章 68: Volume 3 Episode 18: Expectations

"To what do I owe the pleasure, Mr. Tanten?"

The person on the other side was indeed, Tanten the Third, the Sultan of Nubia.

"Greetings, Mr. Lin Hamill. I heard you got first place in your magical academy annual tournament. Congratulations, that must be quite a big achievement for you."

Lin's eyebrows twitched for a brief second, before he returned to his normal poker face.

"Thank you, Mr. Tanten. That means so much to me, especially when it's coming from the Sultan of a country. But if I may ask just one question. That's not why you're calling, are you?"

Lin could hear the Sultan's faint chuckle on the other side of the phone. He knew that he was not a match for the Sultan; not yet. But he definitely hated what he was doing right now. 

"Now, why is that? Can't a Sultan not call up a student and congratulate him for his achievements?"

'Calm down Lin, he's just trying to agitate you.'
