President Xue raised his hand and interrupted Wei Yong. "Just tell me, do we have the patent?"

Wei Yong tightened his fists instinctively. He could not figure out the reason for the question. He paused for a couple of seconds and replied., "We could not get the patent."

President Xue narrowed his eyes before looking at Wei Yong. "Were you unable to get it? Or does someone else already own the patent?"

Even though the president's voice sounded completely normal, Wei Yong could detect the severity in his tone. Wei Yong knew it was impossible to lie about it, so he replied candidly., "I didn't expect the students to apply for the patent as well."
