First, you saw the hate in his eyes and now he is being rude. Something is going on and you need to know what it is. So, you decide to keep quiet and just watch what is going on.

"Nick... I mean Mr. Roberts, I am only coming by to check on my patient and you are my patient. So please tell me how are your leg feeling?"
