章 13: The Announcement
Shay slowly released from the hug as he looked deep in his creation's eyes seeing a blue glow as her face seemed to have more color as if she was really human. His mouth gaped slightly as he felt his heart warm up by the sight of her smiling so sweetly while looking back at him. "Jess.. How do you feel?" He asked while feeling another tear fall from his dry tear filled face.
Jess looked down at her body while touching the amulet. Seeing it glowing a bright yellow she looked up at Shay. "I feel amazing. I never felt this way before. What is this thing? I can feel it forcing positive aura and other things I never once felt." She said with a tear falling off her face. Shay's eyes widen as he saw an actual tear fall from her cheek.
Shay's heart was going so fast his emotions suddenly all let out as he threw her in a massive hug while crying in her shoulder. Feeling her hug back was everything he wanted as he saw her as a part of him. The fact she was showing love and affection was unbelievable to him as she was only a drawing at one point but now he knew she is no longer a drawing. She's a human in his eyes. "Jess, do you want to go outside and show everyone your new look and personality?" He asked while pulling away and wiping his face.
"Yeah, I'd really like that." Jess said so full of glee.
At that moment they saw Muriel waking up while Bebe was still next to her placing a spell on her. "Huh, what happened?" Muriel asked holding her head while looking around. She stopped when she saw Jess. Her eyes grew wide as she quickly got on her feet and threw herself in a hug while not caring Shay was technically still hugging Jess too. Jess smiled so big as she closed her eyes loving the affection from her two favorite people who were practically the closest thing to a mother and a father in her eyes.
"I'll leave you three alone." Bebe said while catching the hint this was a meaningful moment for the three. As she left the house Muriel looked up at Shay, her heart beat out of her chest when he saw the look on his face while looking at Bebe. 'Why doesn't he ever look at me that way?'
Shay looked back at Muriel then at Jess. "Are you happy she isn't attached to you anymore Muriel? Now you will know what it's like to be free from her death grip on you." Shay said while giving a small smile seeing Jess loving the affection Muriel and him were giving her.
"Yeah, I guess." Muriel said with a saddened tone she couldn't hide.
"Hey, you'll get used to the new change. I know it's difficult to see her grow up but it's for the best. Things change and we should all look forward to this new life we have in front of us." Shay said while looking back at the door.
"Why don't we all go outside and introduce the New Jess?"
Muriel couldn't look away from Shay as he was facing away from her. "Yeah, I can't wait." She said trying to hide the cracking in her voice as she felt as if she was about to cry. 'So much has changed in just a short amount of time. Shay is clearly interested in this new girl, it was easy to hide how I felt when I had Jess attached to me. A part of me wants to be happy for him but... why can't I accept this new change?'

The three left the house as Shay noticed Bebe was waiting next to the door. Shay smiled as he wanted to thank her in a better way than a simple 'thank you'. 'Maybe I should draw her something. I'll do that while we are sitting near the fire.' He thought to himself while the four walked to the fire pit.
Muriel stayed close to Jess as she felt more jealous and upset just seeing the two getting so close. Jess rubbed Muriel's back as she saw what was going on. "It's okay, your way prettier than she is in my opinion. I think it's the fact they have similar interests."
Muriel looked over at Jess shocked she actually understood what was going on. "W-What?" She asked getting flustered.
"Shay and that girl. They have the same look those two in that movie. You know that movie you watched on your phone earlier. Plus with this new amulet, I can actually feel a little spark between the two? Have you noticed?" Jess asked while looking at Muriel.
"Yeah I can feel it." Muriel said while trying her best to avoid stealing a quick glance at the two.
As the four approached the fire pit all eyes were on them as Bebe and Shay sat on the ground as they agreed to compare their books again. Shay however had a different idea as he got out his pen and began drawing while using the fire as a light source.
"What are you drawing?" Bebe asked while trying to peek.
Shay turned the book so she couldn't see as he wanted it to be a surprise. "You'll see shortly." He said while quickly sketching a long stemmed rose but leaving out the thorns. Bebe grew more curious but she was excited to see what he was up to. After about three minutes he set the book on the ground while signing on the bottom right. Bebe tried to take a quick peek before it quickly appeared while covered in the same wrap the amulet was before. Bebe looked at him slightly confused. "Why don't you open it?" Shay asked in a shy tone.
Bebe felt her heart flutter in anticipation as she grabbed the unknown object. While slowly unwrapping the gauze she could see little bits of what was hiding underneath.
"I wanted to thank you for what you did with Jess and to show my thanks I wanted to give you something only I could." Shay said while looking up at her face to see her reaction once she revealed what was underneath. Bebe took the last remaining wrap off as it showed a fully bloomed rose that was completely black. Her cheeks began to hurt as her smile was so deep. "What do think?" Shay asked while feeling slightly concerned he should have put more time and effort in the drawing.
Bebe looked up at him with burning cheeks of flattery. "It's amazing, I can't believe you this for me." She said while admiring the flower in her hands.
"You don't think it could look better?" Shay asked while thinking to himself, 'I wanted to make something just as beautiful as the person receiving it.'
Bebe looked up at him slightly taken back by his words. "What, are you kidding me? This is incredible, thank you so much." She said while wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug. Shay's face grew extremely hot as he wasn't expecting a hug. With his heart beating out of his chest he nervously returned the hug. Bebe released from the hug while continuing to admire the rose as she seemed so fascinated she was holding something so rare even she never thought she would possess. Her attention was back on Shay when she heard the ripping of paper. Looking over, she saw him holding a page from his notebook that he then handed to her. Taking it, her mouth gaped open with a faint gasp as she saw the drawing of the rose she was holding in her other hand.
"As long as the page doesn't get destroyed in anyway, the creation doesn't deteriorate meaning it won't ever wilt or die. So I want you to have it." 'If she really doesn't like it she can destroy it.' He thought to himself.
Bebe was so flattered she couldn't find the right words. She grabbed her grimware as she was nervous the page would somehow get destroyed. Shay watched as she manually flipped her book to the back where he could see a few of her small sketches. A smile crept on his face as she closed the book while looking up at him. "Trust me, it's safe with me" Shay's heart fluttered as he was shocked she would put it such a place of honor. "Hey can you wait here? I want to show Wendy what you made for me?" She asked while she climbed back on her feet.
"Uh yeah sure. I'll be right here." Shay said while trying to keep his emotions together. While seeing her run off to her best friend, he couldn't help but let out a deep breath realizing he found another important person in his life.

Muriel was with Y/N and Jess while she couldn't look away from Shay and Bebe's interaction. While watching Bebe run to Wendy she looked back at Shay seeing him still eyeing Bebe as she was running off. Fire sparked in Muriel's heart as she realized he was falling for her. She couldn't hold back the tears from building in her eyes. 'Get a hold of yourself Muriel. There's nothing you can do.'
"Hey Muriel, you okay?" Y/N asked while glancing up from her phone.
"Oh uhh yeah." Muriel lied between her teeth.
"Really, because your happiness vibe is a lot less intoxicating all the sudden. Is it 'dad' being with another girl bothering you?" Y/N teased.
"Don't call him that!!" Muriel snapped uncontrollably.
"Damn, must be bothering you THAT bad huh?"
"I don't want to talk about it." Muriel said while crossing her arms feeling her smile fading even more.
"Hey, I'm sorry this is happening but you must know those two honestly seem good for each other. We know you two had this little thing but it seemed like there was something missing. Maybe this is the right person he belongs with. Honestly we are starting to think you belong with someone else yourself." Y/N said while leaning back on her seat getting comfortable.
Muriel looked deeply into the fire watching the sparks rise to the top then fade into the midnight sky. 'What she said I never even thought of. Why am I even focused so much on HIM? I should just enjoy myself.' Muriel looked over at Jess and Y/N as they were watching something they normally wouldn't be watching.
"Y/N, you know there's something different about you lately."
"What do you mean?" Y/N asked while not breaking eye contact with the film.
"I can't put my finger on it but your starting to act differently. Like why are you even watching this? You never watch anything like this. What made that change all the sudden?"
"I don't know. Why does it matter?"
"This is what I mean, your even speaking differently. What's going on?"
"What's going on is your asking me strange question."
"What she means is, you seem like you don't give a fuck lately." Jess said while looking up from the film.
"I really don't know what your talking about." Y/N said with a blank expression.
"Wait, I have an idea." Jess said while running over to Molly.
"Molly, have you noticed anything different about Y/N lately?"
Molly looked up with a dazed look in her face. "Y/N? Yeah she's been different ever since that training match. Now that I think about it. She did absorb that fire boy's power. Maybe you should ask him about it." Molly said while slurring her words slightly.
"Wait, how has she been acting exactly?" Kenny asked as his words weren't coming out any better.
"Well I'm not going to say what Jess said exactly but she seems to not care as much. She's very open and more blunt than usual."
"Huh, reminds me of Flamer or there when he got his powers. She didn't get some kinda temper did she?" Kenny asked.
"Uhh no?"
"Well I think your fine for now. That's something we have to deal with and trust me you could easily die from his little temper tantrum." Kenny teased while turning his head to face Kyle but his focus wasn't all there.
"Wait, your saying when she absorbed his power. She also absorbed some of his personality?"
"Could easily be that way. I don't know how her power works but it makes sense. I mean we asked him what happened and he told us how she couldn't control the fire in her. He had to take it away from her and I guess somehow she got a little bit of him in her." He giggled to himself. "My best choice of words."
Muriel brushed the comment off as she looked over at the one known as Kyle. 'I guess that could make sense, that means she could have his temper too. Which would be a problem. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.'
