章 36: WS: Beast Hunting [7]
Eugene turn his head and saw the lion hit the mountain rock causing it to collapse.
Walking forward, he only dropped a look at Rasiel who is being healed by Casimin before looking above to see the white lion king. It's too fast, in just a few minutes the companion of the lion already arrived and attack Rasiel whom they saw threaten the life of their king.
"Kaizer---"
Eugene was startled when Kaizer suddenly appeared beside him and held his wrist.
"Why? Why can't you see me?" it was said in a low voice, but Eugene heard it and couldn't help but get goosebumps when he saw Kaizer's eyes.
"Are you crazy?!"
Eugene pulls his hand and glares at Kaizer who suddenly frowns while holding his head: "This is a battlefield, if you want to survive don't let your emotions overcome your mind. If you continue making it difficult for me, I will leave with my group."
"No---ngh." Kaizer couldn't help but squat when the pain in his head intensified.
Don't leave me.
I'm sorry. Please, look at me.
"You--" Eugene was startled and held Kaizer's shoulder: "What's wrong with you?"
When Grand Duke Karsten saw his son suffering from head pain again, he couldn't help but feel sad, after all, he didn't do anything when he found out the cause of his son's suffering. The reason is not because he doesn't care about that soul but because the soul inside his son's body is too strong that he can't forcefully eliminate it or his son will die.
The only way is to put back each soul into its respective body.
However, that means awakening his eldest son.
...The child that he sealed inside his second son's body. That unexpectedly broke into defense and come back to reclaim its body. Grand Duke Karsten is afraid that it will be a huge problem since no one in the empire except Duke Arkiton knows that he had two sons.
A docile and a monster one.
"Eugene. Eugene my head hurts, m-my brother is angry."
"Brother?" Eugene couldn't understand but still let Kaizer grab his hand tightly: "Stay here, the monsters are preparing to attack. Casimin already finishes treating Rasiel, he'll come to you."
"N-No..."
Eugene actually didn't care about Kaizer so he pull back his arms and leave him to face the attack of the lion beast, afraid that if it took longer, Timber would be in danger. His action made him fail to see the changes in Kaizer's eyes but Casimin who is on his way to Kaizer froze in fear, not wanting to get close as if at any minute, Kaizer would grab his neck and kill him.
Grand Duke Karsten clenches his fist.
He is still confident that his eldest son won't be able to awaken soon.
And now, he is also certain that Eugene's existence has something to do with his eldest son. Probably there is something about Eugene that attracted his eldest who is in deep slumber. If that's the case then it is definite that Eugene would have to marry Kaizer because Eugene is the only medicine he could see that could tame his eldest.
I'm sorry Eugene. But I would have you sacrifice yourself.
"Marquis Shradinza."
Marquis Shradinza snort: "What?"
"I'll do it, under the emperor's decree, I'll make you give up Eugene to marry my son once the coming-of-age ceremony is done."
Marquis Shradinza: "!!!"
Marquis Shradinza stood up from his seat and grab the grand duke's clothes in anger: "Katnier! For the sake of our old friendship, I'm warning you! Don't use the emperor to make me bow my head! I already let off of many things, don't control my son's marriage!"
Everyone stood up from their seat to ease up the two.
"Marquis Shradinza calm down."
"That's right, no matter what's the problem you can talk about it without---"
Grand Duke Karsten chuckled, "You sound like a loving father when everyone knew how you cast aside your second son for the sake of your youngest. Aren't I doing you a favor? If your second son marries my son then just like what you wanted, you won't see your second son again running around arrogantly in your mansion and bullying your precious son."
"Because Aison, In my dukedom, Eugene can be arrogant all he wants."
The headmaster held his chest, wondering if he'll get assassinated because he heard something that shouldn't be heard. It is the same for others so they couldn't help but step back, afraid that once what happen today comes out, those who are present and witnessed everything would suffer just because they come to know something they shouldn't know.
Marchioness Celisha froze in her seat while Duchess Krishna trembled.
Her [Celisha] son, her son would marry the son of the grand duke in the future?!
No! Do not!
Duchess Krishna averted her gaze and stare at the mirror [screen] and look at Eugene's picture, dazed. She pities Eugene just like her daughter who won't be able to have the freedom to choose who they like and would be sent off for marriage of convenience. What's more? Unlike Marchioness Celisha that can talk to her husband and argue with the emperor. She who is only a duchess in name can't do it and could only watch her daughter be sent off for marriage by her husband for the good of the dukedom to build a stronger connection.
Just why? Why is this world tolerating an existence so dark-hearted as theirs?
If god really existed, then why be so unfair?
The strong can do everything while the weak can only obey.
"No matter what, he's my son! I decide his life and no one else! If you keep insisting on this marriage to exist, and the emperor started to press me then I could only pull out my battalion and leave your army to go to war alone! I won't support the war of Nacos!"
Everyone gasps.
"H-Husband!" Marchioness Celisha stood up and held her husband.
"G-Grand Duke, my husband is not in a good condition please let us excuse ourselves."
Grand Duke Kasrten crosses his arms and legs and leans on the chair as if he never takes the threat of the Marquis seriously: "Go on, this war won't need your help, actually it's the favor of the family of Catharis to take over your part."
Marchioness Celisha held the chair for support: "Grand Duke my husband just said it out of anger. He just recovers from his illness and is easy to feel offended. If you want we can talk about this matter in private and come up with a deal so there is no need for both parties to affront."
"I guess Marchioness Celisha is thinking about my offer so I won't hold you back."
Grand Duke Karsten wave his hand to his subordinate and said coldly, "Come and help the Marchioness escort the Marquis back to their estate." indicating that he won't no longer tolerate if the Marquis spoke of resistance and use the matter of war to threaten him and underestimate his power.
This made everyone shiver.
"Everyone knows what's good and bad. You know what will happen if this matter comes out."
The headmaster Immediately kneels: "Your excellency, this one has no eyes and ears. I dare not and respect your wishes."
Everyone kneels: "Your Excellency, please be mercy."
Duchess Krishna stood up from her seat and also kneel while trembling.
Seeing her, Grand Duke Karsten sighed: "Duchess don't lower your head, your husband is not here to feel fear. Take a sit and watch your sons without worries."
Duchess Krishna breath: "I thank his excellency for his benevolence."
"Good. Everyone takes their sit and watch."
Everyone: "Thank you his excellency for your benevolence."
It was only a few seconds but when everyone heard the surname of the most mysterious family which is the Catharis, they couldn't help but feel frightened and could only bow their head towards the grand duke who is the only person who knew and see the family of Catharis.
They all knew it...
When the Catharis move, it's because someone offends the grand duke.
Eugene wipes his sweat while swaying his sword.
He couldn't get close to the beast king because the beast's companion will come and attack him in sync. He could only grit his teeth and take care of the weakest first before aiming for the leader who is still on the top of the mountain rock and looking at them.
Rasiel is also having a hard time at first but upon learning the beasts move, he grasps their weaknesses and attacks them using the loopholes he notices.
The beast would attack in sync but it's not a hundred percent aimed at him.
This made him realize that the nearer the beast at you, the less is it dangerous. Because the beast that could get near to you is nothing but a feigned attack as the latter would take the chance of your inattentiveness to pounce on you and kill you by biting your vitals.
"Hah!" Rasiel laughed, "I won't fall for it a second time!"
Eugene flew back and raise the hand that holds the sword and whispered: "Arisa-eis"
The red mist appeared...
From the pommel to the handle, when the ruby gem inserted in the handle of the sword glow, it releases a red mist through the blade with a touch of sparkles, looking so luminous.
Eugene put down his arms and bend his knees...
With his left foot pressing the ground, he push forward and flew past the scattered beast on the ground and aim his attack above. When the beast below realizes that Eugene is going to attack their lion king, they immediately move and run toward Eugene but Raisel catches up and stabs them. However, with the number of beasts, some slid past Rasiel and come forward to catch up to Eugene who is already running, jumping...climb the rock mountain.
Of course, Eugene knew the beast that is going toward him so he waved his hands and put his two fingers near his lips before murmuring: "Arisa..." with closed eyes "pente."
The beast that is going after Eugene suddenly collapses.
These made the audience gasp in surprise.
A8: "What happen?"
A4: "Did I sleep? What's going on? Those beasts are already defeated?"
A2: "No, aren't they going after that Shradinza kid?"
Eugene clicks his tongue. No one will think he used magic right? After all his magic called ARISA is solely his and no one knew it. He made ARISA for his own advantaged since he can't use big spells like other magicians do so he can only play some tricks.
"ROAR!"
Eugene smirked: "Don't get angry, they're not actually dying, just temporarily suppress."
What he did is stir the mind of the beast and make them undergo a brain freeze caused by static noise that made them collapse. How? Sound waves have two fundamental components.
The first is amplitude. How loud a sound wave appears to us is determined by its amplitude. Some noise is just a comforting noise. A noise that can be turned up and down of volume, that can block out sounds. Second, is the frequency, an essential part of the sound wave. Frequency is how fast the waveform is vibrating per second. It's easier to understand if you use the sound piano cause as you press keys to create sounds the sound engineer combines an equal amount of every frequency a human can hear from that.
Imagine having a hundred pianist play piano or a violinist play violin?
You can imagine the loud sounds it produces.
To make it short, Eugene's Arisa-pente spell is the collection of the sounds of nature that are being intensified or volume up. Loud noise is particularly harmful to the inner. This made the demonized beast who is attacked by a whistle of loud noise collapse as they can't bear the impact it had on their hearing, adding the fact that too much noise can be painful to the brain.

SFX: Bogsshh.
Eugene curses and run sideways, avoiding the magic attack of the lion beast.
He needs to kill the king before those collapsing beasts recover if not at least injure the leader heavily so it won't be troublesome later. After all, Kaizer is not in a good mental state and only he and Rasiel is fighting these beasts.
A16: "Hey what happen to the son of the grand duke?"
A20: "The little duke is just sitting, did he and Eugene fight so the little duke refuse to help?"
A22: "Idiot, didn't you see earlier that the little duke held his head? It's bad if a mana explosion happens now. Really, being strong have its disadvantage too."
A26: "But why is the son of Duke Viltaria not doing anything?"
A10: "Right he's just standing there, watching."
A13: "It's probably dangerous."
A11: "Forget it, it's interesting to watch the son of Marquis Shradinza."
Kaizer stays in his position and just watches Eugene, his eyes held no emotions and are gloomy. He is looking at Eugene as if he wanted to carve that figure in his mind for fear of forgetting the person. Casimin watch Kaizer for a few minutes and when he saw Kaizer's eyes returning to their color he immediately runs forward and cast a spell to restrain the leaking mana that is flowing out of Kaizer's body, for fear that Kaizer will run havoc again.
"Seriously, what's happening to you?!"
Kaizer close and opened his eyes: "Casimin?"
"Right, you are really dangerous, you nearly lose control of yourself again!"
Kaizer massages his forehead, "It's not me."
Casimin: "Whatever."
Extracting his magic, Casimin slaps Kaizer's back: "Hurry up and help Rasiel and Eugene, if you just stay here it would take too much time, we won't be able to find shelter before dark."
Timber who had been watching Kaizer since earlier tilted his head while putting grapes in his full mouth while thinking: It's strange.
Did he hallucinate?
He seems to see Kaizer turning into a different person in a few seconds.
