章 26: Business trip

Smiling at the unknown number she replied back

"hello, Mr. Li"

Looking at the text that he received, Li Jie couldn't stop smiling. Many people call him Mr. Li which just seems formal to him

But when his baby called him Mr. Li, he felt a different kind of sensation spreading through his body. It felt as he was floating in air.

Smiling he texted again,

"what is MRS. Li doing?"

This was the first time, Li Jie called her Mrs. Li. Usually he calls her Xioaxi or baby which he started recently. She was already blushing at the thought of him calling her baby, but when he called her MRS. Li, it was like the reality hit her.

She is MRS. Li, wife of Li Jie. Never in her life, she would have imagined she would become the wife of the big boss. The ultimate bachelor of the country is now her husband. This sounds like an accomplishment for anyone who listens. And why wouldn't, he is rich, handsome, successful.

Looking at aunty Gu who is cooking, she quickly replied

"I am helping aunty Gu in kitchen. What about you?" before saving his number as Mr. Li

"I am working. Will have to attend a meeting now."-replied Li Jie.

"oh, then go and have a smooth meeting Mr Li. I have to go cook"- replied Xiaoxi.

"okay cook something for me. I want to taste the food that you cook. I will take you out to meet my friends in the evening. Wait for my call. Bye"- texted Li Jie.

Maybe this was the longest text he has ever typed to anyone whom he had chatted with.

Looking at the text, she blushed. Li Jie wants to try her food.

Now she can't wait for Li Jie to come home and try the food.

"okay. I will be waiting. Bye"- texted back zhang Xioaxi.

Going to Aunty Gu, she wanted to ask Aunt Gu about Li Jie's favourites. But she was too shy to do so. Fidgeting her hands, she was about to call aunty Gu, when aunty Gu turned towards her.

"young madam, are you alright? Why are your ears and cheeks so red. Maybe it's hot in here. Why don't you go, and rest and I will do the cooking?"- said aunty Gu worried looking at xiaoxi red face.

"her face is red because she is blushing aunty Gu." Said mother Li who came into the kitchen and was watching Xiaoxi fidgeting.

"huhh?"- confused aunty Gu couldn't understand anything.

"she wants you to ask what are Li Jie's favourites? Isn't it so Xiaoxi?"- asked Mother Li.

Xiaoxi who was caught red handed by her mother in law, blushed so hard and bowed her head as if she is trying to find a hole on the ground to hide.

"you don't have to feel shy; we all want you both to be happy. And if you want to cook something for your husband, there is nothing to be shy."

"child, I am here, and aunty Gu is here to help you. All you have to do is accept us as your family. Okay? – mother li coaxed xiaoxi patting her head.

Smiling at mother li, she hugged her and said "thank you mom"

She was really happy with her new life, her husband her mother in law and her naughty monkey brother in law and her father in law. She definitely miss her mom and dad but she has also got her another set of parents who love her equally as her other parents.

Turning towards Aunty Gu, "aunty Gu, can you please tell me what are Li Jie's favourites, I want to cook for him?"

Looking at each other, mother Li and Aunty Gu smiled and nodded their heads smiling.

"okay, lets cook we are gonna help you too, of course you will be cooking, and I will help you with cutting the veggies and aunt Gu will let you know where the things in kitchen are. Let's get started."- exclaimed Mother Li who is excited.

In the office.

Feeling refreshed, Li Jie started going through the documents, when he heard a knock on the door and yang entered with a red file.

Looking at yang, Li Jie continued to do his work, when yang spoke,

"sir, your flight to Australia is scheduled tomorrow morning at 9 am. The documents and everything that you need to go through on the flight are ready. And the manager---"

Cutting yang off, Li Jie frowned,

"am I going tomorrow to the business trip?"

"yes sir"

Frowning deeper, Li Jie snapped- "why are you only telling me this now?"

"But sir, every time you go on a business trip, I inform you the day before you leave."- explained yang who didn't have a clue why Li Jie snapped at him.

Not knowing how to answer him, Li jie sighed and asked him to leave.

He had this trip planned before getting married. But it has just been a day and his heart doesn't want to go away from his wife.

Is this the sign of falling in love?

But he knew he cannot cancel this plan. He didn't want to be selfish and waste others time. There were many families depending on the company. he cannot leave everything like this.

Even though he knows he cannot be selfish and cannot abandon his work, a part of his heart wants to stay here leaving everything behind or take her with him.

It was just in the morning that he had a sweet talk with his wife and tomorrow he has to leave and that too for god knows how long. Why is fate so cruel to him?

"The question now is how am I gonna tell this news to xiaoxi? What will she think? I just told her to lean on me all the time, but I am going far away.
