Throwing the pregnancy test into the wastebasket, Aerith unboxed another stick and peed on it.

Her finger tapped on the vanity as she waited for the results.

"Fck," she mouthed, her gaze locked on the white strip on the counter that was mocking her. 

Two blue stripes. Positive AF. 

Aerith covered her face with both hands, forcing out a cry for help but shed not a single drop of tear from her eye.

She shouldn't be pregnant. She made a promise not to follow her mother's footsteps...but look at her now. 

She's at the exact crossroads her mother once took. Pregnant at the time of her life when she should be enjoying her youth.

Subconsciously, her mind spiraled down to that fateful day that changed the direction of her life—the day she offered herself to Hunter Ma.
