Duchess Grandis hummed in melody as she arranged the flowers she personally picked. The day couldn't be any brighter even though the sky seemed to pour out the first snow of the year. The coldness didn't matter, her heart has been warmed by the news of her husband coming home before Cailina's birthday.

She brushed her hands together and smiled at her work. The porcelain vase was a gift from the Third Consort, a token of appreciation of their friendship. Duchess Grandis touched one of the flowers as she was reminded of how shallow the Consort's smile as she was handing out her gift.

The Duchess's lively mood was felt throughout the mansion. The servants were less tensed doing their works as the mistress of the house was no longer at the edge of throwing daggers.
