レビューを書くthis story is utterly incredible, being one of my all time favorites. it's perfect beginning middle and end
Was overall a great story and we'll worth the read. My gripes are that the main character has a ton of deus ex happen which can sometimes be forgivable but it gets a bit excessive. My favorite part is that the author did two things amazingly right, first the romance while added in actually served a purpose and wasn't just a throw away thing for the lulz. And second he actually made the characters (not just the main character but just about all the central characters) have a somewhat believable personality and not just always in awe of the MC because MC plot armor.
The cultivation system is dumb. You temper yourself by fighting a life and death battle with someone of similar strength and if you survive, you get a little bit stronger. That basically means you just keep flipping a coin and getting stronger while you keep getting heads and you die if you get tails once. There can't be so many strong people with this system as there are in the novel. Exponential decay doesn't work like that. The whole idea of tempering is completely dumb. Nothing aside from being a battle maniac matters, no schemes, traps, information gathering on your opponents, training specifically to fight a certain opponent. And what's this about people not able to find suitable opponents? Even if somebody doesn't want to temper themselves, they still have to defend themselves and fight back if you attack them. How does anyone even live with a cultivation system like this? Like they live for hundreds of years while going into each next battle completely blind with no knowledge of their opponent and no care of their own lives. If these people don't care about their own lives, why would they care about others' lives? What's stopping them from killing everyone they see? That's sure to bring more tempering experiences their way. What a dumb world!
Lightning is the only way is one of the best light novels i've read. I usually take breaks from long light novels that spam for over 1000 chapters, but i couldn't take more than a 2 day break from this one. I honestly feel that it was too short, but it is only a feeling. I know well enough that it is perfect as it is right now. I read this after the author finished writing Lightning is the only way and i honestly think that I haven't made a mistake. From the beginning I thought this would be a story about a cultivator that only uses lighting, but i have been proven wrong. There's so much more to Lightning is the only way than it seems. I love the ending and I would love to see a sequel. Anyways 11/10, recommend reading it and have fun doing so:)
Loved the story and the world building, the fights were slightly repetitive, but not enough to pull away from the overall quality of the novel.
I‘ve just finished the book, and it’s just wow. 10/10 You can really see how much love was put into this work. All the characters feel fleshed-out, the worldbuilding is detailed and makes sense, the story is phenomenal and the character development of especially the mc is just wonderful. But the best are the emotions that are invoked in the reader (or at least in me) while reading it. There are some minor critiques: - would have loved to have some sort of closure with Skye, but we had a little one - the ending felt a bit rushed but then again not really - would be cool to have a final meet-up with Gravis and all his friends or some kind of epilogue for them But in the end it’s just perfect!
ネタバレを明かすGuys just read this novel . I know some one will think that this novel is boring becz of title right ? i am sure of it, becz i am also come in same category but i forgot that phrase " Don't judge the book by it's cover " and it's true . Author has given all of his creativity in this book just read this it will be good i am sure of it . just read the phrase again if you are not sure . Thanks you author for writing amazing novel , i am reading your current novel too and that is also amazing just write more thankyou 😁.
A story that is both interesting and detailed, while also frustrating. Let's go over the good points first. The fights are rather detailed and unique. Most of the time it focuses on realistic actions and mentalities in combat. Taking advantage of gaps, outmaneuvering the enemy, etc. It's usually good. The combat aspect is one of its stronger ones. In the beginning, the character's growth is good. We see him become more mature and face loss, and becoming better for it. The aspect of each element being different and having their strengths and weaknesses is interesting. I'm not sure I would entirely agree with some of its concepts, but a good amount of work was put into it. And it helps make the fights more unique. Now for the bad parts. It constantly complains about how heaven is interfering with the MC and frequently brings it up as if we've never heard it before. You will find this concept interesting in the beginning and then get absolutely sick of it. I get that this is supposed to be frustrating to the MC, I do. But there's a difference between getting the readers to understand the character's struggle, and simply annoying them by endlessly beating a dead horse. Would you find the same joke amusing if it was told to you dozens of times? There is a problem with heaven attacking the MC with bad luck, or absence of luck as it were. And that is...nothing is off the table. Pretty much anything can happen at any time. A meteor falls from the sky and nearly kills someone? Heaven. A big bird just so happens to land under the MC's enemy and save him? Heaven. Heaven is a literal Deus Ex Machina. Does it make sense story-wise? Yes. Does that make it good writing? No. Just because anything CAN happen doesn't mean it's good. It causes shortcuts, allows the author to skip any build-up, and can even ignore explanations. Even if it's "possible" it still detracts from the quality. Despite having troublesome moments, I still enjoyed it and pushed on for a while, but became frustrated later on. Some random person knows one of the MC's biggest secrets. (Won't spoil who) They're barely been interacted with, disappear for dozens of chapters, appear out of nowhere, and know his biggest secret without any hints or build-up to it. It's as if there was no real thought process behind this event. Not only is this weird, but I couldn't be bothered to become interested in the sob story of that random person whose barely even been in the novel. That said, thank you for the entertainment up until this point. And good luck.
The one book that ended perfectly for me. The character development of the MC is simply amazing.. really liked everything about this novel.. character interactions never look dead.. no unnecessary arrogant young master and face slapping.. death of characters never really impacts the story that much... It feels necessary and not forced at all.. the ending is not rushed at all and fits very perfectly with all the characters... I could’ve even said that it is the perfect ending! The first novel that never makes me bored... I’ve read some famous novels.. for example, LOTM.. the mystery is top tier for sure and is in a league of its own. But sometimes I can get bored and it took me a few days to get back to the novel.. since reading this book, not even once have I ever thought of dropping it or delaying my time to continue reading... it’s simply a masterpiece of its own. You could argue LOTM is better than this book.. but for me, I have to say they are equal, at least IMO. One thing for sure is this story is not for everyone (and that may be the reason why some people can’t see the true beauty of this story).. but if a person with great affinity with this type of writing read it, it’s a completely different story.. 100% worth all my time! Give it a try! The early chapter’s writing kinda feels odd (maybe because it’s the author's first book and he was still not very familiar with some dialogue)... But that changed very quickly once MC starts his cultivation journey... I’m really surprised with how the author’s writing style evolved so quickly.. and so, in conclusion, I‘m gonna rate it 10/10! Must read ;) Good luck fellas on your journey with this book! I hope you could comprehend the Laws behind this book! [img=recommend]
I truly liked this story. relatively original in the cultivation genre. I found myself very entertained even through some of the more 'boring' parts. the best thing about this story is probably the character development of the MC and side characters. I could say a lot more about this novel, but I cba. all around great novel and I don't regret reading a single chapter. the ending, is mid, but I've seen sooo much worse, and the journey to the end is 10x better than typical cultivation novels. thank you author.
one of the rare novels i finished reading cause the quality of the story is good throughout while book. i love how the cultivation paths are designed, world building is gorgeous, world power scaling and the reasons for it are made perfectly. overall- live this book
One of the best novels I have read to date. Very comedic at times but also emotional. The different interactions between gravis and the people he meets felt genuine and hilarious.
Great novel. Good story, good characters, satisfying ending. Everything is there. The written English is good and not annoying to read. There are plenty of moments that will drag you into the story emotionally. The pacing of the story is solid. The only major complaint I have is many things are over explained however I know some people like that and for those people like me who don't want to read the details of why the math worked out or other such things, those portions are easy to scroll through quickly without losing bits of the story. Great novel
this book is hilarious the times I laughed and cried are numerous some characters stay forever in your mind and wil do so long after you stopped reading and some are like flies you forget when you read it's a masterpiece
this is a superb webnovel, and it is some of the best work ive ever read. ive always been interested in fantasy cultivation type worlds, and this just seems to capture it perfectly. the author has an amazing mind for creativity, and i am so thankful to be able to say that i have read this.
really one of the best novels here. its a fresh air to cultivation novels by giving more rational and less greedy enemies and the MC is not one-dimensional. overall the story has depth in terms of the characters and how the story progresses.
Nice read but Web Novel is so greedy for money. It keeps asking for more that it's better to pay for just the whole book.

First of: The novel is FINISHED The powersystem is 10/10 original and I don't think I've seen one quite like this. The worldbuilding is good, extensive, diverse and mostly coherent, but there are some minor mistakes/inconsistencies in the novel that sadly never got corrected or adressed, but simply ignoring it is usually thr best decision since it's usually nothing major. The writing quality is good but in the middle parts especially until chapter ~1100ish there are a lot of repetitions, like saying the same thing 3-4 times a little bit different (maybe for more words per chapter, idk), but the English of the author is quite good, especially for this plattform. The characters are diverse and not really repetitive, but similar yet different. Also the author isn't afraid to kill of chars, which is good/bad/sad/bittersweet, it really depends. Sometimes it really seems like the author just wants to see the world burn. In regards to that, a little spoiler warning for the passage ahead The ending was peculiar, way to fast and way too abruptly for me, the abrupt starr of the end had it's charm tho, since it kinda sent you into the right headspace for the ending: stress The real end of the chapter took like 12-20 chapters all in all, and that's in a 1329 chapter novel. Of these 12-20 chapter, only around 4-5 were the real ending of the story. Also I gotta say, the ending was too open for my taste, but the hopes for a epilogue are high.
One of my favorite books and I know I’m gonna love the second book u have bc I believe u can’t write a bad book and this is definitely in my top 5 favorites
It's very good read. Story development is very well thought out and explained! Start to end, it was amazing. There was no point where I felt that the writer has gone lazy or the story is going downhill. Honestly, this can be in my top 2 novels of all. I just loved it!
It is really tiring too read. I can read story with evil mc and in general I like stories where the MC has a lot of setback and difficulties but this is to much, it is too bleak and I don't like the pretext of heaven to justify his endless calamity and maybe the most that force him to commit horrible things that he can't forgive himself really too tiring to read for me, definitively not my Style
i have no words to say how much this novel is amazing, totally worth read. I didn't expect it to be this good by the name of the novel "don't judge a book by it's cover" never made so much sense.
I loved reading about gravis. and I want to know what happens next in the primordial chaos and how their trip goes. I usually read several novels at a time but since you had finished this one after I picked it back up I went straight through it. thank you for the amazing story.
