章 22: Between Demigods

Ezekiel arrived at his friends' house when it was close to evening. Abelia's garden spread the usual peaceful atmosphere with many animals running around. Since it wasn't his first visit, he knew where he had to go to find her.

He didn't want to build his relationships on secrets, be they friends or potentially more. Both knew that neither was a normal human or even a human at that. If Ezekiel had to take a guess, he would put his money on her being a demigoddess similar to himself, not as strong, however.

While he was lost in his thoughts, he felt like walking through a liquid for a moment, indicating that he went behind a barrier. As he got behind the house, he came upon a different Abelia than usual. He could clearly feel the divine energy rolling off her, but different from his own it felt soothing and peaceful. Had other people heard his thoughts they would roll their eyes. It felt relaxing to him because he was strong and had his own divinity. Other people would definitively feel pressured if Abelia didn't keep it in check herself.

What surprised him the most however were the clothes she was wearing, or rather the lack of them. Her current outfit was very revealing and showing off her fit and womanly body. Her appearance made even Ezekiel pause for a moment. One couldn't blame him though. He was used to good looking people from the time he spent in heaven, but Abelia's looks weren't inferior to even Gabriel.

„My eyes are up here Mr. future God of Destruction." Abelia laughed lightly, while teasing him with the exact words he told Kokabiel the day before.

„Sorry Abelia. You look exceptionally beautiful though. Is this your divine garment?" Ezekiel replied, with a wry smile at being called out for his staring. Abelia nodded at the compliment, a slight blush adorning her cheeks. Teasing was always easier when not being on the receiving end and as were compliments.

"Let's go sit by the pond." She said as she walked forward and dipped her feet into the water. Ezekiel followed suit and sat besides her.

"You know, I would have believed you when you told me you were a demigoddess. Even without you treating me with such a nice view." Ezekiel joked.

"Oh, shut up, I just feel comfortable around you. And you should know it yourself that one's divine garment feels like a second skin." Abelia replied.

"Indeed, at least that is what I was told." He said, making her raise an eyebrow.

"I clearly felt your divinity during your stunt last night and you want me believe you don't have a divine garment?" She questioned.

"It's not that I don't have one, but it takes after your divinity and understanding of it. My father said I should wait until I know the direction I want to go since I have two strong heritages inside me. If I would use it earlier, it would subconsciously push me into one direction. So, until I summon it, it would have no certain form."

"That makes…actually sense." Her expression became a bit downcast toward the end. She would lie if she said she didn't look forward how he would look like. After his fight, she pictured him in a grand looking armour. But now it seems she would have to wait a while longer.

"Haha, don't worry about it, you will be the first I will show it." Ezekiel laughed at her expression, making her roll her eyes.

"But it seems you already heard the important bits about me yesterday. Why don't you tell me more about yourself?" Ezekiel suggested.

"Alright. But it was really surprising to hear who your parents are. You really are a freak, Ezekiel. My mother is Demeter of the Greek Pantheon and usually that would be something to brag about. As for my father, I don't know who he is. All I know is that he is a human and it didn't seem like my mother cared much about him." Abelia answered. She didn't feel bad about her father, she never knew him and growing up in Mount Olympus warps your view of a normal family.

"Then you have similar divinities like your mother?" Ezekiel questioned.

"You don't know how lucky you were to take after your father, don't you? Even if they are sometimes related or similar, most of the times the divinity of the child is completely different. I was probably lucky in that regard as well though. My divinities are about nature, animals and fertility." Abelia answered, getting just a little quieter at the last part.

"That's pretty different from me, but I think it feels pleasant." Ezekiel answered, not going into detail about her natures. It isn't too surprising to get part of her mother's powers, since Demeter is a strong goddess with multiple strong divinities. Even if it wasn't guaranteed, with her father being a normal human the chances were high. Abelia just smiled in response.

"So, why are you in Kuoh? It's not my intention to be rude, but it's pretty far from Greece and I doubt it's a coincidence you ended up here." Ezekiel asked.

„My mother told me gain experience outside Mount Olympus and to meet more people my age. And she said something about getting me away from Zeus." Abelia explained to which Ezekiel smiled wryly. Zeus wasn't known for his restraint in sexual matters and Ezekiel was sure it was better for her to keep a healthy distance from her uncle. Actually, Mount Olympus as a whole wasn't known for its restraint. Thinking of It, they weren't better than devils. Then again, most pantheons were weird from a human's point of view. The Nordics birth wolfs and snakes as children and even his own half-brother had four arms and the head of an elephant.

"I heard of Zeus and he doesn't seem to be very decent to put it mildly, but does he really have intentions toward you?"

"You wouldn't believe half of it. Even though he has the leading position of the Greek Faction, he behaves like a child. He is unreasonable and throws a tantrum every other day. Females of every race, creatures and animals included, aren't safe if they catch his eye. That said, even if my mother is strong, his power and position are too much for her alone. Few others would actually involve themselves, Hera included. She is his wife and tolerates his bad personality. I'd rather jump from a cliff before giving myself to him." Abelia vented toward the end. Even if a jump from a cliff wouldn't do much to her, the message was clear.

Ezekiel didn't think that Zeus' character was bad to such an extent. His misadventures were widely known, but that he would force his own family. At least it was the first time Ezekiel heard of it and he was sure he and Zeus wouldn't become friends. He'd like to see how powerful that priced lightning really is, however.

Abelia could guess what was going on in his head after seeing his expression shift from disgust and coldness to excitement and slight evil. She and Ezekiel spent a lot time together since he came to Kuoh and they hit it off very well. Now she knew him at least good enough to know how he ticks.

"Don't worry about it, it's not like he has his eyes on me already and he doesn't know where I'm at the moment. But not everything is bad in Olympus. It's quite a sight to see." Abelia laughed, trying to change the topic.

"Oh, I would like to see it in the future." Ezekiel broke out of his thoughts and replied.

"I would gladly show you around." She offered with a slight giggle.

They talked for a while longer. About Ezekiel's parents and his family in Heaven, about Abelias family and the training they went through. After a while Ezekiel stood up, ready to leave but Abelia beat him to it.

"How about we watch a movie?" She asked.

Ezekiel thought for a moment. He didn't have anything planned for the evening and didn't have any reason to refuse.

"Sure, do you have anything in mind?"

"The plans for the meeting were finalised. I will go there and meet up with Ezekiel. I think two Seraphs should be enough." Michael stated.

"I want to go as well!" Gabriel exclaimed loudly.

Michael sighed while the other seraphs in the background laughed at his expense.

"Azazel will be there and Serafall as well. I don't think it's a good idea. We have serious topics to discuss. Ezekiel and I will suffice." Michael stated.

"Eww. But Ezekiel-" Gabriel was annoyed at the mention of Azazel before hearing about her self-proclaimed rival. It was always fun to meet that short devil.

"No buts, you will stay here. Ezekiel will return afterwards and then you have enough time to catch up. It isn't like you aren't talking every other week." Michael finally put his foot down. All of them had a soft spot for Ezekiel, but Gabriel was especially proud to be his older sister.

"Vali, you will accompany me to the peace meeting." Azazel stated.

"Fine..." Vali's reply was as unmotivated as it could get. Thinking of his plans for the peace meeting he wasn't looking forward to it anymore. Now that he knew that this freak of nature would participate, he had second thoughts and began to think of emergency plans for his escape.
