章 40: Aim high and fly high Part 2

Artirian would look at the battle and as he observed he noticed a slight difference of the position of forces. Artirian observed these because of the last battle he observed and the time the fortification had been besieged. The formation was different from what he saw last time in the battle of the Karlington village.

Artirian would notice the difference of using infantry to out maneuver the enemy using a cavalry charge. Artirian know that infantry and cavalry if that type of unit clashed in the battle surely the infantry would lose but the difference in the battle is that when the cavalry charged towards the infantry the cavalry was slaughtered by the infantry and almost cannot get close to the infantry unit because the infantry unit was using muskets as weapons.

So the hardline of using cavalry to infantry would be hard if it's front to front attack. As artirian observed that he would start writing it in the notebook he has.

The battle was also intense, the soldiers were marching as waves of cavalry would trot towards them. One of the conscripts would vomit to the side as to feel the tense of the battle. The line officer would order

"Make Ready!....Aim…..Fire first line!"

The first line of make ready then aims at the trotting cavalry at them then the officer would order fire the concripts would click the trigger and smoke would be released at the barrel. When the concripts fire the trotting cavalry would soon fall one by one as they received a volley of musket fire it was a huge hit for the unit of conscripts.

Next the officer ordered to the second line and first line with a high pitched voice while his sword was raised to point on the cavalry.

"First line reload Second line Aim...Fire!"

The second line would fire at the enemy cavalry and the damage was also like the first volley soon the officer would order

"Fix bayonet!'

The concripts would pull a long ice pick type of weapon and attack it at the end of the barrel. Soon they would make a type of position called a square position in which they formed a square. It is the best way to counter a trotting cavalry that's why the line officer told them to have a square position.

As they made a Square position the trotting cavalry would make a engulf position and keep running in circles as the cavalry moved like that. The conscripts would keep firing then one cavalry knight would have a chance to slash one conscript's head and the whole concript line would disperse.

The line was shocked as to why did the concripts dispersed and dropped their weapons soon the other cavalry would slash and trample the running conscripts. The conscripts faces would be fear and with sense of "I need to survive"

Soon after that the bodies of the conscripts were either no head or have a deep cut on their flesh. The cavalry use for the Republican forces is so flexible it was able to charge into the enemy it is able to poke the enemy defense it has the capability of disrupting the enemies movements and position. That is how the Republican forces use the cavalry. The type of unit they used if their light cavalry or sometimes for front charge are the heavy cavalry.

After a few minutes the Dvine Empire heavy cavalry was sent to clash with the Republican left wing formation. The heavy cavalry would trot their horses and their lances were pointed in front and their armor would be shining because of the sunlight that was direct at the field; their formation is like a tip of a sword.

When they reached the enemy lines and clashed some Republican bodies would fly to the air because of the force some would be knocked a few meters and some were instantly killed or trampled by the horse.The Republican army would give a regroup and reformation of signal to all units. As the Heavy cavalry charge another Heavy cavalry was ordered to charge but it was on the right wing the.

It would be like two arrows want to pierce through a wall of conscripts and some knights. Artirian would then look amazed on how the Divine empire military would think of that kind but Artirian smirked as the Divine Empire general was provoked in doing the Republican Forces counter was to immediately exhaust the heavy cavalry and then stopped them without reaching the generals staff. The divine empire general noticed that it would be too late. He can only see that his heavy cavalry was getting surrounded and getting killed 1 by 1.

The Divine Military General would advance his forces and eliminate it by a frontal advancement. Artirian would be scratching his head as to what the Divine empire general is doing. But keep writing the flaws of the general on his tactics and strategy. Artirian would then goes down from the tree as he is not satisfied to what he is watching because of repeated mistakes of the general of the divine empire and he would have a thought that if some kind of skirmishes like this happen the Divine empire needs to reform all of his military officials or else the Divine Empire would lose its territories from the coalition forces and to the republican forces.

The battle ended in more clashes from concepts and knights it was bloody and exhausting it lasted with 6 hours of flight straight. Both forces were tied results but mostly many casualties were from the Divine Empire. First one to retreat was the republican forces but to see the casualties and fatalities the Divine empire is high compared to the republican forces.

Artirian would then travel from the main dirt road and he would get passed by some fields and a house that was abandoned. Artirian would enter the abandoned house thinking it would be suitable to stay for the night as Artirian doesn't like it to travel at night because of certain circumstances.

Artirian POV

I would grab my water pouch and drink from it. I start to light a campfire inside and make a dirt encircle the campfire so it won't spread. The place was so comfortable as midnight came.

I would head out a few minutes to look at the stars and relax form the long journey I would be going it won't be easy but I know it would be fun and exciting like a roller coaster.

And If ever I met some people there like the scouts It would really be exciting.

"Hope Clara would be fine and okay and I know that the fight between the Moon Scar city would end by tomorrow because of the known general Oswald the second son of the Patriarch of the Thornwind family." After those words I let out a soft sigh.

I walked back inside and get some warm comfortable rest before a new journey begins tomorrow
