Clair slammed the door closed and she leaned on it. She took deep breaths in and calmed her anger down. "Calm down." She mumbled with an urge to kill. 'I still have anger issues.' She chuckled at that thought. She would surely kill someone if she could.
Habits are really hard to get rid off….
She walked inside her shower and she filled up her bathtub. She stripped naked and entered the tub. She relaxed when she felt the warm water. She sighed and closed her eyes. "Marriage is fine. It is not like you were planning on finding someone to love anyway." She mumbled.
"Right. Ainara doesn't need love and neither does Clair. That will never change." She continued and her shoulders relaxed. She felt her anger disappear slowly and she went back to normal.
After her bath was done she came out with a towel wrapped around her body. She looked around for her special product and realized that she had run out of it. "The last bottle is at home." She remembered.
"I should make more at the lab."
She walked towards her closet and took out the suitcase that the maid had brought in. She opened and took out some underwear. She went inside the walk-in closet and looked through the sleeping wear section. This room was arranged for her a long time ago but she rarely used it and never really spent the night in this mansion. She always preferred her room back at her place because it was more comfortable and less luxurious.
She found a black lace pajama set and she put it on. She then fell on the bed with an exhausted sigh. It didn't take much time for her to fall asleep.
"Sir, the young miss is asleep should I call her down for dinner?" The maid asked. "No, let her sleep." He replied and turned to Yaci. "You should spend the night here. I already asked a maid to send your suitcase to the guest room." He told her and Yaci declined the offer.
Thank you but my daughter should be waiting for me at home." She replied. "Alright say hi to Grace for then. Lukas will drive you home." He said and glanced at Lukas who nodded his head in response.
"Sure." Yaci nodded her head and didn't protest because she knew very damn well that she needed a ride.
Lukas opened the door for Yaci and she thanked him shortly before entering. She put on her seat belt and waited for him to do the same. Lukas turned on the car and spoke. "How's Grace doing?" He asked.
Yaci smiled thinking about her daughter. "She's growing faster nowadays." She responded happily. "That's good. I haven't seen her since last month." He told her.
"You should take a day off on Friday. I will take both of you and Grace out." He told her and Yaci shook her head. "No thank you." She answered with no explanation whatsoever. He sighed in response. "I won't be taking a no for an answer." He said.
Yaci ignored him and looked out the window. No matter what he attempts she will always be far from his reach. When they first met he had a horrible impression of her because she had a daughter at such a young age. She was hurt by his mean words and she distanced herself from him more and more.
She hated the fact that he believed the rumors about her more than her. He judged her for being a single mom. He told her mean words just the rest of the world. He also thought of her as a woman who slept around and ended up pregnant. He never bothered to check his facts.
At that time she has just gotten out of an abusive relationship. She was saved by Clair and if it weren't for her help she would not even face Lukas. But now he acts so gentle with her and her daughter. Although Clair explained to her that he finally came to his senses but she still doesn't want anything to with him.
She didn't like the fact that Clair had to beat the sh*t out of him before he could finally understand her situation. She wished that there would have been more maturity on his part.
Lukas gripped the steering wheel tightly. He wished to go and beat up his past self. He liked her and was very upset when everyone told him about her. They said her hobby was sleeping around with any guy she met. He was so stupid to believe all those lies and he f*ucked up badly.
The ride ended in silence. "Thank you for the ride." She said in a neutral tone and walked away. He watched her leaving back until she entered her house.
He sighed and drove away. "I'll make it up to you." He thought.
…..
"Brother are you not bothered about the marriage?" Adan asked. He turned to look at his brother who was typing on his computer with a nonchalant expression. "Not at all." He replied. "But you're marrying a stranger. I thought you liked Miss Yves." He complained.
"Isn't that why you wanted to sign the contract with her company?" He asked again. "They are the same person. I wasn't trying to please her it's simple business." His brother replied and closet the computer. He got up with his hands in his pockets and came out of his study room. Adan followed behind him with a confused expression.
"Oh, I thought you liked her. So you were only doing that because you know you are getting married?" He asked again and his brother nodded. "It doesn't matter who I marry as long as she's capable enough to be my queen I don't care." His brother replied.
"Ah! Well, that's pitiful because she thinks you have slept with all those women." Adan mumbled remembering his conversation with Clair.
His brother halted and turned to face him. "What exactly did you say?" He asked.
"I didn't say anything. She simply misunderstood. She's quite fierce and scary so I wasn't brave enough to defend you sorry bro." Adan apologized with a nervous smile.
" She can think what she wants it doesn't matter." His brother shrugged and continued walking indifferently. Adan sighed. "I thought you were interested in her. She's pretty." Adan mumbled.
"Do you perhaps want a picture?" He asked his brother. "No need." His brother replied. "Brother, shouldn't you do some investigation on her?" Adan asked him with curiosity. He felt relieved that his brother was answering his questions because he usually doesn't. "I heard she's adopted. She isn't really of royal blood nor was she raised with noble ethic." He added.
"I know. The Yves house is one of our closest allies. Father chose them because he trusts the Yves house the other houses aren't trustworthy. I'm sure he knows what he's doing." His brother answered and walked down the stairs.
"Let's eat dinner. You are lucky you aren't the one having an arranged marriage." His brother told him and Adan sighed.
