Luna was chatting with a few women she knew when she noticed Dr. Bell sitting in a rear corner of the room. She knew he would be at the event, as he had been the lead researcher for one of the many organizations that was looking to find a cure for dementia. However, she did not expect to see him sitting so closely to another woman.

Luna shifted to get a better view of the woman positioned so near to Tavin and her heart sank. She would recognize that person anywhere. Mina was otherworldly beautiful, especially when she smiled.

Luna's heart felt like pins had been stabbed into it repeatedly as she watched the woman who claimed to be her friend flirt with the man who had broken her heart.

Luna tried to keep a straight face as she continued to chat, but she could not help but to be distracted by the animated expression of both people as they spoke. It was almost as if they had known each other forever and if Luna was being honest with herself, they made a beautiful couple.
