Alastair snapped out of his fury, and he examined the old matron who was protecting the girl. Even though she was scared, she was more worried about the girl, and this got her his appreciation. The old matron really cared for Samantha. Now, he had no choice but to reveal the truth. Otherwise, he was sure that she would not allow the girl to leave, and Alastair had to take Samantha with her today. Moreover, he was yet to find out how the old lady spotted that Samantha was special.

"Lady, may I speak with you alone?" Alastair titled his head, looking at Lily keenly. Though he was asking her permission, Lily knew that he was ordering her. She could detect the underlying threat in his tone, and it was menacing.
