"Wise choice, Mr. Jiedo." (Erik)
"Apparently, this [Strategic-Level Magician] is also a Yotsuba." (Erik)
"Nani the fuck!?"
***
"Well Mr. Zhou, it was my pleasure...I hope we never meet again." (Erik)
"What can I say except...the feelings are mutual, Mr. Saltzman." (Zhou)
Erik ignored Zhou's words and nodded towards the older man before sitting inside the black sedan; Yotsuba Miya following behind him.
Zhou had escorted him to his car and wanted nothing more than to return to his master's side...as soon as possible.
It has been few hours since Erik's conversation with Zhou and Jiedo ended; concerning the trade of information between them.
The Old man had agreed to let him use the [Hliðskjálf] in exchange for the nuclear codes.
And It took the latter...20 minutes to finally find the thing he was searching for...but it was well worth it!
You may wonder...really?
When one of the few sages uses the [Hliðskjálf]...they are unable to delete their search history.
Therefore the other 7-sages could potentially figure out what he was after.
Fortunately for Erik, he was using Jiedo's "account" to access the [Hliðskjálf] so he didn't have to worry about others finding his identity and intentions.
After the search...Erik held his end of the bargain and handed over the USB drive containing the nuclear codes and the bunker location to the founder of [No Head Dragon].
He then bid farewell to the master-student pair and left for the airport...to his private jet so that he could return to Japan immediately.
Due to the [Generators] attacking the competition, the competition was postponed for a week which allowed Erik to travel to China and find Zhou.
But now it was time for him to return as the [Newcomer's Events] was about to begin after a week's break.
---
(Back at the hotel)
*vroom!*
Zhou gazed at the black sedan for one last time before turning around and walking towards the lift.
*ding!*
A soft sound resounded throughout the metal frame as the metal door parted ways and allowed Zhou to enter the lift.
Entering it, he pressed a sequence of numbers which turned out to be some kind of code that took him underground; beneath the hotel.
The conversation he and his teacher just had with Erik was playing in his head as he tried to make sense out of the situation.
*ding!*
The familiar sound resounded throughout the metal frame and the door parted ways; once again.
Zhou stepped out and started walking towards the end of the corridor where he saw his teacher...lost in thoughts.
---
"Was it okay for you to let him use [Hliðskjálf] in exchange for the nuclear codes?" (Zhou)
Hearing Zhou's question, Jiedo turned to look towards his student and shook his head.
"No...but I let him use the machine for a reason." (Jiedo)
The Old man, of course, wasn't someone with a big heart or anything!
No...he just like others had a motive for agreeing to Erik's request.
"Think about it, Zhou." (Jiedo)
"That man was able to kidnap and brainwash, a Yotsuba!" (Jiedo)
"And not just any Yotsuba but the current Clanhead's elder sister, for christ's sake!" (Jiedo)
"This, of course, goes to show just how much power he has...not to mention, he too seems to dislike the Yotsuba clan." (Jiedo)
"If we can turn his dislike to hate! Then the Yotsuba would be.....finished!" (Jiedo)
"With his money and status, we would be able to fulfill our plans way ahead than previously predicted." (Jiedo)
"I sold him a favor...so that when the time comes; we could also cash-in one in exchange...in-case we ever needed!" (Jiedo)
"So...for the moment keep an eye on him and prepare to retrieve the nuclear missiles from the bunker." (Jiedo)
"Yes, teacher!..." (Zhou)
---
(Inside the black sedan)
"I don't feel remorseful but I want you to know that sacrifices are necessary to create a stable world." (Erik)
"Even so, I will keep my promise to you." (Erik)
"Tatsuya will live to enter the new world." (Erik)
Erik and Miya sat in silence as the car headed towards the airport, the former was well aware that his actions had worsened the relationship between them but he didn't care.
He had to find the third piece of the [Dream Technology] so that he could finally focus on finding the last piece and bring about "True peace!".
And thankfully he finally had the location of the third piece of the [Dream Technology].
He had said this many times... he knew what was needed to be done!
He was willing to do the necessary in order to achieve his goals!
As long as Jiedo and Zhou lived, more deaths would follow!
More and more children would lose their parents!
More and more lives would be ruined by them and the upcoming future would just get even worse!
And for what!?
How many more people would need to die because of this stupid conflict between them and the Yotsuba clan!?
Why should the people have to pay for the actions they didn't commit!?
For the things, they didn't deserve to go through!?
Erik wouldn't stand for such pointless conflict and destruction!
Even if he had to murder every last person on both sides....he would do so without blinking an eye!
Sure it was risky, giving them the nuclear codes but he was confident in setting Tatsuya up against them.
People may call him a hypocrite saying that "Oh!... wHy DoN't He KiLl ThEm If He HaTeS tHeM sO much!?"
Simple...he didn't have to!
There was too much evil in the world for him to waste his time by trying to eradicate only a small part of it; if that makes sense.
He was a master-strategist who took great pride in his skills.
He knew that he could manipulate Tatsuya into fighting the criminal organization while he focuses on putting an end to all of it!
And hopefully, he would be able to get rid of [No Head Dragon] once and for all.
Now, you may wonder, where did his confidence come from?
Well for starters... he had the power to peek into the future so, of course, he was confident in his abilities.
So anyway, he boarded his private jet to Japan.
