章 260: Meeting With A Once Foe
Arising Blade winced from the pain.
Unyielding Blossom swiftly stabbed the side of Arising Blade a few more times. Freeing his hands he quickly retreated.
"With such swift and relentless blows Unyielding Blossom has taken the lead!"
"With one mistake Arising Blade is now at a disadvantage! Hands now injured his accuracy will surely take a hit!"
Arising Blade placed the bow on his back, "Quite vicious aren't you?"
Henry was surprised, "What's this? Arising Blade has stored away his bow? What is his plan?"
Arising Blade extended his hands and two daggers made of electricity formed in his hands, "I wasn't lying about taking things up a notch."
John spoke excitedly, "And he's revealed it! Arising Blade isn't just any archer! He's a rare Variant called Ranger! Rangers are armed with more than just a bow, but also a pair of daggers!"
Henry continued, "And it seems like he's figured out their elemental version! Granting him additional damage and special effects!"
The fans of Wyvern Tail suddenly cheered out, the chat of livestream turning into a blur.
"Can he regain the advantage?!"
The two clashed, every time their weapons met a dull sound would form followed by a faint crackle of electricity. Using the daggers Arising Blade aimed for Unyielding Blossom's neck. She quickly blocked this with her sword, only to see the other dagger rushing towards her now open side.
Thud-
The dagger hit a newly created bone, causing no damage. She kicked Arising Blade's stomach, making him stumble back. She quickly twisted her sword and delivered a swift strike across his chest.
"Oh! Another blow landed on Arising Blade! Things are looking grim for him!"

In the livestream besides the public chat there were a few private chatrooms given to a few people of status. In one such chatroom a conversation began.
-Anon771: A poor matchup
-Anon254: How?
-Anon771: Arising Blade's daggers are made of electricity.
-Anon564: That shouldn't be too much of an issue.
-Anon771: You don't understand, bones are mainly made of a salt that dissolves poorly. You know, calcium? It just so happens to be that calcium is a very terrible conductor of electricity. And Unyielding Blossom makes a lot of bones.
-Anon399: Yep, the victor is evident.
-Anon527: I'm sure Arising Blade has something up his sleeve.
-Anon771: He won't use it.
-Anon254: ?
-Anon527: ?
-Anon564: ?
-Anon771: He's in the first match. Using his trump cards now is essentially giving them away to his future enemies. IF he wins. There's no point at that rate.
-Anon527: Surely he will use it regardless though. Winning with everything is better than losing with nothing right?
-Anon771: Sure, but why bother? Shouldn't he save them for his next opportunity? By playing the patient game he may win at a later date.
Anon527: . . .

Unyielding Blossom thrust her sword forward, aiming for a fatal strike to the heart. Arising Blade aimed to deflect it, but that's what she was aiming for!
Her fist made a solid contact with Arising Blade's face. Bones sticking out her knuckles like a knuckleduster.
The crowd sucked in a cold breath. That looked painful.
"Oooh! With a sharp punch to the face Unyielding Blossom does a little more than just HP damage!"
"Even the spectators can feel it."
The chat was reacting differently however.
-Hahaha
-Someone send a doctor
-Doctor?! He's going to need a psychiatrist!
Unyielding Blossom didn't let such an opportunity go. Bones sprouted from her arm and encompassed Arising Blade's head. He quickly readjusted her hand and gripped his face. Using her leg she swept him off his feet and slammed him onto the ground.
Bones pierced through his back and out his chest. He coughed blood from the injury.
Henry almost flinched, "What a brutal way to fight!"
"By tossing him onto sharp bones she deals even more damage!"
"Arising Blade is far from a comeback now!"
-Oh god
-He's going to need both a doctor and a psychiatrist
-Unyielding Blossom very scary!
-Someone help him! She's turning him into Swiss cheese!
Unyielding Blossom prepared to stab the neck of Arising Blade. However Arising Blade quickly lifted his hands, "I surrender."
John was quick to commentate, "And he surrenders! Giving the win to Unyielding Blossom!"
"I too would surrender in his position."
The Jumpstart Pavilion fans started cheering. Sound spreading across the stadium.
Henry continued, "And that concludes the first match! Unyielding Blossom will be progressing to the next round."
"We will be taking a short ten minute break before the next match. So please use the time wisely."

Akiol returned the to VIP room and raised an eyebrow at the holographic figure.
Due to Unyielding Blossom winning her game character was displayed at a slow rotation. The word VICTOR above her head, along with her name.
Akiol commented, "It's her! So she won the first match?"
Wrock looked at him, "You know her?"
"During my wager against Jumpstart Pavilion. She's not too bad with the sword. I wouldn't doubt that she improved since our last battle."
Wrock looked at the hologram before asking, "Should we go meet them again?"
"Jumpstart Pavilion?"
"Yeah, our last meeting ended abruptly."
"Hmm, perhaps we should see if we can."
"Then time for the magical button!"
The man from before arrived shortly, "Did you want to go back?"
Wrock shook his head, "We want to know if we can go say hi to Jumpstart Pavilion."
"Ah. . . I'm not sure I can do that much."
"We're acquainted. Say that Wrock and Akiol want to stop by for a quick chat and I'm sure they'll respond."
"I can see then. Do not blame me if they decline."
"Don't worry, I won't."
The man nodded and left only to return a few minutes later, "They say they're willing on the condition you bring over your whole team."
Akiol faintly smiled, "I would figure as much. What say you all?"
There was no objections. They were curious on who troubled Akiol in the early stages of the game.
Wrock made sure everyone was okay with the idea before returning his attention to the man in the suit, "Alright, lead the way my good man!"
They were lead to a different VIP viewing room. The one given to the Guilds were more lavish, with more seating and space available. Though more than six occupied these, so it gained no outrage.
Reverence walked up to them, "It has been a while Akiol."
"It has indeed. How has everything been going? I think Infinity Base should have calmed itself down right?"
"They have, we managed to regain some of our fame because of it."
"That's good then. I see Unyielding Blossom has gained a victory, congratulations."
"I actually have you to thank. She's been dedicating herself to eventually beat you. I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to rematch her eventually."
"It's gonna cost you a sword."
"We can pay that."
Akiol smiled, "I'm messing with you, I have a good one. I don't need anything, so just let me know when you want me to."
Reverence wasn't too amused by the joke, but was relieved nonetheless, "I'll be sure to send you a message."
Akiol shook his head, "I rarely check my inbox these days. Want to exchange forum information? I usually chat on there more."
". . . That works."
The rest of the party mingled with Jumpstart Pavilion. As Akiol and Reverence exchanged info Akiol was asked, "So what happened to your arm?"
Akiol glanced at the cast before answering, "I got a little overzealous."
Reverence nodded, indicating he didn't understand but wouldn't ask further. He looked at his watch and said, "I'll let you know the time for the rematch in advance. I hope you can make it."
"Now, I want the rematch now."
A black haired female stood at the entrance. She stared at Akiol intensely, "I heard, you're Akiol right? I want a rematch."
Akiol made a light cough, "So much for in advance."
Reverence apologized, "It seems that the rush from the battle is a little much."
She spoke, "I don't care, I've hit a wall recently and none of my guild members are helping me."
Reverence explained, "Their battles have been equal so far. No one has been able to easily beat her."
Akiol suddenly had a thought, "Aren't you in the arena in-game? How would a rematch even work?"
Reverence frowned, "They didn't tell you? You will be automatically teleported when your match is ready."
"Oh- so you go back to where you were afterwards?"
"Yep."
". . . Then what was the point of the Matchup rooms?!"
Unyielding Blossom folded her arms impatiently, "What are we waiting for?"
Akiol checked the time, "We have three minutes until the next match. We can have a match later."
"The next match you can watch again."
Akiol sighed, "Fine, but don't blame me if it's over quickly. I don't plan on taking it easy."
"Good enough for me."
Akiol looked at Reverence, "Got a spare helmet?"
"Of course, we will reward you amply for this inconvenience."
"This treatment is far better than when we first met."
Reverence paused temporarily before giving some orders to someone.
It only took two minutes before they were in a small arena. Stars asked slightly disappointed, 'This is the competition? Where is everyone else?'
Akiol answered, "It's not, someone wanted me to duel them. So I'm going to finish this quickly to cool them down."
'Ohh, okay then.'
Akiol unsheathed Stars and gave a calm look to Unyielding Blossom.
The game counted down and the moment it hit zero Akiol seemingly vanished.
Unyielding Blossom's eyes widened before her vision suddenly changed. They were outside the arena. That only happens when one player dies.
Stars was already sheathed and Akiol spoke to Unyielding Blade, "Impatience is not a virtue. We can have a proper rematch in the future."
Akiol promptly logged off and returned to the VIP viewing room. He walked up to Reverence who was standing next to the window, "What'd I miss?"
Reverence was slightly startled, "Already?"
Akiol nodded, "I'll give her a proper rematch in the future. But that should cool her down."
"I. . . appreciate it. She tends to become extremely confident when she wins."
Akiol merely nodded, instead focusing on the new match.
