'Who is that guy?' Ivan walked hurriedly over to them with Fenrir by his side.
Ivan noticed another three young men standing at the side of Thea, Naina, and the person embracing her currently. Their hands were holding onto the reins of the horses beside them.
"Ahem!" Ivan coughed a little as he reached near them.
"Ivan! Kyle, this is the man who saved me from the bandits. If not for him, I would be..." Naina said almost immediately after seeing Ivan coming back to them with Fenrir.
Ivan had already guessed that the person hugging Naina might be Kyle, her little brother, or she would not have let any man other than family come in such close contact. Even if his guess was wrong and the young man with a fair complexion plus a warrior build turned out to be a lover of Naina, it would have meant nothing to Ivan.
His heart still rejects this strange and foreign world. He cannot or does not want to form close relationships with the inhabitants of this world. Not to mention, the contact between Naina and Ivan had not been more than sixteen hours.
Ivan still has hope that he will go back to earth and wake up from this dream. It made the frugal Ivan give away some of the money he earned from the system to the people he feels excellent pity for and reduces their plight. As for Eva, the little girl from Wild Wolf Village, Ivan had saved her and do not want to see her die the next day. Therefore, he wants to help in solving the crisis.
Naina explained to Kyle how Ivan had saved her from the bandits and then brought her safely to the city.
Kyle also turned to look at Ivan. Suddenly, he took a step forward, bowed, and said, "Thank you very much, Ivan. I will forever be in debt to you. My big sister means everything to me. You did save not only her but also me... If you ever find yourself in trouble that you cannot solve in this city or any place else, please come and find me, Kyle Wheelbarrow. I vow never to think twice, even if you want me to cross hell for you. God of War, Rahaila will be my witness."
Ivan's face twitched. He understood that Kyle was a little emotional on seeing his big sister safe and sound. Therefore Kyle's hormones made him say words that may seem a bit over the top and made it difficult for Ivan to believe that Kyle would really go through fire for him.
But the reaction from Naina, Thea, and the other three men suggested something entirely different than what Ivan had thought.
Naina was going to say something, but she stopped, but Thea said nonetheless and in a grave tone, "Kyle, vows are not to be taken and said lightly, especially when you make Gods bear witness to an oath with their name. You cannot back down if that day comes, or there will be consequences, severe consequences."
"Thea, I'm fully aware of the consequences, and my words are not spoken lightly. Kyle replied as he looked towards Thea, and then he turned to face his big sister.
"Aunt Daisy should have told you, Miss Thea, that after our mother died, while I was just two years old, it was big sis who took care of me and started looking after me from then until the time came for me to come here. Father never had that kind of time since he had to worry about bringing bread to our table. I fully know what my sister had sacrificed so that I could have the chance to become a warrior. You can't imagine what kind of place big sister has in my heart. If something bad had happened to her..." Kyle stopped himself. He took a deep breath before again looking back at Ivan.
"Brother Ivan, you have my friendship and my words that I said before stay true. You have any problems in the future, I, Kyle Wheelbarrow, will be there to help you."
Thea sighed. She looked at Kyle as if she was looking not looking at a boy but a grown-up man. It was the same for Naina, who always thought of her younger brother as a child that needed her attention and care.
Ivan nodded and shook Kyle's hands when he raised his arm.
"Kyle, I think Ivan and Naina might need your help now rather than in the future," Thea said to Kyle. She explained to him about Eva, the little girl that Naina and Ivan saved yesterday night, and about the predicament faced by the wild wolf village. She also told him how they were just about to head towards the village to stop the City guards from pursuing the two thieves.
Kyle's brows furrowed in thought when he heard Paison's shop being mentioned.
"Kyle? Already having second thoughts?" Thea joked when she saw Kyle not speaking for some time.
Kyle smiled and said, "It's not like that, Miss Thea. I'm thinking about how to deal with this situation. After all, the backers of Merchant Paison are not to be taken lightly... But I will give my help to save the village and father of the little girl that they saved."
"Good! But don't worry, I have a plan. With you coming together with us, my plan will be implemented even better. Let's go; we should hurry. Time is not on our side. I will explain to you all about my plan on the way." Thea said.
Kyle nodded and immediately shouted at the three men that came with him, "Sam, Willy, Tim, you guys will coming with us, get on your horses."
"Yes, master" The three guys seemed to be servants of Kyle since they referred to him as Master.
"You bought another slave," Thea asked.
"Yes, they help a lot when I go hunting in the forest," Kyle explained. He then took the fourth horse's reins from Willy's hand and beckoned Naina to ride with him.
Naina looked at Ivan and Fenrir for a moment before she took Kyle's hand. Kyle quickly lifted his big sister and helped her sit on the back of the horse.
Ivan also sat on Fenrir's back and looked at Thea, who already had her horse by her side. It seems while Ivan had gone back to bring his wolf, Thea, who owns the inn, must have called a servant to carry a spare horse for her use.
"Let's go."
