"Why?" she asked him. Trying hard not to break down, trying to be bold in front of him. Even after three years, to Dariya, Devon's changes were unacceptable. Dariya was forced to change her high school. And after graduation forced to go to university they chose for her. Dariya was forcefully split from her gang of friends. Dariya was pulled out all of her sports activities. Dariya was stopped from her extra pottery classes. A free-spirited girl locked up to be a woman the society accepted the right way. To Nara's family that was all activities underprivileged people did. And to Devon, those were the final words. To Nara, it was the same. She had no dreams to do anything, to accomplish anything under her own identity and she saw every woman that way and expected them all to be that way. So Dariya couldn't expect more from her but feel only empathy that somewhere inside Nara everything must have been crushed so bad that she had accepted everything.
"Dariya, why don't you still get it? You are not a child to play around. You are growing up. You are going to be engaged. Stop putting up the show." Devon said.
"Putting up a show" she chuckled amidst the tears. "Only 21 and Do you think I will stand and let you get me engaged to another rich bastard who is deprived of human emotions and qualities, just like you?" She uttered some really harsh words. Devon looked so shocked and Nara took him back to their room. He had nothing to say back to her. Deep inside he knew well. He knew where everything went wrong. And he knew fixing that is going to be really hard. And the only way he found was trying to bring Dariya his way, which went wrong in every way.
Devon was close to tears seeing the state his little sister has turned herself into. He sat at the end of his bed, his head rested in his hands unsure of what to do. But to Nara, these were all strange. To Nara fun was alien. Nara heard of the stories the family she is married through the photographs and maids, how they lived and shared their lives. She wondered and felt shocked about how they lived like that before. To her, it was unacceptable unlike in her house, where they didn't even know which room which family member used and slept in. Only meeting in the dining during the meal times and in the hall when the guest or media appears, to Nara there was nothing else in her home to live for. But instead of leaving those qualities behind, she brought it here along with her.
Dariya slowly came down the stair and sat in the floor where she just dumped the photos and frames. She touched them not caring about the broken glasses. She cut her hands as she collected those photos back one by one and sat there crying without making noise. Molly, the maid walked towards her. Dariya leaned on her shoulders, crying. Molly held her and calmed her down. Molly had worked in the house from the time Dariya was born. Along with her mother, Molly had looked after her till this moment. Molly knew Dariya's soul that people have often failed to.
"Dariya" Nara called out seeing the scene of Molly, a maid consoling her horrifyingly. Molly moved back and went back to the kitchen while Dariya sped back to her own room. She went to bed straight not wanting to waste time crying. Their parents were not home to see this, their children fighting each other. They were on a trip away from home for a month. Dariya felt glad that her parents aren't home to see this.

Aaliyah_Stark_ A broken family will lead to build many broken hearts.Just like Dariya, growing up in a different atmosphere and later forced to choose things she is not used to and hate, by her own brother It would only hurt more than thinking it would change the person, forcing then to do it. If only Devon did things right.
