章 8: Chp 8:An apology
Evan's POV:
His body stiffened the moment I laid my fingers on his neck. 'Can't say I blame him, he must hate me by now.'
"You know, you don't have to be so nervous. I won't attack you."
"Again." Lucas added.
"Yes, again. I really am sorry you know." I continued with annoyance at the word 'again'.
"I suppose you are, huh." His lips curved a small smile as he whispered that, which took me by surprise.
'He smiled! that was adorable!' I mentally screamed.
"Well anyway your wound should heal in a days time or so. The medicine worked wonders!" I cheered.
"Is that so. I suppose I owe you an apology."
He admitted.
"An apology? What for? I don't deserve such tolerance."
I dropped my head in shame. 'For Lucas to apologize even though I have only done him harm. What made him have the change of heart?'
"It's because even though you apologized earlier I acted like a total jerk-asaurus. You even saved my life and looked after me. And I just held a grudge over basically nothing. I'm a really terrible person ."
He twiddled his thumbs and looked away in embarrassment. Mumbling the last part.
"A 'jerk-asaurus'. pfft...bahahaha. What kind of insult is that?" I laughed, releasing one of my rare laughs of pure silliness at his choice of words.
"I mean it! I was acting stupid and you didn't deserve that." He responded with a tinge of annoyance, Blushing from embarrassment.
" Well I appreciate your concern." I smiled.
silence fell, but this time it wasn't dreadfully awkward. It was a comforting silence filled with rejuvenation.
"gurgle..grr.."
"You must be hungry." I chuckled.
Lucas even more so embarrassed, turned even pinker.
"mmhhmmm." He agreed.
"Well I don't have anything in the fridge for you but, Is there anything you would like in particular?"
"Why?..why don't you have food in the....ohh..right sorry. My bad, forgot the whole vampire thing for a second there."
He blushed even brighter than before feeling completely stupid probably.
'How cute!'
"Um.. anything is good. I'm not very picky so I don't mind." He attempted to cover up his mistake.
" Okay, I'll return in a bit. You get some rest, you were drained quite alot."
"okie!" He smiled
There it was again that adorable smile from the first time I met him. Somehow it felt even cuter this time with his messy blonde locks.
I returned not long after with some Chinese takeaway. I fancied some Chinese tonight, although I don't get nutrition from human food, it still tastes good.
"Lucas!" I called, and not long after he came running out and down the hallway. He had this lil wobble to his run that just added to his cute factor.
"It smells delicious!" He cheered with a bright toothy smile.
"huh? this is too much. I won't be able to eat all of this!"
"It's not all for you, ya piggy!" I teased and received an adorable pout.
"What? But I thought you couldn't eat human food."
"I don't usually. It's only for the taste, as blood gives us nutrients whilst human food doesn't. " I explained.
"Ohhhh!" He dragged out, emphasizing that he understood.
We dug in and watched some Tv afterwards. I showed him some of the dramas I watch and he made fun of me, calling me 'such a girl' and what not. But I didn't mind, he seemed to be enjoying my company and so was I.
My life used to be extremely boring and unchanging, but he's flipped my world upside down. It was a nice change to get to know someone, other than some new character on the television. And I only just started to get to know him.
