I study Cyril's face for any look of disgust and sigh under my breath when there's nothing of the sort, he just looks mortified and… scared?

I'm not exactly sure why I'm pushing so hard, why? I don't have to but strangely my heart feels queasy when I think of him getting hurt… shit I need to dial back, a couple hundred meters of tangled emotions.

Maybe that's why people stayed far away from me because I'm a territorial Hellhound with glaring OCD tendencies, people call it controlling but I'm just doing my best to keep a friend safe.

Maybe I should have let my dad remarry, if I had a younger sibling to protect maybe my instincts wouldn't be spilling out so violently at the first chance it got.

That's a lot of maybes…

"Why?" I ask in confusion, it obviously the only thing that seems to stay in his stomach, food seems even harder to ingest than the blood and I'm getting really worried.
