Amy and Taylor scrambled down from the ledge and onto the path below. The path felt firm and strong beneath Taylor's feet, well capable of supporting their joint weight without crumbling. They followed the trail down the cliff face, stepping carefully around its many twists and turns. Taylor thought the trail seemed to grow wider and more secure as they walked. "Are you ok, Amy" she looked over her shoulder at her friend, the path still too narrow to enable the girls to walk side by side.
"I'm ok," Amy mumbled. "But I'd rather be walking anywhere else than here." Her eyes remained fixed on her feet as she followed Taylor carefully down the path.
They rounded another bend and suddenly there was Geodhun, perched on a small outcrop of rock and waiting for them as calmly as if he were waiting for a bus. He yawned widely and stretched out his wings as the girls hurried thankfully towards him.
