章 15: Temptation is the most effective bait

Aina !"
As soon as the mysterious yet enchanting male voice stopped echoeing, a purple light flickered.
A long ray of purple light illuminated in an arc across the air.
General Ye's hand that was holding the spear abruptly turned sluggish. The momentum of the spear that was thrusting towards the Su Ya's slowed down considerably. The spear slowed down and slowed down before it finally came to halt, not even reaching near the target.

His intimidating face still has that cold smile and cruel look, only there was no signs of life in his eyes.
The headless bloody body lingered in that position for a while before falling down to a side, painting the grass on the ground with red.
"General Ye.."

"Great General.."
"Thi- this.."
The sudden turn of events made the other armed guards terrified. They stood there mouth agape, petrified. Fear and terror filled expressions appeared on their faces. A cold feeling gripped their hearts making them shiver uncontrollably.
The strongest of them, one of important figures of the kingdom was killed just that? With no sound, no weapon, no disturbance, no retaliation; smooth and swift, as if he was a powerless chicken. At least a chicken can retialiate, but he died instantly without awareness or any resistance. How could they not feel terrified?
"Oops, I just wanted you to chop his hand off, but you cut off his head instead. You are too cruel, little Aina."
The mysterious and enchanting male voice echoed once again. Turning their heads, a sight they will never forget in their lives entered their eyes. Not too far, there was a huge flower throne that seems to be extension of the unusual coloured blades of grass on the ground.
A beautiful young man in white and gold coloured equisitive clothes sat on the throne leisurly. The young man gave off a feeling of otherworldly and omnipotent as if he is an Immortal God King from high heavens that everyone should kneel down and worship him.
There is a silver colour fox-shaped mask on his face concealing most of his features. They could only see his mouth that held a light smile and his pair of bewitching icy blue eyes that seem to contain some magical charm to them. They alone are enough make them feel awe and shame in inferiority.
If the young man's aura and presence are enough to make them feel awe, there is something else that made them doubt reality.
Palm sized glowing bodies, star light emitting butterfly wings double their sizes, art-like beauty and graceful nobility..
The guards couldn't believe what they are seeing.
Fairies ! The fantasy creatures that only existed in stories.
There are 4 different colour fairies with crowns on their heads revolving around the otherworldly young man sitting on the throne.
For a moment, the armed guards forgot about their prince condition, their King's order, the death of general Ye.. they stood there motionless as if they lost their souls.
"Big brother thinks I'm cruel? so big brother not like me anymore..?"
Aina made a pitiful expresssion and revolved around Ling Tian conquettishly. Even though she just killed a person, no trace abnormality could be seen on her cute face. It's not just her, the other fairies also looked normal. Even Zia, the most gentle and pure one among them didn't show much expression. It was as if killing is not a big deal but as normal as breathing.
They said something about Primordial War of Gods and Devils, right? May they were used to war and killing?
Whatever, it is better if they are not as kind and benevolent as they were told in legends. In this world, benevolence is nothing but nuisance. It will definitely bite back some day and cause demise.
"Ofcouse not. How could I bear to not like you when you are so cute.."
Patting Aina's small head with his finger, Ling Tian smiled.
Aina hugged that finger and rubbed her head against it cutely.
"She no is not cute. It is me who is more cute.. ah right, big brother why are you wearing a mask? it's so ugly.."
Elia flew around the silver mask on his face and asked curiously.
"Let me tell you secret. Wearing a mask will make you look more powerful and mysterious."
Ling Tian laughed teasingly.
Infact the main reason is though his new identity is master of the Profane Palace Sect now, his previous identity as the prince of Great Ling Empire still has it's use. Before achieving a few objectives, he shouldn't mix them up.
"Oh I see.. I should make one myself then. I will the be the most mysterious fairy queen in future."
Elia's eyes shone as she mumbled to herself.
Ling Tian and other 3 fairy queens laughed at her Elia's stupid and naive cute expression. Finally he turned his eyes towards the intruders.
That one glance is enough to pull the guards out of their reverie due to seeing legendary fairies. They felt as they were put under the pressure of a huge mountain. Quickly dropping onto their knees, they spoke fearfully.
"Revered master, please forgive us for intruding. We don't know that revered master secluded in this place. If we knew before, we would neve-"
"Ok ok stop the bullshit. I don't want to hear anything. You people can leave now."
Ling Tian's indifferent reply made them dazed.
Leave? they can leave?
Witnessing the miracle fairies, they knew that they stepped into a forbidden land and found a massive secret that they shouldn't. They pretty much lost the hope to survive. But now this hidden peerless expert said they can leave, how can they not feel surprised?
So the hidden expert doesn't care if they spill out this secret?
They didn't have time to think about anything. They had to leave this cursed land as soon as possible while their heads are still intact.
"Thank you revered master for forgiving these lowly ones. We will never disturb your seclusion. Please excuse us."
They quickly got up and turned away hastily, without even sparing a glance at their prince. Who cares about some dead or live prince while their lives on the line.
"Wait "
Ling suddenly said making the guards' hearts and bodies freeze.
"Since you are my first visitors, how can I let you leave empty-handed. Here are some gifts."
Ling Tian laughed and flickered his fingers. Dozens of fairies carrying all kinds of fruits and elixirs appeared flying from afar. They flew towards those guards and gave those things to them before flying away.
The guards sighed in relief. Not thinking much about those gifts, they casually put them into their pockets and thanked Ling Tian profusely before hastily running away. What they didn't know was that those casual gifts will stir up a huge storm in Eastern Coastal Region.
"Temptation is most effective bait. In this world there is sufficiency for a man's need but not for a man's greed.
With those things, I don't have to go out. Flies will flock here by themselves. Then I can start my plan."
Ling Tian laughed genty and finally turned to the kneeling girl.
