15% Imprisioned Desire / Chapter 3: Help from the unhelped

章 3: Help from the unhelped

Running from the cops is the craziest yet funnest thing to do. I wouldn't recommend this hobby to anyone though, only certain people can elude the peril. I had managed to locate my hideout in an abandoned school without any bobbies following me. Thankfully, the young woman had fallen unconscious after the explosion. She was now lying on a table with her arms and feet still tied. She really did pull off those chains, I thought.

While taking a seat against the wall I cleaned the blood on my ear and patched it. It didn't hurt, unsurprisingly from my mom's care. Outside it had stopped raining and the wide windows shined light to the table in which she laid.

As she opened her eyes, she looked at me perplexed, her mouth open but soundless. I stood.

"I know. I'll give you a hand, no problem." I announced. "What do you want from me?!", I mimicked her, raising my arms in the air.

The woman stared still speechless, almost in disgust now. Finally, she let out a cry for help which was interrupted with tape to her mouth.

"Now, let's play a little game, you and I know well I'm not good at roleplay. I'll tell you what I want, if you collaborate. Of course I don't see a reason for you to want to live. You were destined to be killed by me. Accept it." Her glassy eyes cried as she refused to let the thought of her death dive through her.

Taking a step towards her, I took the black tape off her mouth and kissed her cheek. Unfortunately, she didn't appreciate my gesture and banged her head, hitting my nose.

"You're sick", she finally piped.

"Now babygirl", I started, "no one makes it out alive..", I stopped to brush the blood off my nose. "..in paradise", I finished.

"Cut to the point", the girl abruptly scuffed with furrowed eyebrows. Her forehead was bleeding from the hit, but she wasn't complaining. Her fixed eyes only reflected fear and hate.

"You've got to admit I'm a good kisser", I joked. "I want you to help me". The words sounded funny coming from my mouth; I never admitted to anyone's help when I was younger.

This time she was the one laughing. Horridly, she was crying while laughing. The fierce woman then closed her eyes and breathed slowly. "Let me get this right", she said with her eyes still closed. "You want me to help you?" She was delusional while she knew her fate was over.

Turning around I stared at the sun setting. "Correct. You will help me discover myself. Previously you mentioned how you assumed at first glance that I was up to no good. I want to change that. I am no monster", I explained.

"Odd. I would have guessed a kidnapper and freak like you would make an awesome villain in movies. But, I can't magically change you into a better person. What would I get in return?"

"A fast death, of course." I took off my leather jacket revealing my scarred strong arms. A dark long snake covered most of my upper muscles, embracing the scars.

"Is there a single part of you that doesn't scream evil?" she wondered in a hostile tone.

"You haven't seen the devil in me yet." I sighed. "It takes one's point of view to judge if one is evil or not. I need to show you that I'm good, while you need to discover what I don't see. You see, I wasn't always like this. I was caring, friendly. I'm still to this day a hopeless romantic. But to this point I'm desperate. I've done despicable things, but I, like any other human, have an opinion and morals I stand by." My voice was deep but clear. I had to make sure I was delivering the right message.

"What am I, your therapist now?" she gibed.

Smiling, I turned to her and cracked my knuckles loudly. "You are whatever I want you to be."

"How am I supposed to help you?" Her tone changed as she realised the position she was in. She still laid uncomfortably on the wooden table, her hair now messy hanging in the air.

"Baby steps, darling."

The moon sat alone in the dark sky, while some stars dared to show. As I opened the window, the breeze washed through my skin satisfyingly. It was going to be a beautiful night, I thought at loud. No one responded, the woman had fallen asleep as soon as I left the room to grab a couple tools. From all the chattering, I had forgotten to ask what her name was.

Then a loud shatter of glass filled the empty halls of the abandoned school, which alerted me. Hurrying to what seemed to be the old math class, the woman laid there lifelessly on the table. There was blood spilling down to the floor, but I concentrated my gaze on the tall shadow in front of me.

It walked slowly towards me, the sound of her revealed black boots echoing in the silence.

"Ever heard of stealth?" I waited confidently.

"I like breaking things", is all that came from a very attractive female voice. Though, once the dim light in the room revealed her face and body, I was left speechless. Her beauty captivated me utterly. Her hair, long and crismon, her piercing green eyes matching perfectly to the green bandana that left the rest of her face to my imagination. Somehow she reminded me of a girl I once fell in love with.

Flashback 7 years

Her crimson hair always hypnotized me. She was a scarlet rose blooming on a springful morning, and despite the lack of height, she always looked cute.

"How are you today? Did you sleep?", she chirped lively. Eli was always so caring for others; I constantly asked myself how I got so lucky to have such a great friend.

"I'm fine, I didn't sleep as usual but anyways we should get going", I said hurrying before my pink cheeks exposed the huge crush I've had on her for years.

"Sure." As we opened the door to enter the class, chatter filled the room. Everyone was either talking about the latest soccer match our school played against our former rival 'Pegasus', or about the test we had next period. Sitting down on my usual spot, my friends joined me and teased about my usual habit of seating in the back of every class.

"I just don't like people watching, but everyone seems to always stare at me, it's annoying." I complained, resting my head on the wooden table and taking a glance at the window on my left. The sky was clear, a few birds on sight chirped with life as they flew into the sky. During class I always used to daydream how I wished I could be as free as those birds..

"Matt have you heard of the new show 'Heartstone'?" Synda asked curiously, bringing my head to her direction with her hand on my chin. Leo on my right nudged me with a smile on his face. He also had a crush on Eli so of course he supported the idea of me dating Synda.

"No I haven't. What is it about?" I answered, attentively looking at her eyes and ignoring Leo. Her blue eyes softened as she smiled pleasingly. She liked it when people looked at her while she was talking.

"A serial killer who's trying to find his lost love. He's so hot though, don't you think Eli?" She asked, turning her gaze to the familiar tanned face with scarlet long hair.

"I'd totally fall for a serial killer, maybe even a psychopath", she stated. The warm light in her eyes had dissipated, leaving a lifeless cold darkness. Her lips formed a childish smirk, and the intensity of her words doomed the room.

"That's a little too intense.." I whispered. The girls laughed while they ignored my comment. Though right then and there, an idea flashed on my mind; one that would prove my love to her and she'd fall in love with me forever.
