The Divine Calamity

The strong winds were blowing furiously against Ji Yuan and Qiu Xiuyu as they braced for the incoming Divine Calamity that was forming in the dark heavens above in the form of a gigantic dark cloud face above them.

Long streaks of lightning were flashing and striking on the ground below, causing Qiu Xiuyu to be very startled and very much afraid.

Ji Yuan said to her, "Do not be afraid. I am here. There will be 99 lightning that will attempt to strike you."

Qiu Xiuyu gasped, "99 lightning?! I can't survive it."

Ji Yuan answered quietly, "I will be with you. Usually the first few lightning won't hit you because these lightning represent the first few years of your life and usually a cultivator has a pure soul at the beginning. It is only later in life that a person's soul will be corrupted and hence, the lightning will be aimed at you. You need to prepare for it and use your divine sword as your protection."
