The walls were made of obsidian and steel. I scanned the area looking for a trap or ambush waiting for me and Lucian to try the front door. "Thalia is in there and I have a feeling this won't be easy." Lucian searched the upper floors for a second entrance. "I could probably bring you up to the third window and you can go from there. I bet she is at the top." I hate betting against him, but that seemed too obvious. "It's a trick to make us look for a easier route. We have to go in and take it floor by floor."
[Gabriel, Hurry. He is coming back.]
"We go now. The owner is on his way any time now. Hit it hard and fast." We burst through the front door. Phantom took the lead, cutting down anyone in our way. Most people fear the Dire wolf, and for good reason. The enemies were in front of us blocking the door to the stairs. Phantom roared his challenge and charged. Lucian pulled out how s crossbow and was keeping them off our back. I made short work of the ones who managed to evade Phantom. We worked slowly but surely up the tower. The higher we climbed the hotter it got.
"Gabriel, find out what that heat source is. It's getting harder to breathe." He was right too. [I'm sorry Gabriel, it's me. I can command the fires of this world to do my bidding. I am weak but I will try to ease it.] The heat eased up to a tolerable level. "It's Thalia, she commands the Flames." Lucian nearly slipped on the blood covering the floor. "Whelp, we might come out of this extra crispy, but we are not even half way up there." I had to agree with him. Two extra crispy Lord's coming up.
Took a little longer to write this one. I hope you guys enjoy it.
