul said while Mimikyu started to get tenser. Then, a wall that was from Mimik's Shadow Claw erected in front of Soul as he heard multiple thuds and groans. Mimik lowered his claw and observed the 5 strangers.
One of them woke up and comically did a dogeza in front of Soul.
"Sir! Please help us in our endeavor." Idiot 1 said. Then was followed by the others.
"Yes, sir! Please help us!" Idiot 2, 3, 4, and 5 said as they did a dogeza also.
Fortunately, no one was near them because nearly all of them were at the place where the Pokemon Showcase is held.
Soul weirdly stared at them for a minute and looked at Mimik who did his version of a shrug.
"…why do you need my help exactly?" Soul asked.
"We just need you to do a little performance so that we can stall time for the Kalos Queen to arrive." Idiot 2 said as he was punched on the head by Idiot 5.
"You weren't supposed to say that…" Idiot 5 said glaring at Idiot 2 who rubbed his head.
"…you mean in the Pokemon Showcase?" Soul has heard about these Pokemon Showcases before, it was similar to the Pokemon Contests that were held in Hoenn or Sinnoh, but the difference is that only females were allowed to join.
They all nodded.
"Please! I don't want to lose this job. I have a family to feed!" Idiot 4 said as he was hit by the head by the other idiots
"We all have families!" The others said at Idiot 4 who kept silent.
There was silence and then Mimik let out a screech that said that he wanted to go.
Soul looked at Mimik then remembered the Pokedex Entry.
Mimikyu's disguise is modeled after Pikachu because of the popularity of Pikachu-styled merchandise, thinking that its disguise would allow it to make friends with people.
Unfortunately, this attempt makes it disguise look creepier. The rag it wears allows Mimikyu to avoid attacks. If its rag is damaged or its neck is broken, it will spend all night patching it in front of a mirror as if its life depends on it. Repairing the rag correctly is often difficult for Mimikyu, so it cries a lot on the inside.
He remembered also how Mimikyus would hunt anyone who knew of its identity like, even going as far as to cost its life, but Mimik wasn't that kind of Mimikyu.
"…sure, won't hurt to try right?" Soul said while the 5 idiots cheered and Mimikyu let out a happy screech.
"Follow us!" One of the idiots said as Soul followed them.
"…this, will be interesting," Soul said as the Ultra Ball in his pocket shook. Mimik let out a happy screech again.
Mimik will show the world what they have missed…

DarkTSM (Author's Note: You people are lucky that instead of me having writer's block, I have student's block which prevents me from thinking to much about school.
Anyway, Soul has Giratina now and has now been invited to perform a bit in the Pokemon Showcase that was being held at Lavere City.
Sorry if I made the reason why he "joined" the showcase a bit forced but yeah, I hope you will like the next chapter.
I have nothing much to say but…
Please follow and read Flyg0n's fanfics, they are pretty good if I do say so myself. He has helped me decide on many things about this fanfic and it made me motivated further to make this one.
I plan on making another fanfic after this one hits like 10 chapters? That would keep me motivated to write more.
Sorry for making Soul have a Legendary Pokemon, I just thought it fits.
