Jade gulped visibly. She had tried and wanted to take her eyes off Xander, but no matter how she forced herself mentally, she found her eyes still glued to his body. 

"Jade, are you okay?"

"Huh?"

"I asked if you were okay. You seem a bit flushed."

Reluctantly, Jade redirected her focus from Xander after being discovered while playfully batting her eyelashes at Jay. "Oh, I'm doing just fine." 

Instead of challenging her lie, Jay raised his eyebrows and gazed at her curiously. 

"Huh… I must admit, I'm feeling a bit fatigued," Jade added, hoping he bought her excuse. 

"Hmm, well, I'm sure you'll be fine after a good night's sleep. If you're not up for today's little celebrations, you can retire. I'll help you tell Xander…"

"Noo." Jade rushed to his front, blocking his path. "It's all good."

"Jade."

"I mean it. I do not want to bother Xander. He… look, he's enjoying himself."
