The swarm of red butterflies fluttered away into the night sky, leaving Rhys and the intruder standing alone at the entrance of the tunnel.
"You are the one?" The man in black asked in a unique accent.
His voice oozed amusement as he stared down at the humble-looking human child before him.
He was looking at a being completely unlike the God Eaters he had spent his life learning how to fight. He grinned thinking about how lucky he was to be able to find and kill one before it had the chance to evolve into a catastrophe. After this mission was over he would be hailed as a hero and generations of his family would swim in divine wealth.
Apparently a child was still a child, even if it would grow into a calamity one day. It was his luck that he was able to hunt one when it was still young and weak.
"Yes."
Rhys didn't need to ask for an explanation. This otherworldly man was here for him, to destroy him to be exact.
