Females ruled lions unlike those "wild ones."

The males were loners. We the lionesses required no protection, for they were the rulers.

The ruling queen was Jina, who had birthed in total twenty cubs with only five surviving. The eldest surviving daughter had proved again that she was worthy of becoming the next queen.

The youngest surviving son; showed a promise of becoming useful in being a worthy male to sit behind the priestess, even though several lionesses watched her son they dared not try claiming him.

Tail flicking behind her, Jina lazily laid on her throne as the other lionesses sat straight, guarding all four sides.

"I have a feeling that sending your sister on such an important task among the prey was an error,"

A lioness slightly smaller than her nudged her chin, before sitting on her hind legs and staring down at her with golden eyes.
