章 90: 2782 New Fortune
As Shi Feng and the others were staring at the sky, Alluring Summer, who was dressed in magnificent blue mage robes, walked up to them.
"Guild Leader, you're back. I wouldn't know what to do if you haven't come," Summer said in an exasperated tone.
Shi Feng was slightly impressed as he looked at Summer. Not only was she level 141 she's also emanating a very pure and dense type of lightning type mana. If he didn't know better he would have assumed that her mana control had reached the peak standard already. As expected of the Lightning Mage God.
"Summer what's going on, do you know what those things are?" Shi Feng asked. After using an identification skill on the worms flying in the sky, all he got was an unknown. Not even his omniscient eyes could tell him what those things were.
Alluring Summer then began to explain, "after my team came out of the map's core region we were suddenly ambushed by some of Beast Emperor's subordinates. They took out this black orb and released many of those creatures.The creatures then attacked us"
Apparently they're called Evil Leeches and for some reason normal attacks don't work on them."
"Only a few of my curses and my draconic spell managed to harm them, so I was only able to help a few of us escape. While we were running Beast Emperor's subordinates told us that we better give up Silver Wing City and bring you to Beast Emperor or worse is to come."
"Now the whole Orc Capital is at the mercy of Beast Emperor. Many players have either left or hiding in towns or fortresses, while some have formed groups to search for you, assaulting our players in nearby maps demanding for your surrender," Summer explained.
When Gentle Snow and the others heard this their anger spilled forth making the space around them bend.
Giving up Silver Wing City is one thing, but telling them to hand over their guild leader is utter disrespect to the entire guild. Beast Emperor was clearly trying to humiliate them
Unlike his comrades Shi Feng appeared to be much calmer but there was a faint trace of killing intent in his eyes. "What about the people who died, were their death penalty's harsh?"
Summer let out a sigh, "a few dozen tier 3 experts died and when they did they lost two levels and won't be able to log into the game for a day or two. When they reported to us, they said that they felt slightly light headed or had headaches as they exited their gaming pods. Fortunately it's nothing serious."
They felt light headed and had headaches after logging off? Shi Feng wondered. There are very few places, things, and events that can cause such a phenomenon.
For instance, if a player is forcefully logged off in a place with unstable time flow, then they can get headaches or worse fall into a coma. But those types of things are very rare.
Among the types of creatures that can cause a similar effect, the ones Shi Feng knows of can be counted on one hand. Most of these monsters come from the endless abyss, and the most common ones are a very special variant of the Soul Eater clan.
Suddenly Shi Feng's eyes lit up, "Summer did you collect any of the leech's loot, or see what it was?"
Summer shook her head no, "we weren't able to collect any of the loot but I did catch a glimpse of a red crystal with a silver glint in the center."
"I see. Wait here, I'll be right back."
"Huh where are you going, guild leader?" Violet asked.
But before Shi Feng could answer her question he flew up into the sky, breaking the sound barrier as he did. He then left the magic barrier protecting the city. As soon as he did, the Evil Leeches noticed him.
Even though they had no eyes and their faces were just giant circular mouths with rings of teeth looping around like swirls, Shi Feng can still see the looks of hunger and savagery on their faces. It was quite horrific.
Anybody who died to these creatures must have died a very gruesome and tragic death. Kids would definitely be traumatized for a very long time.
Like rabid dogs, the Leeches flew towards him. They wildly whirled their bodies trying to throw each other away as they greedily wanted Shi Feng for themselves.
Summer said that only a few of her curse and her draconic spell managed to harm them. Then these creatures must be very similar to those things I fought in my tier 4 promotion quest.
The reason for why tier 5 skills and spells are so powerful was not just because of the frightening mana and energy these skills commanded, but also because they work in a different way then their tier 4 and lower brethren.
With this thought in mind Shi Feng took out a drop of Soul Water he keeps around for emergencies. Drinking the Soul Water brought his mind unprecedented clarity and calm, like never before.
He then activated Blade Domain, achieving a 108% completion rate with the skill. He was still limited to twenty giant swords, but each sword was much bigger and stronger than before. They also had divine runes drawn on them that attracted the ambient mana.
He then took a deep breath and started to gather the ambient mana. Soon raging flames surrounded Shi Feng and the flames were then absorbed into the swords of Blade Domain.
Each sword turned blazing red as immense power entered into their magic arrays.
The Evil Leeches were nearly 30 yards around Shi Feng. Like a crazed beast, their teeth started rotating and they started to absorb the mana in front of them.
Shi Feng felt danger to his soul. Luckily he had the Soul Trace that Ember gave him or else if his soul were to be damaged by these things, the consequences could become problematic.
When the beasts were within his range, Shi Feng went into action.

Soon a Galaxy of giant stars surrounded Shi Feng. These stars were absolutely gorgeous, the effects of Holy Devour made them look like real celestial entities.
The people in the city below were captivated by the technique. They felt like Shi Feng had created his own solar system.
Each star quickly slammed into the Evil Leeches, rapidly taking away their HP. In less than four seconds one leech died, followed by four more, than ten more, and so on.
Shi Feng was very surprised by the power he just displayed. This was even stronger than a skill technique. While he was being impressed with himself, a wave of mental fatigue assaulted his mind turning him pale.
Shi Feng grabbed his head as the pain took over him. I'm still not ready to try such a technique.
Combining a mana technique and a combat technique is dangerous. The strain and loss in concentration of doing so is not an addition of the two techniques but a multiplication of the two. It becomes worse the more complex each technique is.
Combining Blade Domain, Sword Orbit, and Holy Devour already drained him of more the 60% of his concentration. And this was with the Soul Water and mental clarity that tier 4 players have.
If a tier 3 player tried something like this, they would immediately collapse from concentration depletion and be forced to log off. A tier 4 domain real expert would lose much more concentration than he had.
After killing a few hundred Evil Leeches, Shi Feng noticed a muddy red crystal with a silver tint. Shi Feng swung his sword.
Void Slash
Manipulate the power of the void to execute six slashes. Each slash carries 150% of user's Strength and causes 200% divine damage. User may transfer to the location of any of the six slashes.
He manipulated the six slashes sending one away from the battle and the others close to the crystal. He then teleported to one of the slashes and collected the crystal. Once he did, he transferred to the other slash and left the battle.
The people in the city couldn't help but be left in awe of Shi Feng.they were to afraid to even leave the protection of the city, but Shi Feng can come and go as he pleased.
"Guild Leader, are you alright?" Fire Dance asked in worry when he had landed. Despite not losing any HP, Shi Feng was as pale as a white sheet.
"I'm fine, I just pushed my concentration limit is all." He then walked over to Violet. "Violet this crystal is severely tainted, can you cleanse it?"
Violet Cloud took the crystal and examined it. After looking at it for a little bit, she gave it back, "I'm sorry guild leader, I can't. The Evil Energy in that crystal is very dense and the mana in it is flowing in a very peculiar pattern that I can't decipher. It's almost as if it's in an ancient language."
"Not even you can cleanse it!" Shi Feng was a bit surprised to hear that Violet couldn't cleanse the crystal. This ability came from a lifestyle subclass called the purifier lifestyle class. It's similar to the locksmith and trap disabler class that assassins like to pick up, only that the purifier subclass is exclusive to healers.
Violet Cloud has already become an intermediate master purifier. If she can't do it, that means he would have to take this crystal to an advanced master alchemist. But that could take a long time and time is not on his side right now.
With this in mind Shi Feng took out a summon guard scroll and with a flash of light a beautiful young girl appeared before them. This was Laura.
Fire Dance and the others felt immense danger from her and unconsciously took a step back. Despite Laura's small level of 125, they knew she could kill them with little effort.
Shi Feng wasn't surprised by this. NPCs have it much easier than players when improving their strength.
Players have to go to Hell and back for every epic equipment they obtain but NPCs can simply buy them. If an NPC is lucky they can even purchase fragmented legendary equipment. Most tier 5 NPCs have at least one legendary equipment piece on them.
Unless a player has a bloodline and similar equipment standards, soloing a NPC is nothing but a pipe dream. Even then it's still difficult to do so, because NPCs have much more skills/spells than players and a much higher mastery of combat techniques then players.
Apex experts will only get a beating if they carelessly fought a fine gold level personal guard. Not to mention Laura is a NPC with a special physique. If Shi Feng didn't have a fragmented divine sword, he wouldn't dare to fight Laura.
"Laura what standard is your purifier class at?" Laura had become a personal guard very recently, the only reason she reached tier 4 so soon is because of Anna and the others power leveling her and the adventure association providing her with so many resources and quest due to her special physique.
Personal guards lifestyle level isn't shown in their system prompt. That's why Shi Feng asked her, players have to ask or go to the lifestyle association.
When she heard this, Laura got a smug look on her face, she raised her ample chest up high and said, "Lord Protector, I've managed to become an advanced master purifier! Aren't I amazing, not even big sis Anna is as incredible as me. you should praise me more!" Laura said shamelessly.
Ember who sat on top Shi Feng's head was clapping for Laura and the personal guard was enjoying it. The two of them clearly got along.
"You are incredible, I'll give you a great reward in the future." Shi Feng chuckled but he meant every word. Despite Laura being only a dark gold guard she can contend with epic guards. When he gives her a fruit of life she could give Anna a run for her money.
"Now that you reached that level, I need you to cleanse this for me," he told her as he handed the muddy red crystal to Laura.
After receiving the crystal she immediately became serious. Laura then started to manipulate a sacred energy and transfer it into the crystal as she wrote line after line of divine runes in the air.
Soon a four fold magic circle stacked on top of each other appeared above the crystal. The magic circle encompassed the crystal and was absorbed into it. Many divine runes then appeared on the crystal, the mana around it started to act in a very strange way.
Streams of mana circled around the crystal as they created something akin to hieroglyphics.
Violet Cloud was entranced by this, she stared at the phenomenon going on with immense focus. Ember's eyes lit up as well. It was if she just discovered something new yet familiar to her.
When all this was done the red disappeared from the crystal and it became a silver gem with a blue hue.
As Laura handed the gem back to Shi Feng she looked a little disappointed with herself. "My lord, I was able to cleanse it of the evil energy, but there was something else in it that I couldn't purify. My apologies," she said slightly depressed.
Shi Feng had saved her and her brother, and she wished to repay him in any way she can. Yet she couldn't complete a simple job like this.
When Shi Feng got the silver gem, his eyes lit up with excitement, "no this is plenty, you did a great job Laura. You can go now, I might call you back later," he said happily.
Laura then bowed her head and left with a flash of light.
"Guild Leader, what is that?" Gentle Snow didn't know what that gem was that could make Shi Feng so happy.
Shi Feng smiled at her curiosity and said, "a way to solve our problems." He had been nursing a headache on how to capture Ancient Rock City that Beast Emperor had control of. After all there were plenty of mythic evil beasts and demons there, as well as many tier 4 and 5 NPCs.
But now all that has changed. He couldn't help but admit that the activation of the Evil God Temple not only brought danger but also fortune to God's Domain.
