章 11: Drum Island and Alabasta
Zeus, Luffy and Ussop all turned to the voice and noticed a man with red glasses and a trench coat walking towards them with a woman who had an umbrella and a dress with lemon on it. It was Mr.5 and Miss Valentine.
"Your friends are currently caught by Mr. 3, as well as the giants." Mr.5 said. Luffy and Ussop looked at him before asking "You have the giants too? Did you sabotage their duel?" Mr.5 smirked and said "You mean put explosives in the alcohol? Yea that was us." Luffy and Ussop were enraged as Luffy yelled "How could you interfere with their duel! I'm gonna kick your ass!" Luffy shot his hand and sent Mr.5 flying before kicking Miss valentine away, he turned to Ussop and said "We have to go find the others" Ussop nodded and was about to leave when Carue, Vivi's duck came running through the bushes making gestures and telling them to follow him. Zeus, Luffy, and Ussop followed Carue through the bushes into a clearing only to find a giant wax sculpture with Vivi, Nami, and Zoro stuck on it. The giants were beside it and were covered in wax as well, Zeus looked around and found a little girl having a picnic and walked over as Luffy started fighting Mr.3.
Zeus sat down in front of the little girl and said "Hello little girl, mind if I join you?" he smiled at her and waited for her response, the little girl smiled and nodded as she handed him a rice cracker he took it and shifted his mask to start eating. The little girl asked "Um mister who are you, and why do you wear a mask? Are you ugly?" Zeus froze and everybody else stopped for a moment, Zeus looked around and found Nami giggling before he sighed "I'm Kurama and I wear it because I like it, I am not ugly. What about you little girl who are you, why are you working for Baroque works?" he turned to the girl and tussled her hair making the little girl pout. "My codename is Miss. Goldenweek and I'm 14 years old, I guess you can say that I have nowhere else to go." She looked down sadly as she said that, Zeus sighed and hugged her patting her back as he said "It's okay do you have any hobbies?" Miss Goldenweek nodded and took out her paints and started painting, when she finished she showed Zeus "My favorite thing to do is paint and eat rice crackers you can call me Marianne by the way. Zeus picked up her painting and was shocked "This is amazing, you're really good at painting Marianne, do you want to go somewhere other than Baroque works?" He wasn't lying, her painting was almost as good as legendary painters in his previous life. She nodded and said "Yes but Boss would kill me if he found out I betrayed him, and he considers me a valuable asset because my paints can effect emotions." Zeus nodded and was silent before asking her "Do you want to join the marines? My grandpa also likes rice crackers, if not though I suppose you could stay with Vivi when your boss is defeated and be their painter." Marianne looked as though she was gonna cry "You would help me? Why?" Zeus patted her head and said "Because I don't like seeing people be forced to do things they don't want to do, plus you're just a little girl you should be having fun not assassinating people." Marianne jumped into Zeus' arms and started crying.
Nami looked over at Zeus and said "Hey Kurama, I don't know maybe a little help?" Zeus looked back and saw that Luffy was still fighting Mr.3 and Ussop was trying to start a fire to melt the wax around the giants and his crew members, he shook his head and said "I'm not helping. If I helped you guys would grow dependent of my strength, I could go and kill their boss right now but if Luffy and the rest of you want to achieve your dreams you're going to have to get a lot stronger, besides Luffy's got this just watch." and Luffy did win, knocking Mr.3 unconscious and Ussop melted the wax around everyone, setting them free. Zeus looked over and said "See? Shishishishi told you everything was fine." Nami grumbled "Damn lazy bastard" while Zoro was upset that he didn't do anything. All of a sudden Sanji showed up, waving at the group "Hey guys! Where's Mr.3?" The rest of the group gave him looks and Nami asked "How do you know that name?" Sanji pulled out an eternal pose that said Alabasta on it and explained "I talked to Crocodile on a DenDen Mushi and fought a bird and some rat thing, anyway Croc thinks we're dead." The rest of the group nodded and decided it was time to leave. Zeus picked Marianne up and put her on his shoulders as he walked with the group back to the Merry. Sanji came over and asked Zeus "Who's the little lady?" Zeus looked up and smiled "She's Marianne I'm gonna see if she can become the Palace painter in Alabasta when we're finished with Crocky." He turned to Sanji and asked "How's your competition with Zoro?" Sanji got serious and turned to Zoro before smirking "I'm pretty sure I got the biggest one." Zoro looked over and sneered "I your dreams love cook my prey is definitely bigger than yours!" Sanji started yelling "Oh yeah, you damn mosshead?!" Zoro snapped back "Yeah you shitty dartbrow!" Zeus rubbed his temples before chuckling "Alright ladies i'll be the judge." Zeus walked over to the 2 beasts Zoro and Sanji hunted before saying "Hmm Zoro's prey has more muscle and is heavier than Sanji's" he walked around both beasts and spoke again "but Sanji's beast is 2 cm longer than Zoro's" He turned to them "What was the bet about? Length, weight, or something else?" Sanji said "We need food so the bigger it was, was what we were going for." Zeus nodded and said "If that's the case Sanji wins, his beast is fatter and has more meat on his bones, while Zoro's has more muscle. That means Zoro you're wearing the blindfold this time, did you count the strikes and dodges last time?" Zoro sighed and nodded "174 strikes and 2 dodges" Zeus looked over to Sanji and said "Luck?" Sanji sighed and nodded, Zeus smiled "Don't worry about it if you get it on the first try, you would be a monster. I would recommend you guys to do it on your own time too, not just when you lose a bet. I didn't make anyone else do them because they just wouldn't do it and I trust you two to get stronger and protect the weaker ones of the group." Sanji nodded and went to get the two beasts, as Zeus hopped on the boat and put Marianne down. Zoro watched Zeus and narrowed his eyes.
The group sailed out of Little garden and through a giant goldfish with the help of their giant friends and made their way to Alabasta.
Zeus was sitting on the deck relaxing when he saw Nami collapse he got up and flashed next to her picking her up before calling the rest of the group and going into Nami's room putting her down on the bed. "What's wrong with Nami-swan?" Sanji said, Zeus sighed and said "Take off her shirt and you'll see" Everybody gave Zeus a weird look before taking off Nami's shirt and seeing the reddish-purple bump on her stomach and gasping. "She got bitten by an insect on Little Garden and needs a doctor or she'll die." Zeus said before walking out of the room, leaving the rest of the group nervous. Zoro narrowed his eyes at Zeus back before following him out.
Zeus was sitting on the railing of the Merry smoking and muttering to himself "How could I forget about that, but I suppose it has to happen or else they would skip Drum Island" Zeus was so into his own thoughts that he didn't notice Zoro watching from behind him.
3 days later and one encounter with a tin man freak, The Straw Hats arrived at Drum Island.
"Hold it right there! You're not welcome here Pirates!" A villager cried.
Luffy looked at the villagers and said "We need a doctor! One of our crewmates is going to die if we don't get her to one!" The villagers sneered and one said "Yea, like we'd believe that." Vivi stepped up and said "It's the truth! Please help us!" She bowed.
BANG*
One of the villagers shot at Vivi, grazing her shoulder and drawing blood as she fell to her knees and grabbed on to her shoulder. Zeus saw that and was reminded of what happened with Luffy when they were kids and his whole body started crackling with lighting as he grabbed the air causing a thunder spear to appear "Which one of you worthless pieces of trash just shot that?" he said causing the villagers to fall down in fear. You couldn't blame them really, he was standing in front of the group at the moment, his eyes were pure blue with lightning wisping of the edges and his whole body was surrounded by lightning, to the villagers he looked like a demon. Zeus screamed "WHICH ONE WAS IT?!" the villagers said nothing, and it only made Zeus more angry, he lifted his spear and pointed it at the villagers before cocking back and sneered "Fine then you all die." He was about to throw the spear when Luffy grabbed his arm and Vivi stood in front of him. Vivi shook her head and said "I'm fine it only grazed me." before she turned around and got on her knees and bowed again saying "Please allow us to see a doctor we'll leave right after." Zeus turned to look at Luffy who shook his head and Zeus sighed returning to normal and going to pick up Nami. When he got back everybody was walking towards the village and he followed with Nami in his arms, Zoro stayed back to watch the ship with Carue and Marianne who was sitting on Carue's back.
Zeus followed the group to a man's house. The man said his name was Dalton and that the only doctor was a witch and she lived in the castle on top of the mountain. "She usually comes down from the mountain every few weeks, I don't know where she is at the moment though, your best bet is to go up the mountain." Luffy, Zeus, and Sanji nodded, Zeus turned to leave but he was stopped by Dalton who said "I'm truly sorry for the villagers' attitude, we we're attacked by pirates not too long ago, they we're called the Blackbeard pirates and they terrorized the villagers." Zeus scoffed and said "Well not every pirate group is the same and had it not been for Vivi, there wouldn't be a single villager left maybe you should thank her kindness instead of apologizing to me" and with that he walked out of the door, Luffy and Sanji following him. Dalton sighed and apologized to Vivi who smiled and said that it was fine.
Zeus whistled and got on his cloud with Luffy and Sanji on his back and flew towards the castle. When they got there, the castle was empty, they walked in yelling to see if anybody was home, getting no response they searched for a bed and put Nami down before walking out. Zeus sat down on some stairs while Sanji and Luffy went to explore the castle.
A while later, Zeus returned to Nami's room to find an old lady checking over Nami, Zeus walked in and said "Hey is she alright?" The woman turned around and said "She was bitten by a Kestia she's lucky you brought her here, she would've been dead in two days, luckily I saved some medicine to treat Kestia bites." Zeus nodded and said "Thank you" before sitting down and pulling out some cigarettes to smoke, the woman looked at Zeus and said "Are you friends with her and the people who are running around in the castle?" Zeus chuckled and said "I guess you can say that, they're pirates and i'm a marine." the woman laughed at that "You sure don't look like a marine, shouldn't you be catching pirates instead of helping them?" Zeus sighed and shook his head "It' complicated and besides i'm on vacation" the woman shook her head "You can lie to everyone else but you can't fool me, i'm Kureha by the way, would you like to know the secret of my eternal youth?" Zeus smiled, stretched his hand out and said "I'm Kurama and actually yeah I do" Kureha chuckled and shook his hand and replied "Well i'm not tellin ya but i'll let you have a guess." Zeus thought for a bit and said "From the neck down?" Kureha's face showed some surprise "Well I'm not gonna tell ya if you're right either" Zeus choked on his saliva and said "Then why ask at all?" Kureha just chuckled and said "Just to fuck with ya" as she left the room. Leaving Zeus grumbling "Damn witch." he shook his head and looked at Nami who was still sleeping on the bed before leaning back in his chair and closing his eyes and eventually falling asleep.
When he woke up, he saw Nami was awake and sitting up in her bed talking to a reindeer-like creature he said "Wow! You look so fluffy!" The reindeer creature was startled and jumped backwards smashing into a bookcase causing books to fall on his head, while Zeus and Nami laughed. Zeus flashed over and grabbed the reindeer and flashed back to his seat with the reindeer on his lap, petting it softly. The reindeer was shocked at Zeus speed and was startled again when he was in Zeus' lap, "Let go of me!" the reindeer said, Zeus chuckled and said "Hey what's your name?" completely ignoring the squirming reindeer. The reindeer said "My name is Tony Tony Chopper. Now can you let me go?" Zeus nodded and said "Nice to meet you Chopper, you look like a pretty cool guy." Nami also pitched in "Yea he's a doctor too" Zeus looked at Chopper and said "Wow! I've never seen a reindeer-cat doctor before!" Chopper blushed and said "Shut up Bastards! It's not gonna make me happy when you praise me! Idiot!" Zeus laughed and continued to pet him "So you're like a cat-reindeer right?" Chopper snapped "I'm just a reindeer!" Zeus chuckled and said "What a weird cat!" Chopper snapped again while Nami sweatdropped, Zeus just laughed and said "Shishishishi you should become a pirate Chopper" Zeus pointed to Nami and continued "They don't have a doctor or a cat on board!" Chopper shook his head and said "I can't become a pirate! AND I'M NOT A CAT!" Zeus looked at him and said "Why not I think a cat like you would make a great pirate" Chopper shook he's head and said "I'm a monster! I have antlers and a blue nose! Nobody likes me" Zeus flicked him on his forehead "Oi you stupid cat I like you and she looks like a cat so im sure she'll like you and the rest are monsters too you'd fit right in!" Nami was about to agree with him but snapped instead "WHAT DO YOU MEAN I LOOK LIKE A CAT!" Zeus chuckled and scratched behind Chopper's ear completely ignoring Nami "Come on join the pirate crew! We- they need a a cat like you." Zeus almost made a mistake but caught himself quickly, but not quick enough for Nami to not notice. Chopper was about to say something when the doors slammed open revealing Luffy and Sanji. "WOAH IS THAT A REINDEER! SANJI LET'S EAT IT!" Sanji just said "Smoked venison is good for your body, and paired with mashed potatoes whould make an excellent feast." Chopper shot out of Zeus' hands and ran away causing Luffy and Sanji to chase after him. Zeus chuckled as he watched them go and Nami turned to him and said "You know he's not a cat right?" Zeus gave her a look and said "Of course do I look like an idiot to you? It's funny to watch him get all riled up." Nami giggled and Kureha walked into the room and said "So you're awake." before turning to Zeus and saying "If you're done making my assistant contemplate his species, maybe you can help me." Zeus looked at her and said "What do you need" Kureha sat down and said "Well I want you and your friends to cure Chopper's heart" Nami looked puzzled and Kureha continued "Do you want to hear a story?" Nami nodded and Zeus leaned back in his chair.
A while later, Kureha finished her story and Nami was wiping away her tears and Zeus had his head down and wiped his eyes as well. Kureha asked "So can you and your friends heal Chopper's heart?" Zeus took a deep breath and nodded while Nami did the same. Kureha smiled and Chopper came into the room saying "Doctorine! Wapol's back!" Kureha got up and left with Chopper leaving Zeus and Nami in the room. Nami looked at Zeus and said "Shouldn't you go?" Zeus lit up another cigarette and said "Nah i'll probably kill him by accident. He's a bastard but he has to live." Nami was confused, Zeus got up and walked towards the window to see Chopper and Luffy fighting Walpol and his partners and chuckled "It's strange isn't it? A marine helping pirates?" Nami stayed quiet and Zeus continued "I have my reasons to protect your crew, I know you and that mosshead have your doubts." Nami was about to say something but Zeus held up his hand and said "But I wouldn't hurt Luffy and his crew. Well... not on purpose anyway." He turned to Nami and smiled before saying "You should get some rest, after all we need to leave for Alabasta as soon as possible." he walked out the door and closed it, leaving Nami to try and figure out what he meant.
Eventually Wapol and his partners got a one way ticket off the island courtesy of a Gum-Gum Bazooka, and Luffy invited Chopper to join the crew. "Cmon Chopper join my crew! You're super cool!" Chopper did a little dance and said "Shut up! Idiot! Bastard! Calling me cool won't make me happy!" Luffy laughed and Zeus chuckled while Chopper said again "I can't join your crew, I'm a monster!" Luffy tilted his head and said "So?" Chopper continued "And I have a blue nose! and antlers!" Zeus chipped in "And you're a cat." Chopper said "and i'm a ca- I'M A REINDEER!" Luffy laughed and said "Just shut up and join!" Chopper cried and finally agreed and went to tell Kureha.
A while later the villagers, Dalton, Zoro, Ussop, and Vivi were at the castle. The villagers were still cowering in fear at the sight of Zeus, while Zeus was giving them a harsh glare. Chopper came out of the castle to tell the villagers that Kureha needs them to go inside, but the villagers just yelled "MONSTER!" and shot at Chopper. Luffy jumped in front of Chopper and the bullets bounced off of him and away, Luffy turned to Chopper and asked if he was okay before running and holding Zeus back with Sanji and Zoro, while Vivi was trying to calm him down. Zeus, who was being held back already had his thunder spear out and was about to pulverize the villagers, before Kureha came out and asked "What's going on out here? Chopper I told you to tell the villagers to come into the castle." Chopper said "I did but they called me a monster and started to shoot at me! Luffy blocked the bullets and the guy with the mask is about to kill all the villagers!" Kureha looked at Zeus, who looked like he really would kill all the vilagers if they would stop holding him back, and walked over to him and told Luffy, Zoro, and Vivi "Just let go of him." Vivi was shocked and said "No last time they shot at me and I was only able to calm him down by standing in front of him." Kureha sighed and picked up some dirt, rubbed it on her hands and chopped at the back of Zeus' neck knocking him unconscious before grabbing him and laughing "Wow I didn't think that would work!" She turned to the villagers and said in a cold tone "Get inside and start working, or i'll wake him up." The villagers ran into the castle like their lives depended on it, and they actually did, and Kureha walked back into the castle with Zeus telling the rest to stay here because she wanted to talk with him. The rest of the group nodded while Luffy and Zoro were looking at Zeus.
A few minutes later Zeus woke up in a bed before looking around and seeing Kureha looking at him holding on to something. Kureha held was she was holding up and said "Now I know why you lost it on the villagers." Zeus saw that she was holding his mask and his pupils shrank, he touched his face and looked around the room. "Relax kid your secrets safe with me nobody else is here." Kureha said, Zeus sighed and said "What happened?" Kureha put the mask down and said "Well apparently, the villagers called Chopper a monster and shot at him when that boy with the straw hat jumped in the way and bounced the bullets away, and you lost it were about to blast all those villagers to death, when I got there you had 3 people holding you back and 1 of them was trying to calm you down." Zeus nodded and said "How did I get here? and how long was I out for?" Kureha replied "You were out for maybe 5 minutes and I knocked you out" Zeus was about to question her but shook his head, Nami could punch him somehow who was he to say Kureha couldn't do it either, 'Women in One Piece sure are scary' Zeus thought, Kureha continued "I was going to check and see if you had any mental trauma that caused you to lose your mind, but I think I know the reason now." Zeus chuckled and shook his head "Yeah you were right when you said I didn't look like a marine." Kureha shook her head and sighed handing the mask back "Just do what you want, at the end of the day it's your life and you decide how to live it, not anybody else." She walked out of the room leaving Zeus to look at the mask in his hands, he sighed and put it on "Soon, i'll be free soon." He got up and walked out of the room.
When he met the group they were ready to leave "Hey guys!" He said catching up with them. "When are we leaving?" Luffy smiled and said "We're waiting for Chopper!" Zeus nodded and was about to say something when Chopper came out of the castle in his walk point screaming "Start running!" The group started running after seeing Kureha running after Chopper throwing all sorts of weapons, which were coming out of literally nowhere, the group jumped into a sleigh and flew down the mountain on one of the ropeways, to escape Kureha. The group reached the Merry and heard a huge BOOM and all turned around to see Cherry blossoms, Nami and Zeus looked at each other and smiled, while Chopper was crying as the group sailed away.
Once they were far enough away Luffy said "Alright! Now let's celebrate our new crew member Chopper!" They rest of the group cheered and started partying, Zeus watched them from a chair on the deck while drinking. Vivi came over and sat down next to him and said "He's pretty cute isn't he?" Zeus chuckled and added "He's really soft too, he'd be a great pillow." Vivi covered her mouth and giggled before saying "Thank you for protecting me this morning." Zeus waved her off and said "We're friends, it's what I should do." Vivi smiled and turned to watch Chopper play with the rest of the crew, 'Friends huh?' Vivi thought as she snuck a glance at Zeus, who was looking at the rest of the crew and wondered what was under his mask 'wish we could be more than that' she added in her mind before sighing.
The next day
Luffy, Ussop, and Chopper were fishing. Luffy said "I got something!" and pull up his rod reavealing an... Okama? The okama said "Thank you for saving me!" Luffy looked at the man and said "Why didn't you just swim?" the man did a pirouette and said "because I ate a devil fruit, I can't swim." Luffy looked at the man again and said "Why were you in the water if you can't swim?" the man said "I hit a storm and fell off my boat, anyway thank you for saving me friend!My name is Bon clay do you want to see my devil fruit?" Luffy nodded excitingly and Bon clay slapped Luffy sending him flying across the deck, causing the rest of the crew to draw their weapons, Bon clay put his hands up and his face turned into Luffy's as he said in Luffy's voice "Stop guys! It was for dramatic effect!" Luffy got up and said "COOL!" Bon clay gave a smug grin and said "I can do anyone I want" as he touched the rest of the crew's faces minus Sanji, who was in the kitchen and Zeus, who stopped him, Bon clay shrugged and started going through the crew and said "I can even change body's too" as he switched to Nami and took his top off, Zeus saw 'Nami' topless and spit out his drink and started laughing, while Nami herself walked up and punched Bon clay in the head.
A boat passed by and Bon clay said that it was his crew and he had to leave, Luffy , Ussop, and Chopper told him to stay but Bon clay wiped the tears away from his eyes and said "We'll be true friends forever!" and jumped on to the other boat, the people on the other boat all said "Welcome back Mr. 2!" making the Strawhats jump. "That guy was Mr. 2?!" Nami said, Vivi nodded and said "Not only that but he had my father's face too!" Nami said "He has our faces now too." Zoro said we can have a symbol on our arms and cover it with a bandage since he can only copy what he sees, then he won't know that we have a symbol under the bandage." Luffy ran and got a marker marking everybody with a black 'X' and said "This will be a symbol of our friendship." Everyone smiled at that.
A while later the Merry finally landed at Alabasta. Zeus got off the boat with Sanji and Luffy and turned to the group and said "Alright guys we'll split up here, I'll see you later" Zeus turned to Zoro and said seriously "Listen to me, I'm gonna be with Smokey most of the time you see me here. I want you to think about this" Zoro listened carefully, and Zeus continued "A True swordsman can cut nothing." Zoro looked confused and Zeus said again "Focus and remember that." Zoro nodded and Zeus waved goodbye to the rest of the group and left with Sanji and Luffy.
Zeus smirked, 'It's gonna be an eventful lunch'.

Monkey_Godking Hey guys! Here's your chapter for today, I'm not too sure what you think about it to be honest I want to start Alabasta A.S.A.P so i kinda blew through Drum sorry about that.
Next Chapter Start/End of Alabasta? It depends if you want to see the fights or not. Let me know if you want so see some fights or if you want me to focus on Zeus like i was planning.
Btw the kureha dirt thing was kinda just a gag but Dirt is indeed not a conductor so theoretically it can work
ALSO i have an idea for a new story but i dont think i will write it until i finish with this one but i really like the concept theres no reincarnation or time travel just a pure story with a new OC who joins Luffy lmk if you want to know what its about
