章 23: Baby!!

Back in the bedroom:

As soon as Li Jie entered, he was greeted by a pillow that hit him in the face and a furious Zhang Xiaoxi sitting on the bed with her hands crossed.

"Did you just hit me wifey?"

"Oh yes i did , and thats not it im gonna still hit you."zhang Xiaoxi threw another pillow at him.

Dodging the pillow this time, Li Jie chuckled and made his way towards her.

Zhang Xiaoxi was about to throw the bedside lamp, when Li Jie caught her hand.

"Woah easy baby"

Zhang Xiaoxi froze as soon as she heard him call her BABY.

Looking at her shock and freeze Li Jie found it cute.

"Oh so my baby likes it when i call her baby huhh?

"Wh—wh-who is your baby? I am not a baby especially not your baby"-shuttered Zhang Xiaoxi.

"Oh is it? Then why did you stop hitting me baby?"- Li Jie wiggled his brows and asked.

"Because i am not a baby." Xiaoxi answered trying to escape from the room.

"Where are you escaping baby. I know you are not a baby baby but you are my baby . remember the red booklet that you have, that indicates that we are married and i am your husband.

Which makes you my baby."

Zhang Xiaoxi gritted her teeth puffed her cheeks which made her face look round cute like a dumpling.

Looking at that cute little dumpling, Li Jie wanted to take a bite. But wont his wife who stopped hitting him with the lamp, continue doing so?

Cupping her cheeks, Li jie placed his forehead on her forehead and looked into her eyes.

Looking at his hands full of her puffed checks he poked her left cheek with his right hand index finger.

Taking a deep breath,

"Xioaxi, i know this has just been a day but i dont know why i am drawn to you. Its like i have this comfort with you that i dont have with anyone.

I dont know what i thought when i was about to kiss you in the car. I must have scared you.

Sorry.

When you said you get to see other mens bodies, to be frank i was not happy. I mean i know its too quick but i don't know i was not happy.

Im sorry, i wont scare you next time."

Without waiting for her reply he continued,

" and about announcing that you are my wife, i really dont have a problem but Xiaoxi I am not a simple business man as you think. I am have a much more darker shade that you cant imagine.

So, there will be many people who will try to harm you after they know that you are my wife. Its not like I can't look after your safety but i dont want to take even the slightest chance that someone can harm you."

Looking into his beautiful greenish blue eyes, zhang Xiaoxi could not help but sigh.

Placing her hands on his,

"How come you are this sweet or are you just pretending to be one with me?"-asked Xiaoxi looking into his eyes.

Smiling at her question he said, " I am not pretending."

Brushing the mole on her lip,

"Xiaoxi, lets try falling in love okay?"- asked Li Jie suddenly.

Zhang Xiaoxi's heart skipped several beats. Her heart rammed against her chest. She could feel her blood flowing through her body and getting goosebumps .

Trying to avoid his gaze, she nodded her head shyly which earned a chuckle from him.

Hugging her he continued,

"Baby, you dont have to be shy around me okay? And i am not pretending to be sweet . I am actually sweet for you because you are my wife. Alright?

Though Zhang XiaoXi was shocked by his sudden hug. She was also melted by his sweet words.she always dreamed about a husband who will dote on her.

Well, who doesn't right?, though they were married only for a day and this closeness is too good to be true, She already accepted the fact that she was married and is gonna lead her life with him.

This marriage was equally a foreign thing for Li Jie too but he told himself that he should not stop himself from falling in love anymore.

Though there was no mistake of his in his previous relationship, he was the one who took punishment.

Now, life has given him another chance to fall in love and he doesn't want to miss that chance with his ignorance .

It was same for Xiaoxi, she had a terrible person as a boyfriend who only knew how to play with her. Never did he love her nor did he care for her. After that relationship she lost faith in men.

But looking at Li Jie and his care towards her, she wanted to open up her heart too.

No one can stay away from love though they make their heart surrounded by stones.

When the right person comes, every stone has to crumble.

Blushing, XiaoXi nodded and hugged him back.

This day they promised themselves that they are not going to torture themselves anymore or pretend not to want love.
