章 19: His heart hurt

Reporter 1: "Miss Zhang, what's your relationship with the famous tycoon Mr. Li Jie?"

Reporter 2: "Miss Zhang, are you in a secret relationship with Mr. Li?"

Reporter 3: "Miss Zhang, are you in a relationship with Mr. Li or is he your sugar daddy?"

Reporter 4: "miss Zhang, are you just flinging him?"

Reporter 5: "Miss Zhang, are you both having an adulterous affair?"

Reporter 6: "Miss Zhang, why are you not answering? Is it because this is all true?"

Being surrounded and questioned at, Zhang Xiaoxi's mind turned blank.

Though she is in front of the camera most of the time, this kind of questions that too regarding her husband, she didn't know what or how to answer them.

Earlier in the morning, Li Jie told everyone that he is not ready to go public. Even she who is not ready to publicly announce their relationship yet didn't want to listen someone calling her husband a sugar daddy.

She wanted to tell them that they are wife and husband, but what will Li Jie think of her. If she announces their relationship Even after he himself telling that he is not ready.

"its better if I bear with them, I just don't want to cause any inconvenience to Li Jie. He has been so good to me. I can at least do this for him"- thought Zhang Xiaoxi.

Standing in a corner, Mother Li signalled Li Yan.

Having understood what his mother meant, Li Yan called his brother who then suddenly thought of something and changed his voice call to a video call.

Meanwhile at LJ Corporations:

"what the hell are you doing from yesterday. Is this kind of work you do every time? Who was that blind that they made you the department head?

Go get your finances settled and leave right now. You are fired"- shouted Li Jie at the finance department head.

They have been at this meeting for the past 1 hour and all that came out of Li Jie was the statement of firing them.

"sir give me a chance please. I will make a new report far better than this and submit it to you by tonight please"- please the department head.

Before Li Jie could reply, his phone rang.

looking at the caller Id, Li Jie rejected the call on his phone and put it on the table.

"damn brother, for god's sake lift your phone."- prayed Li Yan and called him again.

RING RING

Looking at Li Yan who was continuously making video calls, Li Jie irritatingly attended the call.

"Li Yan, this better be Imp--"- shouted Li Jie.

But before he could complete his sentence, Li Yan turned his camera and pointed it towards Zhang Xioaxi who was now surrounded by reporters and looked a little lost.

Li Jie on the other side could listen to all the questions that are being thrown at Zhang Xiaoxi. And he didn't like anyone questioning his wife in such a manner.

"brother these guys are cruelly asking sister in law these questions. I want to stop but if I go in between they might even say nasty things and relate us both I think you should come over"- said Li Yan.

Li Jie who was focused looking at his cute little wife standing in middle of the reporters like a scared kitten could not even hear what Li Yan was saying.

Without thinking anything, he stood up from his chair, and dashed outside.

"You all better do your job properly or else you are not getting any more chances"-Li Jie's PA yang said before rushing after Li Jie.

"did we listen second boss mentioning SISTER IN LAW. Did boss get married?"- asked an employee.

"shut up, why do we need those details, let's be happy that we didn't get fired today. Let's go do our work"- the finance head who got grilled said

OUTSIDE:

"Yan, listen to me, don't disconnect the call, I want to listen to their each and every word'- said Li Jie who was already in his car and was about to accelerate.

"sir stop let me come with you, I will help you in dealing with those reporters while you can take care of madam."- said Yang who already got in the car and was putting on his seatbelt.

Without waiting for yang to completely put on his seat belt, Li Jie drove the car at the fastest speed possible. He wanted to reach his wife as soon as possible.

His heart hurt when he saw how she hung her head low and was alone standing between those reporters who were hurting her with their words.

Thanks to his driving, the 15 minutes' drive took him only 7 minutes and before yang who was trying his best not to puke tried to reach for his seatbelt, Li Jie was already gone.

By the time Li Jie was upstairs and standing behind the reporters, he could still hear them questioning her.

Reporter: Miss Zhang, aren't you from the sun entertainment? why would you hook up with the LJ entertainments president? Do you want to change the agencies? Was that the reason for this affair?

"who are you to question my wife?"- came a cold voice from behind the reporters which made everyone's hair behind their neck stand.

Making his way towards his wife, Li Jie glared at the reporters with the cold eyes. the reporters saw who it was and all the questions they were about to ask, already stopped at their throats.

Walking towards Xiaoxi, he looked ta her. As soon as his eyes met hers, the coldness in his eyes melted and a gentle look was replaced in his eyes

Standing in front of xiaoxi, Li Jie took her hands into his and asked, "are you hurt somewhere?"

Not expecting him to be here, Zhang Xiaoxi was shocked.

Listening to his words and feeling the warm big hands holding hers, she came to her senses and shook her head.

Looking at her and sadness in her eyes, his heart hurt, without thinking anything he pulled her towards himself and hugged her. Only he knew how his heart hurt when he saw her surrounded by the reporters.
