章 37: Chapter 37- Mina
Clive took the blood stained tissue from her hands like it was the best treasure in the world.
With his glasses hanging down his nose he gazed up at her. "Reya, do you know what this is?" he whispered with unrestrained enthusiasm.
"Yes I am aware what it is," Reya rolled her eyes.
Clive glared at her. "NO you dont. this is....this is a miracle. a medical marvel. a..."
"a blood stained tissue." Reya stopped him mid sentence. "I got it okay. I hope you use it to find cure for Mina soon,"
Clive held the tissue delicately and walked slowly to his table. only after he placed it in a box did he let out a deep breath.
"yes definitely. I wont go back on my word. Hoo before I forget I need to do a check up on her and I also need her complete medical reports." he said without looking up.
Reya nodded and agreed. This guy, even though he seemed like a fanatic, was a good man. she beleived that he would not do anything to hurt her precious Mina.
she sat there is his office for a long time watching him hurry to many of the medical equipments. he was also mumbling something to himself and scratching his head constantly.
Seeing him so concentrated doing something, I shouldn't disturb him,' Reya thought.
she slowly got up and left the room unnoticed. Reya even closed the door after her slowly and let out a deep breath.
"I hope he can find a cure. I hope so.... Goddess Artemis If you are listening please help. I do not want my sister to suffer any more," She prayed.
without any detour she strode over to her baby sister's room. she had been little too tired to come down for dinner and Reya missed her a lot.
She slowly opened the door and entered. The room was completely emerged on darkness. shuffling around Reya walked over to the general direction of the bed. but along the way she bumped into a lot of things. when they just arrived she had randomly tossed around all their things
"darn I need to clean this room up," She muttered as she stumbled past many mysterious items.
After such hurdle she reached herbbed safely. with soft footsteps she got in and pulled the duvet over her cold body.
"Reya?" Mina whispered hoarsely.
All the effort she took not to wake her sister up went to waste. "Mina baby, sorry did I wake you?" Reya whispered.
"Nope," Mina whispered and rolled over to her. She hugged her waist tightly and curled herself. "Are you really sick Reya?"
Reya was shocked for a second. she didn't even tell her mother about her diagnosis then how did her sister know.
"nothing's wrong with me baby. I'm totally healthy," Reya whispered cheerfully.
Mina didnt answer her immediately. instead she hugged her close and started sobbing.
"oh baby, what's wrong? why are you crying? is it hurting somewhere?" Reya panicked. she could feel her little sisters warm tears soak through her thin tshirt.
Mina shook her head and sobbed even louder.
"Shit," Reya tried getting out of bed but Mi a stopped her. teh light switches were quite far from teh bed so she only picked up the torchlight she kept next to her and lit the room.
Her baby sister's tear stained face was teh first thing she noticed.
"Mina, where is it hurting? tell me okay, I'll call teh kind doctor to make it go away," Reya softly coaxed her baby sister.
After sobbing for a long time Mina gazed up. "Reya, why are you lying to me? you are sick too. but....but you asked that doctor to save me. why? I want to protect you too. I want to save you too. so why do you always sacrifice yourself for me," she shouted.
"That's not true baby. km fine. I'm not sick," Reya tried coaxing her in fear of her health getting worse. everytime Mina gets too emotional her cancer flares up.
"You lier. I heard you.... 'sob' I heard you talk with that man. I heard him say that your organs are failing. I heard everything," she sobbed loudly.
Reya hugged her tight and patted her back. "Its...its not that bad. I'm super healthy.and I even eat healthy you know that right? nothing will happen to me,"
"No! you always lie to me. I know that you are very very sick," Mina cried. "But this time I'll save you....I'll definitely save you Reya. cuz I love you so much," suddenly her entire body started to glow blue. her veins, like little roots popped out, making her look like an earthen elf.
